Isaol I signed the petition, without the protection the 'overpopulated' wolves will be over hunted in no time. There's no proof, rhyme, or reason they would be "over-hunted." This whole thread gave me a headache. I'm more concerned as to how our reckless government spending is going to impact my life, not that of wolves.

XxTwisted_Desire_PantsuxX ESPECIALLY THE U.S. cowardly sick pigs that have no right to be at such a place of power. Don't worry, China's gonna buy the US pretty soon! I hear we're on sale to the lowest bidder. And after that, India! heart

I should mention that a more effective tool than randomly signing your name to an online petition is to actually write to your senate and congress representatives. You can also write to other ones as well, expressing why it is a bad idea to take them off the endangered species list in real economic ways. The tourism and state beautification versus paltry hunting revenue, for example.
Just don't expect them to read any of those letters. If anything, their aids will read them. What makes a bigger difference is the number of letters from different people regarding the same issue. So, mass mailings really.
If you do want it to be read though, I'd recommend writing as short and info packed as possible. Remove as many prepositions and romantic language as possible. No "wolves are beautiful creatures with immeasurable contributions". Name the contributions, specify tourist experience, and specify perceivable atmosphere improvement for tourists. The first sentence should explain from the get go why tourism is worth more than hunting in regards to wolf populations.
This can actually be applied to a lot of things. Other animals can get the benefit of being scientifically valuable as well. Wolves don't exactly make cancer killing venom after all.

Even then the U.S. will still suck actually it'll suck even more........China's government sucks we'd be even further into what technically is "Slavery" than we are now.

It's like pot, it's illegal, but legal for those who have a special piece of paper saying they can do it, people still do it illegally. If it becomes legal, it'll give more people a chance to try it out without getting in trouble. They may like it, tell their friends, now their friends like doing it. They decide to do it for fun. They do it all the time now. Wolves are then all gone. Get it? No? If you prevent someone from doing something for a long time, then all of a sudden let them do it. Everyone will want to try it. As far as the headache goes. Advil, or Tylenol, or oxycodone.

I don't understand the marijuana thing, though.

They do it all the time now. Wolves are then all gone. Get it? No? If you prevent someone from doing something for a long time, then all of a sudden let them do it. Everyone will want to try it. Hunting and marijuana are pretty different things. For one, you have to invest in expensive equipment to hunt. Most people don't have any experience hunting and wouldn't want to. Also, the vast majority of people would rather be eco-tourists than hunt. I'm saying that quite honestly. Whether or not that tourism is helping the environment or not is another story. Planting a giant hotel nearby with casino and 5 fast food restaurants isn't going to help the area, but it's not going to magically get people into hunting. The problem with marijuana is that it's cheap and easily gotten, even when illegal. So yeah, you legalize it and there probably will be more people trying it. But marijuana is really and argument on it's own and very separate from hunting. (Off topic ranting) It should either be legal, or alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine (stimulant) should be illegal, along with many over the counter meds requiring doctor's approval. Can't have a society that pops pills and drugs itself daily and say "well, you can't have this virtually harmless drug because we say so!".
