He was so TIRED of his siblings always being mean, his father ignoring him, and his mother...well, it didn't do well to get him started on his mother. So currently, he was just wandering along the land near their cave. Big gray eyes watched the dawning sky, his black mane ruffling slightly. The pink boy moved to a rock and clamored up onto it, crossing his forepaws with a sigh....This SUCKED.
Dae hadn't gone to sleep yet. But dawn was closing in, and she was getting tired. But there was someone missing in the den. And while most of her family didn't care...SHE liked everyone in place before she went to sleep. So while everyone else was distracted, she snuck out. And started her search for her pink brother. "Nasira~ Where, oh, where have you gone~"
The coo of his sister met his ears, and he let out a soft sigh. At least it was Dae, and not Tisaniin or Shardice. Those two....God they were so mean! Getting to his paws, he moved to the edge of his perching place and murmured, "I am over here, Daelote." His voice was quiet, and he didn't know if he really WANTED her to find him.
Dae blinked and looked up. Oh! There he was! "There you are, Nasira~" She purred. "Now what are you doing up here? It's time for sleep, brother dear." And she wanted to sleep. And she couldn't until he was there.
He sighed and lay himself back down, tail dropping, "I'm not sleepy, Daelote. I want to lay out here. I'm tired of the den." He said this very seriously, watching his sister from his place.
Dae sighed. WHY did her other siblings have to ruin her sleep routine? "It's because of our siblings, isn't it? And Father and Mother-dearest?" Just because he was pink. She LIKED his pink. It was very...inspiring!
His ears lay flat, and he let out a soft sigh, "....Sort of. I don't really care. I'll prove them wrong, one day.....I'll become a Demon, just like the others." His eyes were fierce, "I can almost beat Shardice in a fight."
The darker cub nodded. "I think you're already a demon. You were just born flower-colored. Which isn't surprising, since Mother has pink." She smiled slightly. "I don't doubt you're almost to the point he's at. Perhaps...i can make you something to practice on!" She giggled.
Nasira blinked, and looked at her, a small smile raising itself on his usually serious face. 'Sira was having to grow up fast, thanks to most of hi family, and he was a bit surprised that he had....help of any kind. Getting up and padding down to her. He nuzzled her with a purr, "You would be amazing, sister! I know I could do it if I was given a chance!"
Dae returned the nuzzle. "You'll prove yourself. You've the same blood as the rest of us." What sort of thing could she make to help him...OH! "I remember seeing a discarded animal skin. I could stuff that and close it up, and you could use it to beat up on."
He purred happily, and grinned, "That would be perfect. I've been practicing on bugs for now, 'cuz they make that REALLY pretty crunching sound~
She giggled and nodded. "They do make lovely noises. And when you string their shells together, they make a lovely clink-y sound!"
He purred, "MMhmm~ I know, right~? I should find you pretty green-beetle shells and make you a necklace!" He was happy he at least had a supporter, and that it was one of his own family only made it better.
Dae perked. Someone make something for HER? Well that was a turnaround! It made her give him a real, large smile. "I...I would like that VERY much, Nasira! Very much indeed~"
He was happy to see the smile on her face. Sure, Nasira wanted to be a Demon, but that didn't mean he couldn't make his sister a pretty little present! Looking on the ground, he pinned a beetle down, spotting the irridescent green he loved so much. He pried its outer wings off, giggling at the crunch, "I wonder if bugs scream..'
Dae purred. "Oh likely. Just not in a way we can hear or comprehend. They ARE lower lifeforms, no matter how pretty." She may have been...'nicer' than most of her family, but she was a demon through and through, arrogant with a cruel streak.
He grinned, a nasty glint in his eyes as he slowly peeled the exoskeleton from the beetle, snipping the outer wings off, and then looking at the lower ones, and deciding to seperate them too, "These are pretty~"
The grin was reflected on Dae's muzzle as she continued to purr. "They are~ All shiny and pearly." Despite her excitement, she yawned and shook her head. Ah...her sleepiness was winning. Oh dear.
His tail flicked, and, quickly looking around, he found something he could use. Piercing the wings with a claw, he used a thin strip of fiber to thread them onto, and carefully worked a knot into the strand, before picking it up in his mouth, and stringing it over Dae's neck, "There. We should sleep now."
Daelote looked at the quick necklace, and gave her brother a lick on his cheek. "Thank you. And yes...sleep now is good." She trotted back into the den, tail swishing tiredly, but happily. In the end, she won. And got to see her brother's determination. It was good~ Very good. Someone would need to put their siblings in place.
He followed her happily, purring, and slid himself in beside Dae. This would be the start of a beautiful friendship.
