Questionable Conversationalist

Bigger and bigger she grew. Stronger and stealthier too. With her strange body, too lean for a leopard, too big for a cheetah, she found herself suited to thinks such as hunting and fighting. Her paws were smaller true, but faster. Her body was bigger, but leaner and able to twist in such fascinating ways. But the male who said she should be his little dancer had been too old to cry for mommy when she hit him for it. And she had been merciful, or so the hybrid felt. She had only clawed his nose. Not his stupid eyes.
But unless she garnered a certain approval, than she would not be given the position she desired. A position she deserved on the basis that she had earned it. She was a warrior. And a good one at that. All of her kills on the hunt had been clean and quick. All she needed was to ask the right person. It might help that she was related to them after all. And a gift wouldn't hurt either. Especially since she knew her aunt had been with cub lately. A meal was never unwanted when a mother had little ones. Aiko had been hungry before, desperate as she had been to tend to them when they were still so small.
The broken body of the young, perhaps too young, gazelle she carried in her jaws might not be as impressive as a fat zebra or hippo, but it was a fair catch. And she was young yet after all. Coughing to try clearing her poor throat, Kanie stood at the mouth of the den she knew belonged to the one and only Nyoka. "Aunt." The word was rough when she managed to call it, her tone raspy and ragged. But it was meaningful enough was it not? A word worth the effort of speaking it.

Arguably. Today was a day that Nyoka was not in the grandest of her health but she convinced herself otherwise. Before she was often decorated with the best 'shinies' one could have.. but ever since she gave birth to Nanashi's cubs. Her health diminished and she stopped wearing it on request as to not weigh her down. The cheetah's ears were up in a relaxed mood as she came out of the tunnel that lead to their private spring. It was uncommon to have a spring in between the walls of a crater but somehow.. There was only one and Nyoka processed the den with it. There, she bathed and let herself soak in the spring. Releasing the stress she had by grooming and bathing. After long, she started her way up the short tunnel that led to her den..
Now feeling slightly refreshed she was greeted by a figure blocking the sun from coming in to her den. Raising her head and sniffing the air revealed the shadow's true self. One of Aiko's cubs. Family. They had grown since the last time she saw them, and this one proved it. When she was fully out of the tunnel she took a few easy steps forward and gave a nod of accepting that the hybrid could come in. It appeared to look as though the cheetah was slightly tired and anxcious of being cooped up in the den for so long. Not being allowed to leave since she was so weak for the moment. It was also apparent that the boss lady changed in some fashion- by the general air she gave off. One of a motherly change. Soft green eyes engulfed the figure.
"Keikanei...am I right." The voice tender and so delicate sounding as to ask for confirmation of identity.
