[PRP] Vikings and Pirates (Lucivar, Omari)

Things were changing all around Omari and the young lion wasn’t sure he liked it. His mother had left her crew and was now spending more time with her growing cubs. She had also adopted and Omari didn’t really know what he was supposed to do with his younger siblings so he tried to ignore them whenever possible – unfortunately, it wasn’t very often that he could get some time on his own nowadays.

Omari’s dark mane was growing steadily as he reached adolescence and the blue-eyed lion knew the day when he’d leave his mother and the corsairs to join the adult males for his pirate training was fast approaching. He was now moving towards the pride border and while he did pass by many adults, the ones that noticed him – that is, the ones that weren’t completely inebriated – most likely confused him for a new addition to the the crews. That was fine by Omari and he moved undisturbed towards his goal with an air of someone who is doing exactly what he is supposed to be doing – a little trick he'd picked up from his clever sister, Zamora.

He could tell the pride scents were getting fainter and his heart beat a little faster, an unusual excitement taking over the young sand-colored lion as he looked around for anything that he could use to make interesting adornments. Honestly, so far it wasn't that much different from the pride lands.

Long, powerful legs strode through the undergrowth, sleek muscles rippling under tan and chocolate hide with each gliding stride. Blond mane rippled as the wind passed over the thick fur, causing the adolescent to lift his head and pause, ice-blue eyes closing as he scented the breeze. It was a lovely crisp morn with the wind coming in off the ocean, and Lucivar was enjoying the opportunity to stretch his legs and explore away from his pride's boarders. Without a real destination in mind he was letting his instinct guide him, following the light tug of the wind in his mane.

He was glad the last of the pain from his most recent Challenge fight had faded. Indeed the only remaining markers from the very busy week were the new healing scars that littered his body. Slash marks across his muzzle, a bite-wound that was hidden in the ruff of his growing mane, and the long jagged claw-wounds that traced from shoulder to hip on his left side, the scars pink and shiny with fresh skin and his flank was still rather tender as he walked.

Pausing he scented the breeze again, as a new smell was carried to him. Another lion, and not one he knew, which was hardly surprising out this far into the roguelands... curious and in a relatively good mood, he set out once again, this time his eyes were scanning the bushes and trees in the area, seeking the stranger.

Omari had a sudden urge to stop what he was doing and look around. The young pirate hadn’t heard anything, seen anything or smelled anything that could be in any way interpreted as a threat. He just found himself feeling somewhat anxious all of a sudden. It was just a feeling, a nagging impression that grew in his mind and tightened his chest, telling him that maybe he had to be careful. He suddenly wished Knut was with him.

As he looked around, the young lion didn’t see anything worth mentioning. The lands around him were mixture of pale greens and browns and Omari didn’t spot any movement at first. And yet, the feeling remained. The young lion’s blue gaze searched for the way from which he’d came from, wondering if perhaps if perhaps he was being followed. Just how far had walked from the pride’s border?

The medallian around his neck swayed slowly as he sauntered along, occassionally catching the light as it bumped bakc and forth against the fur of his chest. But since he had been wearing it since he was a cub and had repeatedly tripped over the thing, he didn't even feel the regular taps as it moved against him. Its presence as natural to him as the impact of his paws upon the earth.

Suddenly something up ahead caught his attention. The fleeting impression of spotted fur and a dark mane. Arching a brow he grinned. A lion? Meeting strangers this far out was to be expected, but Luicvar was in no mood for a fight, not after the last week, so he was completely relaxed and at ease as he continued forwards. Maybe they would have a story or two to share, or at the very least be able to tell him where he was. Not that he was lost, but he was sure there had to be more than just unclaimed land out here.

Someone was here. He wasn't quite sure who - or, perhaps more importantly, where - but there was an unfamiliar presence nearby. He growled quietly deep within his chest and took a fighting stance. It was all bravado, of course, as Omari had yet to begin his training with a Crew but he puffed his chest before lowering his head. He wasn't feeling particularly territorial only a little defensive, hating the familiar feeling of not knowing from where to expect an attack. Well, having annoying brothers tended to teach you to mind your surroundings...

"Who's there?" He roared to the unknown, though careful not to be too loud. He didn't want to attract the attention of the older males of his pride and end up being caught where he shouldn't be.
