So tomorrow's election and it looks like the Republicans may gain power in the government. This is because Americans are apparently stupid and have short memories. They call Obama "worst president" and yet forget about 4 years ago and Dubya. 4 years ago they were so dissatisfied they gave the Democrats the government, now they're giving the Republicans the government.

I guess americans are just that stupid. "Well the current party sucks, let's vote for the OTHER one." And then next election: "The current party in power is not working for us, let's choose the other party". And then next election, the same thing.

If the book the GOP just put out is any indication, we're in for more stupid decisions like extending the Bush tax cuts for the rich, which will make the debt even worse. But we know the GOP suck the fat cocks of the richest people/corporations of america (Yes, a corporation is a person now, thanks to the retardedness of the Supreme Court. Did you know they're deciding on censoring video games now? God help us.)

Are you voting tomorrow? Anyone here? Maybe we can inject some sense into government tomorrow. Or maybe we're just ********.

Already voted, just need to deliver my ballot.

I voted mostly 3rd party really, with only a few exceptions for offices were "it mattered".

I absolutely refuse to vote for republicans until they drop the religious and backwards social crap. Until then, I don't care if one would single handedly save the economy and make the US prosperous for centuries to come, I'm not voting for them.

That said, it's not like democrats are amazing or anything, they're just not republicans. I voted more green and socialist that I ever did before, and their platforms fit in even better to my views than the watered down versions of the democrats.

I can't vote for a few more years.. My bro voted Democrat, and 3rd-party, and wouldn't shut up about how he still wants a single-party system since Republicans and Democrats can't agree on squat and it's hurting all of us as a result..

I refuse to vote, this country is seriously messed up government wise and there's no fixing it no matter who gets into office, therefore I don't waste my time with it.

I voted as soon as I got home from work. Seriously, I parked in the garage and walked straight over to the polling place. It's in a high school that's about a block (more or less) from my apartment, and the weather's beautiful (if a bit on the chilly side), so I had no reason not to, even if I didn't want to (which I so did).

But yea, I absolutely agree with Lee's assessment: Americans are stupid shits with microscopic attention spans. Which most likely means Obama will only be a 1-term president, and everything he tried to accomplish will disappear under another funda-mental Repugnican backwash. ******** ******** takes time, people. Give Obama a chance. /ranting at no one in particular

As my friend said, looks like we'll be seeing a lot more institutionalized bigotry, racism, and xenophobia in this country over the next few years. Joy.

Being an American, it's tough to swallow the "Americans are stupid" part, though for a large part I can't say I disagree.. After two terms of Dubya, I'm more than willing to give Obama all the rope he needs, and hope he uses it to pull this country out of its slump. Seems the White House is the only part of Government really trying to get anything done, the Supreme Court is pretty much dead with all that's been going on, and the Republicans in the House and Senate were too used to Bush letting them run amok to want to let anyone do anything for anyone else. Since Obama started proposing all these ideas that were actually going to save this country in the long run, even if it cost us in the short-term (can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs, though), this has pretty much been the norm.:

Democrats/Obama: "We'll give the American people Universal Health Care!"

Republicans: "They'll unplug grandma and spoon-feed her corpse Socialist hippie agendas, while telling you how to live your life and rifling through your doctors' files."

Democrats/Obama: "We're going to put thousands, millions, of unemployed Americans back to work, and invest much more heavily in companies that keep those jobs here!"

Republicans: "They'll make us go broke with their Socialist agendas."

Democrats/Obama: "We're going to make sure education is a top priority, because the children of today are the leaders of tomorrow!"

Republicans: "They're going to brainwash your children to become the next Hitler Youth."

Independents: *stand in the corner picking their noses* "No comment."

There's been more, but that's the gist of it. Sad to see ignorance has apparently won out this time around, but I for one am going to remember the old addage "we made you, and we can break you" should the usual continue.

T-Rated too? I heard they were planning to prohibit the sale of M-Rated games to anyone under the age of 18, didn't know it was going quite that far.. Well, there goes pretty much the entire Video Gaming industry, and especially the Final Fantasy series which now has me p*ed times ten with a Totem Pole..

Completely false.

1. They haven't censored anything yet. There are groups that want to, but that is not what the case is about. The case being heard by the Supreme Court is different from others which have not been upheld by lower courts.

2. There has not been any ban on the production of any games past T rating.

3. California has NOT banned the sale of the games, nor the production either.

4. The law in question is to place violent video games into the same category as pornography, making it illegal to sell directly to minors. Parents could still purchase these games for their children however.

5. It is still a free speech issue and a sticky one at that due to the laws not being a total ban on sales and manufacture.

Somehow, I actually figured that was still the case.. I'd heard that much broadcast on almost every news network, never heard that anyone had actually completely banned or stopped the production of them.

Just goes to show a little misinformation can go a long way to inducing false alarm..
