(( Hakuna - Das Tor
Telemakhos - Manda ))
Drathir had become victorious. It had made Hakuna less than happy, and even more confused. She had a son that was an Aran'shale. But for the WRONG THRONE. Her line didn't belong anywhere NEAR Morifaer's throne! She made her way towards the only den as familiar to her as her own, the one Verge now shared with Te. She didn't care which of them was there...She just needed to talk to one of them.
About Drathir, about the cubs in her belly...She sighed, very glad she'd taken up a position as a Sinta'hare. She'd likely do something stupid as a Tirma'eth with her current state of mind. What had she done wrong, to push one of her own towards Morifaer? When she reached the den, she scratched at the floor of the entrance.
"Te, Verge? Is either of you there?"
Te had come back here to ... basically sulk after his little 'talk' with Drathir. Really, the other was a prize -idiot- and Te couldn't believe he had actually listened to anything Morifaer said. Sighing softly at the sound of Hakuna's voice, the large red male heaved himself up to his feet. "Back here," he called.
Hakuna moved into the den, mask of a solid lioness dropping once the rest of the world couldn't see her. No use in holding up that mask around either brother. She looked every bit the conflicted lioness she was at the moment. "Te...I need to talk with you, or Verge. About my...my IDIOT of a son," Because Drathir WAS an idiot, going after vengeance for something that no one else knew about. "And something else."
"Oh good, -someone- agrees with me!" Te replied instantly, with a soft little growl. "I was just talking to him, actually. And he doesn't see why this ... this whole thing is so -stupid-." Te took a breath then, forcing himself to calm down. "Sorry... I just..." he trailed off with a frustrated little noise.
Hakuna shook her head. "It IS stupid. And...I can't help but feel I could have helped prevent this chain of events. I'm his mother, after all." And she'd not been a very good one. "WHY did he do it? What IDIOCY prompted him to do what he did?"
Te sighed at that and plopped down, tail still twitching about in a rather irritated manner. "Morifaer," he growled softly. "From what Drathir said, Verge 'shunned' him and Morifaer picked his a** up and came up with this whole plan for him to ... I don't even know. Prove himself or something."
Hakuna blinked, then raised a brow. "Verge...shun one of his own sons? Maybe now, after Drathir has been so STUPID. But before then? No...that's just not...just not Verge. He's blunt, and not very...attentive, I suppose. But he wouldn't shun one of his cubs." She sighed. "Morifaer...that god is a b*****d."
"I know!" Te exclaimed, waving a paw in the air. "I tried to tell Drathir exactly the same thing, but he wouldn't listen to me. He didn't even know who I was at the start of it." He snarled quietly and put his paw down again. "I don't think any of it was your fault, though. Maybe in not seeing it happening, -maybe-. But Drathir seems like the type to ... hold all this s**t in til it blows up. Kinda like Verge can be sometimes." He sighed softly at that.
Hakuna sighed and nodded. "I still can't help but feel I didn't spend enough time with him. My first litter...except for Nyota, I think there will always be rifts between me and my cubs." She shook her head. Obviously, there was nothing they could do at this point. "I do have some good news, however."
Te perked up a bit at that - he'd rather like to hear some good news at this point. "Oh? What news is that?" he asked, ears tilting toward her.
Hakuna smiled slightly. "I'm with cubs again. Verge's." She was glad to be having cubs again. Another chance to get things right. And another chance for Verge. And Te, if he wanted to help with them. Hakuna certainly would welcome his help.
Te hesitated for just a moment at that. He really ... couldn't be jealous, as this had proobably happened before he even got back. But still, it gave him just a moment of pause. He got his head together, then, though and smiled. "That's great! I think Verge really likes being a father..."
Hakuna nodded. "I know this is another chance for him. And...I would not have any issues if you wanted a part of the litter as well." She was starting to perk up again.
Te blinked at that. "You mean ... help to raise them?" he asked, tilting his head a bit. Then he grinned. "You better bet I'll be helpin' out!" After all, these would be the first cubs of his twin's that he'd be -around- for.
Hakuna chuckled. "Glad to have you around than." She sat. "I'm glad you came, Te." She smirked. "It's nice having another voice of reason around here that's not related to me by blood." She loved the pride but...well, there was more than a little insanity in some of the members, and a lack of sense in others.
Te laughed softly at that and nodded. "Oh yea... I know what you mean." And with a few ... exceptions... cough ... Te knew that all of Verge and Hakuna's kids had turned out just fine.
She let the smirk turn into a smile. One that wasn't often on her face. "Well...once you see Verge, let him know I need to talk with him." She took a breath. "I think...I don't want any of this litter to be heirs. I want this litter to not have that hanging between them."
Te nodded firmly at that. "That's ... probably a good idea," he murmured, sighing. Obvioulsy it was just far too tempting for Morifaer to stick his paws into things and muddy them up. But then again, he was a demon. That's what he -did-.
Hakuna nodded. "Well...I should go rest. I've got a lesson to teach later, and my students are going to take more of a toll on me than usual." She stood again. "It was good talking with you, Te. And...thank you. It's nice to know Nyota, Dome, and I aren't the only ones who think Drathir's being an idiot." She was still confused about where she stood with her son, but...it was a bit more bearable now.
Te nodded at that, and leaned forward quickly to kind of nudge at her shoulder. "Yea... don't forget you've definitely got an ally in me." He winked at her. "And anytime y'need help with those lessons, you can come drag me over there."
Hakuna nodded. "I'll remember that." She returned the kind-of-nudge. "And you may come to regret that later. Some of the cubs are VERY energetic." She turned. "I'll see you later Te." And she headed out, looking like the strong lioness most knew her as once again.
