She let out a husky chuckle as she walked on ahead of him, batting him in the nose with her tail as she pulled forward. Zynab knew that this male had potential to become great, even if he didn't seek to be as great as his father. With a grin on her face, the green eyed Firekin turned to study the striped male as he came closer.
Oh, his father sang Atesh's praises to her. She knew what was up from the moment he mentioned a son. His father wanted Atesh to be mated off, produce children for the army. His father wanted to prove that his son wasn't worthless by putting him with a worthy member of the pride. Not that Atesh was worthless, but often times the others of the pride did talk when a male wasn't, at least, talking to a female by his age. Well, let them talk. She wouldn't rush into this thing head long and blindly. She'd get to know this male, beyond what Azarax told her about him, or what he said about himself. Zynab was going to keep an eye on him. She would watch for his true personality, his true strength.
"Come," she said after a moment. "Let us settle down and talk more. It's growing later and soon the moon will be out."

He wiggled his pink nose in response to the light bat of her tail, smiling as he moved to catch up. What was happening here was anything but the mildly awkward first meeting he had originally envisioned, and that alone was enough to give him the courage and confidence to keep moving forward.
His paws crossed the shifting sands with the ease and grace of one who has spent his entire life in the desert, and he made his way up beside Zynab again and nodded his agreement. Yes, they could find a place, they could talk. And with luck, he thought, they could both learn more before the night was done.
