Nanashi was still getting used to taking much of the pridal responsibilities onto his shoulder, but with Nyoka spending so much time with the cubs – admittedly, she had been feeling unwell which was why Nanashi insisted she rested, though the rest of the pride merely thought she was raising her cubs, not unwell – Nanashi had been left to bear most of the weight of the pride. He was confident enough, and he knew enough of the pride to do it, but sometimes it wore on him. He didn't get enough time to spend with his niece anymore, nor fuss over his own cubs since he was often tired at night, though he always tried to spare time for them. They were, after-all, his offspring.

In a rare moment of freedom, Nanashi had drifted towards the entertainer's dens. Not out of need for entertainment, but his niece Satomei still resided in her mother's den, and as Aiko was a Geisha, there was no avoiding the Entertainer's dens if he wanted to see his niece. Which he did. Unfortunately, it seemed that his sister's den was empty when he peered inside, and he frowned. His sister would be out entertaining somewhere, or just mingling with the pride, but he had thought for sure that Satomei would be there.

He heaved a sigh, and moved away from the den. It seem that now he had moments to spare and no one to spend them with.

Tabia was just padding out of her den, her trinkets and veils flowing around her, the seeds in her head piece making a soft sound as she walked. She hadn't been expecting anyone, most of the Dens were empty today since it had stopped raining for the first time in two days.

Tabia herself was actually on her way to the little courtyard where the Entertainers practiced their skills, either in dance, or song. Already several of her sisters had left. She'd taken a little longer because she'd taken extra time in her appearance. Just in case...a girl had to be ready after all.

Not really looking as she rounded the corner, her mind already on the steps to the dance she was envisioning in her mind, she ran smack into something larger then her, spotty black, warm, and unyielding.

"Oh!"

He had not expected to stumble into someone as soon as he turned from the dens, and especially for that figure to be smaller than him - a female, he assumed, or one of the pridal youths. When the voice reached his ears, he stifled an inward groan. It was a female alright, and he had a sinking feeling he knew which one.

He stayed firm where he was, making sure that she was stable, before he took a step back and looked her over. Yes. It was who he thought it was - Tabia, one of the newer members of the pride and the one he had escorted back.

"Entertainer Tabia," he said stiffly in greeting, though not outright impolite. He was still the leader, even if Geishas and Entertainers annoyed him.

Tabia managed to regain her footing with her normal dancer's grace and even managed a demure smile for him as she bowed her head, " Sir, please forgive me. It is my fault for not looking where I was going."

She lifted her gold eyes to look at him from under her long lashes, her smile moving from demure to sensual, " But I am not sorry that it is you who kept me from what I am sure would have been a nasty fall. I would've hated to have twisted an ankle, it would have ruined the new dance I am working on." As she spoke she lifted a paw , laying it lightly on his chest ruff, the touch barely there, " So thank you...Sir." Tabia's voice had fallen into a smoky whisper.

It wasn't really that she had any true intreast in the handsome Boss who had brought her home to her Pride, it was more...well...he was just so touchy about Entertainers it was to much fun NOT to tweek his tail some.

Nanashi didn't deny that it was her fault, and murmured a "You are forgiven" to her, so as to be polite. She should have looked where he was going, as he had not been hidden at all, standing where he was to look at the dens of the entertainers.

He barely resisted the urge to scowl at her at her smokey tone. Ugh. All types of seductions seemed to be ruined for him now, thanks to Aiko. It didn't help that any Geisha's or Entertainer's now reminded him of his overly exuberant sister. "I'm sure the pridal males would have been quite distraught without your new dance to entertain them," he said coolly, and it was probably true. Many of the pridal males seemed to be quite taken with the entertainers. "I would have done the same for any pridal member, so save your thanks," he said calmly, not aggressively, though not welcoming. He would have prevented the fall of any member of his pride, even if he'd known it was her to start with.

Tabia lowered her eyes, enjoying the sound of his voice. There was no doubt, the Boss Lady was a very, very lucky Her mate had to be one of the sexist male's the entertainer had ever met. She wondered where she could get one of those...hummm.

" I doubt the Pridal males would have noticed Sir," she purred at him, " you certainly you would not have. You barely notice any of us, those of us who ply the trade that helps keep the Pride in its wares."

Tabai tilted her head to the side, golden eyes gazing up at him through thick lashes, " or would you have..Nanashi?" Tabia's voice dropped to a mere breath at the uttering of his name.

Nanashi shifted lightly - barely noticeable at all - in discomfort at her purr. She was, admittedly, quite a beautiful female but he had no desire to stray from Nyoka - not even for a moment and certainly not with an Entertainer. Aiko had soured all his opinions of Entertainers, and that was perhaps something that would last his lifetime.

"I notice all of the pridal members, but whether I acknowledge them or not is entirely my own business," he said simply, and eyed her as she dropped her voice, a breathy whisper that was likely intended to entrance. For another male, he could see it working, but it only made him tense. If it had not been for Nyoka, he would have been swayed within moments of meeting her, but his mate was far more appealing.

"I would have noticed your lack of work, but beyond that, no, I likely wouldn't," he said calmly, but his gaze flicked to hers, meeting hers in a show of strength. He would not be swayed by the entertainer.

Tabia laughed, the sound like the breeze through the trees, colored by amusement, " Oh, you are cruel my king," her golden eyes sparkling at him undaunted by his insult. " We work very hard, our bodies trained as brutally as your fighters, as much work going into them. It is not all pretty trinkets and lovely veils."

She moved past him, the amusement still in her eyes as her tail slipped under his chin to flick over his muzzle, " You should let me dance for you and our lovely Queen, you might change your mind about how 'soft' the Entertainers are."

Nanashi quirked a brow at the entertainer, but he said nothing about whether he was being cruel or not. He was not being cruel purposely – or perhaps he was – he was merely being factual. “I don’t underestimate the strength, or the skill. Merely their importance, at times.” Now that was a jab at her. He knew their purpose, he just didn’t like it at times. He stared at her through rather dull eyes. He didn’t move away from her touch as she slinked passed him.

I thought the purpose of entertainers was to be soft?” He remarked, looking purposely quizzical before glancing her over. “I have no desire to change my mind, so it is Nyoka you would need to convince for permission.” Nyoka might be interested, Nanashi knew, but he rather hoped she wouldn’t give permission. Something about Tabia grated on Nanashi, perhaps the fact she would have been attractive to him, had he not had Nyoka.
