Crafting was such a wonderful escape - if escape was even a proper word for it. Moto'ubele had nothing to really escape from. This pride was her home, and her loyalties to it had only grown in the past moons. Her brother had a mate and cubs now - but she had to correct herself again. They were adults now. Young, but adults nonetheless. Mahewa might even be a grandfather soon. That would make Bele a great aunt...she shuddered at the thought. Indeed, she escaped back into her crafting. She was still young and nimble, as her dexterously articulate claws proved day after day. After all, Hewa had his litter just out of adolescence. They were still young. Her mind wandered briefly to thoughts of her Firekin father. She wondered if he even cared that he was a grandfather. It's not like he knew about it. Bele sighed; her family was so scattered. She couldn't remember the last time she'd seen her mother or the loathsome Toshiro. Those days were long past, an entirely different time, long before Bele ever discovered her true spirit as the demon Bifrons. And so she escaped into her crafting.

She spent the entirety of the day in this manner, musing and crafting, seeing a customer or two every so often. It was the usual routine, and she enjoyed it. But lately her mind had been wandering to the strange Yiska, a decrepit lion she had met recently while gathering materials. He had been an interesting character. He was hostile, but curious. They say curiosity killed the cat. Clearly, satisfaction brought it back. She had shared some of her demonic ways with him, and had secretly wondered if she would see him again. She couldn't help but feel at least sympathetic for him. He seemed almost ill the last time they had met. But she had left him there by the stream, returning home with a pouch full of fresh materials.

As her mind wandered, so did her paws. She found herself stepping outside the den, circling the pride for a little while. She wandered out to the border and sat, flicking her tail gently as she mused. What would happen if he showed up again - right now?

He was happy to be feeling a little better. But better yet he was happy to have hope in another lion for once in a long time.

It was a wonderful feeling indeed, he had some meat on his bones, his fur once matted and dirty was very obviously clean. And even though you could still see some of his ribs and his hip bones he looked much better than the last time he saw Bele.

Bele.

That was the lioness that he had had his mind on for a little while now. He was curious about her and curious about her pride. The whole demon thing was still something interesting to him and still kind of confusing but it was starting to grow on him, just as his muscles were starting to grow back on his body and just as he was starting to get back into better shape. He was a well formed lion as he was finding out jsut from the little bit of more eating and training that he had done. He was curious about the pride and part of him wanted to join it but he still wanted to get a better feeling.

He wandered across the borders, getting an idea of where things were, he was waiting to spot some one, he was hoping it was the lioness that he had met before, even though anyone would do he was intrigued by her and wanted to know more about her too. This was a interesting way to spend the afternoon that was for sure.

A light breeze caressed the savannah, and Bele's beads clinked delicately as her black-tipped feathers waved. It was fresh, clean air, untouched by the faint traces of soot drifting up from the volcano - it was air that came from across the border. But it carried traces of something else. The lioness's mouth opened slightly to allow the scents to reach the glands on the roof of her mouth, and what she discovered surprised her. Really surprised her. It tasted of that stranger she had met; it tasted of Yiska.

For some reason, this excited her, if only because she had just been thinking of him. However, she told herself that it meant there was an intruder in the pridelands, an issue that must be addressed - that would be her excuse, anyway. Their last meeting had been tense, it was true, but perhaps things had changed. Perhaps her descriptions had piqued his interest in the pride. In the very least, he has the pelt for it, she reminded herself.

So she followed the scent on the breeze, hopping up from her spot, until, lo and behold, there he was. Black-pelted, white-patterned, just as he once was - but something seemed changed about him. His fur was almost glossy - he almost looked healthy. What could have changed such a lion? she wondered to herself as she called to him, "Yiska! Welcome to our demon lands."

The lion was busy looking around at the borders, inspecting and thinking as he wandered, there was a lot going through his mind. He was thinking of joining a pride, how much more could he do when this was on his mind when he was going to do something so big and he really couldn't think of anything else. However on the other hand something caught his attention. The sound of a voice followed by the scent of some one else. His ears perked up and he looked over curiously.

It was her, the lioness he was thinking of. He hoped that she noticed the difference in his body. It was her that cgave him the hope but he wasn't going to admit that out loud, he was a strong lion and he didn't need anyone's help."Bele." He returned the greeting before giving her a slight nod. He wasn't too sure how he was supposed to great some one else in this pride. He really wasn't sure at all of what to think of it. She was interesting though that was for sure.

As he trotted up, Bele continued to feel surprise. It really did seem to be Yiska, and not just some slightly more muscular replacement. She could just barely hide her surprise as she responded with a stiff nod, "Greetings." She was slightly wary to comment on his fresh new appearance considering the last time she said something about the way he looked. Sweet Sparda, he had been pathetic. Bones sticking in every direction, his matted pelt hardly clinging to the frame. And his mane...it had all been quite disheartening. This was certainly a turn around.

"I see you couldn't resist the pull of the volcano's power," she said with velvet words. Savory words - hell's draw was delicious. Not long ago, she wouldn't have said such things. But she did not know of the wonders of the place back then, as Yiska did not know now. Perhaps he soon will, she thought, hungrily tasting the thought of fresh blood in the pride. The interrelations were growing uncomfortably close as of late.

"Hello." He answered back, his voice was still rough, it probably always would be, however it was much deeper and didn't sound as scratchy. He smiled at her before nodding and sitting down on his haunches looking around, this was her pride. He was glad to see her, very glad, her company still made her interested, her company was something else but interesting and made him curious and slightly happy. "It's pleasant to see you." He answered simply before a serious look grew on his face, but he was still pretty happy.

"I guess I really couldn't." He answered looking around toward the volcano it was very curious very interesting. "It is a very curious pride, I have to admit." He was pretty amused as he spoked before he continued. "It isn't like what I've seen before, and it doesn't appear to be full of morons unlike the prides that I've seen before." It was true, there were very few prides that he had seen that he like and approved of, he thought most others were stupid but this lioness changed his ideas, she was smart, very obviously and she seemed to know what she was doing and that was why he was looking like this.

Bele slightly raised an eyebrow at his expression of pleasure, unfamiliar with the comment from a relative stranger, but quickly turned her face to a polite smile instead. "And you, Yiska," she replied, trying to keep the harsh tone out of her voice for once. If he was interested in the pride, then that meant that he probably had a demon within him. All demons are to be respected, even if they come from different factions. By the looks of Yiska, however, she figured he would probably join her on Sparda's side. For some reason, the thought amused and delighted her, and she was slightly confused as to why. She tried to push that out of her mind...

"Yes, we are unique," she laughed slyly, flicking her tail. "Each of us live differently, but we are all tied to our volcano. If you are so drawn, perhaps you have some potential." Bele was teasing him, but she was really quite honest. He might have a demon somewhere inside. His curiosity was fascinating. Bele herself hadn't been so curious when she joined so long ago; she simply wanted to be with her brother. "You are at least looking stronger," she commented on his appearance. "More like a true demon." She smiled, not caring about the dangers of assumption.

Yiska lowered his head in a bit of a bow he was happy to see the lioness, he wasn't too sure why, she was pretty and she was interesting but he wasn't too sure of the feeling he felt for her but he enjoyed it. He really wasn't sure but he wasn't going to fight it that was for sure, he didn't see the point of trying to stop it. He wanted to get to know her mother she was very interesting.

"I am very interested into this pride. It's different, I've never met a lion who had as much sense as you do, you seem smart and I figure it's because of your pride, everyone I've met has been pretty stupid with the ways they act." He shook his head at the idea before shrugging slightly. He was surprised to find some one who made sense. "Thank you, I have some faith restored in me. It's very interesting." He said simply with a small shrug before turning to the lioness. "Is your pride accepting members?"

Bele wanted to be flattered by his bow, but it put her off a little. Bowing was for slaves. Still, it showed respect, which was good - acknowledgment of her demon status. He had so much left to learn, but that could all come in time. She allowed herself to dismiss it as more of a nod - more becoming for a demon. His interest was clearly growing, which inevitably meant that there was a demon waiting inside for him to realize - it likely would not be long before they were equals. Again, the thought excited her, but again, she tried to shove it away. Logically it made no sense for her to be so emotional over it - but there was something about this lion. She could feel it. Something that made her like him more every minute.

His flattery was honestly leaving her speechless. This pride didn't have much in the way of pleasantries. And he was rather changed from the last time she saw him - he was friendlier now, and kind. Perhaps it was only his curiosity getting to her. He was getting under her skin, but in a good way. Growing on her. So she just nodded, smiling. "I can think of a few slaves who could use some sense," she said absently. "And our borders are always open to those who have found their demon," she invited.

Yiska shrugged and let out a healthy chuckle. "Slaves are a different story." He said simply, he wouldn't count slaves unless they deserved to be counted but he knew so far she was nice, smart and she seemed quick and he had a feeling others would be too. He looked at her with a smile before nodding to her, this would be nice. He smiled before stepping forward some looking around. "Would you like to join me, and show me around, or even show me to your king?" He asked curiously arching a brow at her, it owuld be nice to be able to talk about joining to some one other then the female. she was nice but he had a feeling she wouldn't be able to join the pride just talking to her.

So he really was interested. Surprised again by the eagerness in her chest, she smiled at him. "If you are the demon that I think you are," she said, turning, her looking back at him over her shoulder. "Then you already belong."

She urged him on, leading him into the depths of the jungle, the volcano growling its welcome ahead.
