Velveteen Angel Satomei had curled herself up by the side of the stream, her limbs gracefully sprawled. The tuition from Fi and her own mother Aiko had truly helped her take control of those awkward adolescent limbs and force them to behave in a sensible manner. She still tripped occasionally, but it was less often then it used to be and she didn't fall over nearly as much. Which she counted as an achievement. She stretched out, patting her paws into the water and making it ripple out before her. The young feline was bored and that seemed to be a normal happening. She would soon go out on her first trip as a pack mule to some of the other Merchants, but that seemed like such a long way away for one as impatient as Satomei. She huffed to herself, and glanced out at the pride.

Vivuli padded out of her den, she was busy thinking over what her and Nyoka had discussed. She wanted to be part of the council but there was only room for one female, and she had to get it. She had been through so much and was making great progress in recovering from the ordeal. She wanted to make sure she was being as helpful as she could be for her pride.
She made her way over to were some food was lying and took a small piece of fresh kill. She looked around for some company she could talk to and maybe share the food with. It seemed only one person was out this early, a young female named Satomei. Vivuli knew her the pack mule, she had never actually met her before, maybe this was her chance. Vivuli padded over to where the young cub was playing with water, she dropped the fresh kill by her. "Would you care for some food?" she asked kindly as she sat down by her and the water. she looked briefly into the water and at her reflection before urning her attention back to the young cub.

Velveteen Angel Satomei glanced up, blinking in surprise as a female approached her. Now, Satomei was not the most of creatures around the Kuroi, but she knew the people around. She had to, since hybrids weren't held in high esteem, she had to prove her worth. She sort of recognized the female, but could not place her name. What had surprised her most was the food dropped near them, and the offer to share. She hesitated, glancing back towards her family's den. She still lived there, but she knew Aiko would not mind if she shared a meal with someone not family. It just meant more food for the other occupants of the den. “That would be nice,” she told the female calmly, giving her a slight smile. “Thank you.” She did not make a move to eat, however. “Forgive me, but what is your name? I can't remember.” She felt a little embarrassed but she could not be expected to remember everyone. “I am Satomei.”

Vivuli smiled at the cubs modesty, she was very beautiful for being so young. It was almost a pity that she was a pack mule, her light pink markings made her look as though she was blushing. "Your very welcome" she said dipping her head kindly. "My name is Vivuli, do not worry we have not met so that is understandable. A pleasure Satomei" she said giving the young leotah a reason to not feel embarrassed. Vivuli didn't even know everyone in the pride yet, but she was fairly new. She wondered if her goal of getting into council so soon and so fast was stirring any trouble amongst the pride. I mean it is possible they wouldn't trust a newcomer, especially one with a past like hers. she shook her head at the thoughts, she needed to try and relax and let go of all the seriousness around her. She wanted to just focus on something else for once.

Velveteen Angel Satomei bowed her head to Vivuli, returning the smile. “A pleasure to meet you, Vivuli.” She hestitated, before remarking. “I am trying to learn everyone in the pride, but it always seems to grow, so it's rather hard to keep track.” She gave an embarrassed giggle, before bowing her head to daintily nibble at the kill that was dropped nearby, her stomach empty but she was reluctant to dig in messily with the graceful cheetah watching. “Are you new to the pride?” She asked, making conversation and also curious. She had not known her, so surely she must be new?

Vivuli was impressed with this leotahs behavious. Many lower classed members were somewhat socially awkward. However this young female was quite easy to converse to and rather respectful. Vivuli admired that about her. "I agree even me being so new seems to be past news around here, so many young ones have appeared" she said laughing a bit at the thought of a cub explosion. The thought of cubs made her heart lurch a bit inside, she thought hard not to dwell on the past. "Yes I am new, how long have you been a member for?" she asked quickly trying to change the dark thoughts that were entering her head. Vivuli liked Satomei quite a bit, she was glad she choose to come over here. She looked around briefly still no one was awake, she heard stirring but no one appeared.

Velveteen Angel Satomei nodded, and thought to her cousins. They had been part of the recent cub boom and while they were interesting, they made so many new names to learn and more people to keep track of. “The pride does seem to be growing, cubwise, at an alarming rate,” she said with a laugh, and shook her head. She noticed the quick change of subject, but didn't point it out, instead smiling. “Well, welcome to the pride. Me? I was born into the pride. My mother is a Geisha here,” she explained calmly, not ashamed by her mother's rank. She used to be, but she had grown to accept it. She had even thought of joining the entertainer rank, but she would not have been able to rise due to her blood, and it would lead her no where. Plus, men really weren't that interesting to the adolescent.

Vivuli smiled kindly, she enjoyed the cubs. As much as they made her heart hurt she still tried to treat them all like her own. How could she not after what she had been through. Every life was so important to her now. She would never take any more chances with one of these pride embers, each one was like blood family to her. Even this little cub was dear to her now and she would risk her life for her. Young life was always more valuable then the old no matter the value.
"Thank you Satomei" she said kindly at the welcome. "A Geisha? hmm indeed I will probably meet her one day, I too am a Geisha but I dream to work my way up to the council"she said as she she looked at her. She felt bad that with her mixed lines she would never be able to rise. Maybe when Vivuli made it to council she could change that, at least for her. The best she could do is try, it was worth it. To Vivuli it was unfair to deem one unworthy cause of something that they could not change. It was not Satomei's fault she was born a hybrid.

Satomei looked surprised at the female's words. "Oh?" She said, eyeing the female before her as if sizing her up. "You are going for a council position?" To be honest, Satomei thought that sounded terribly boring, but then again she hadn't been much for negotiations and delegating. She preferred doing something a little more...interesting. Which was why she was eyeing the position of Merchant someday. At least that got her out of the pride. "What position?" She asked, but she assumed it would likely be over Entertainers, considering the female was already a geisha, but it never hurt to ask.
Not to mention, Satomei was rather curious to see who might be representing the 'girl power' aspect of the pride someday. Having a female on the council ranks would be great for female moral, to show they can do whatever they wanted - unless they were hybrids of course, but that never bothered Satomei. Not that females were suppressed, but Council ranks were rather male-dominated.

"I am unsure but I wish to be council of Entertainers, perhaps even Nannies...I do like the young ones" she said with a weak smile. She felt that if she were to be in this pride she would work hard for a better rank that she felt she deserved. she did not care where in the council she was placed she just wanted to be a part of it. however Entertainer would suit her considering that she was a Geisha herself, but Nanny also. She had always loved cubs, and was more appreciative of them once she lost her own cubs. It made her value their young lives even more.
Either way getting into the council would be a huge achievement and mark in the pride history. No female is in council let alone no female has made it there. There was a great sense of accomplishment in that if Vivuli were to make it there one day.
"What about you Satomei? any dreams or plans for the future?" She asked curiously as she turned to the young female with keen interested eyes.

Satomei nodded her head, listening to the female speak. Well, any position on the council was a high ranking one, so she supposed it didn't really matter which area she resided over - she would still be the first for a while. "I wish you luck then, or rather, I wish you success in your endeavour," she said, with a polite and warm smile. She'd be happy to see a female within the council someday, since a hybrid couldn't make it, at least a female would.
She looked surprised when she was asked, and tilted her head, staring at her paws with a thoughtful look. "I did not think to dream too much as a child," she admitted quietly, "I spent too much time with my Uncle and following him, that I didn't think of what I would be." She'd always been fascinated by the pride, but there was a certain longing to be outside of the protective walls. "I think I might like to see the rogue lands some day, perhaps a Merchant rank might suit me best, so I can have both worlds at my paws." She gave a half smile.

"Thank you" Vivuli said with a curt nod and a friendly smile. Satomei was so young yet so intellectual, it was rather shocking but well admired. Perhaps her spot on council could somewhat change the fortune for hybrids, with exceptions at least. She assumed the pride didn't realize the potential in the other breeds and species.
Vivuli knew she had asked a deep question, one she would never have thought she'd be asked. Vivuli's heart could not help but sink, this female did not even know the path that laid out for her. Her answer however was remarkable with such simpleness but yet such a good request to it. "I would not doubt that you will become a merchant and when you do I must request you bring me something nice...I am actually gonna leave the pride for a bit myself soon for Nyoka and maybe I can bring you a taste of the outside world till you can become a Merchant and leave yourself" she said with a kind smile as she looked out to the far lands past the pride's boarder.

Satomei was surprised at the female's comments, but pleased. She thought that Satomei could be a merchant? That was high praise from someone who was aiming so high to be a council member. "Thank you," she murmured, and then smiled. "Of course I shall bring you back something nice!" She agreed readily. This female was nice, so Satomei would try her hardest to find some pretty trinkets to return to her once she was able to journey out into the rogue lands.
She was flattered by the offer. "You don't have to do that," she said modestly, but smiled. "But I would be grateful for whatever taste of the outside world you feel you can bring back." It was such a large world out there, and Satomei was eager to explore it, even if the idea of leaving her home made her faintly anxious. There were plenty of things to see, and Satomei wanted to see them.
