A soft purr entered her throat as the hyena nuzzled her cheek along her own. This wasn't at all what she had expected the night to bring, but the realization that there was love (even if it was a bit uncommon) warmed her soul. The love she felt for the hyena would only grow day by day, and for the first time in a long time she didn't feel quite so alone.

Oh, certainly, she had her cubs and a pride to support her, but . . . with Beo, knowing that he cared, she felt as if she finally found someone to compliment her. Someone she could trust, someone to fall back on if life grew difficult. . . .It was a good feeling, and one she didn't want to so easily forget. "It will be beautiful, won't it?" She agreed softly, unable to tear her orange gaze from him. If someone had told her she would fall for a hyena, she would have scoffed. But now that he was here. . . species didn't matter.

As he suddenly quipped about the den size, Yejide couldn't help but laugh. Pups! Who would have thought. . . . "Perhaps my position should have been nanny. I have a feeling between the two of us, we're going to have quite the mixed family. . . but. . . I wouldn't want it any other way." They'd be together, and that was what counted.
