Hello fellow Gaians!
I was wondering if someone could help me build on my Japanese vocabulary.
I currently know:
- salutations such as hi, hello, how are you, etc.
- pronouns such as I, you, he, she, they
- numbers and colors
But I would like to know verbs so I can practice reading or writing sentences.
If anyone would be kind enough to compile a list of common verbs
Or give me some advice as to where I might find such a list,
I would greatly appreciate it!
Thank you for your time.

I think its better if you read up on it in a textbook or in some websites. A good one is http://www.freejapaneselessons.com

Verbs are not as simple as you think they might be. Anybody can give you a list of verbs, but the question is, do you know who to use them in a sentence?
It's not enough that you know the verbs in Japanese, but you need to know the conjugation rules and their forms for each tense (past, present/future, etc.).

Try the website I suggested. It may be of great help to you.

Thank you!
Actually, I am starting to search for textbook that can teach me Japanese.
I was thinking of a book called, "Read Japanese Today" by Len Walsh.
Have you read any (textbooks) that you think might be helpful?

Oh, I see.
I'll try to find verb conjugation rules as well as verbs then.

But for the time being, I'll try your suggested website.
I appreciate your quick response! ^ ^

I've used the Genki textbooks, and they're pretty good for grammar, but that's just my opinion.

If its verbs you want to know about, McGrawHill's "Verbs & Esentials of Grammar third edition" is pretty good. it even includes a free audio download. ^^
