(Another) Question I've always had

It's kinda hard to explain, so I have examples as well.

Why are 'l' and 'r' translated weird?

Like, when manga/anime is translated, there's;

Japanese: Zoro, Kirara

English: Zolo, Kilala

If you were to give me a sword
I would stand up and fight for you
Even if this entire sky
Were to pierce you with its light

It's because the japanese ら　（り/る/れ/ろetc) actually sounds like something in between the two sounds depending on the word.
