I bound a book

this is a project that I did a few months ago
my nanna had this old cooking book that she used to write her recipies a few yeas ago
*I think my mum gave it to her for mothers day or something
but I thaught it was REALLY cute
and during that time all the cool kids at craftster were binding books,
so I decided to try it too



and a photo of my kitty cos she is cute

if you're interested in binding books, let me reccomend Creating handmade Books by Alisa Golden it was the text book for my book making class and its really easy to follow the directions. I love the coptic stitch book.

thanks, i spent a lot of time on them. Book binding is a really rewarding craft and books make great presents. especially for poets and scrapbookers..

I managed to catch the scrapbooking show on DIY this morning and afternoon. During the afternoon show they did several different little books by hand. Now if I just had the money for the supplies.

And I am still using that book! (though thankfully not the camea)
The spine riped on the cover but the pages I bound in there are still going.

I just don't get the whole anti-thread-necromancy thing.
If you think a thread is cool and wanna post on it then I say post on it. What difference does it make if the thread is old?

although.... There is this corset thread that I see get posted on every month or so, but the person who made the thread hasn't posted in the guild for months and months. That annoys me a bit.

Wow! congrats, that looks cool! I tried to bind a book once..... It didn't work. You should get an extra slice of pie!!!! If I succesfully bound a book, I would be hestitant about using it, because I wouldn't want to ruin it xd
