Thanks for your offer.
Back to the topic, I hears many Christian says, those who put their trust in Jesus, are promised paradise.
My question is, does this mean that a believer should also do good deeds in order to get a place in heaven, aside from putting their absolute trust that Jesus is the savior?
Can a Christian who commit sins (such as murder) enter paradise too? Since it was said that Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sin. Which mean we are sinless now, even if we commit murder?
That is a very common misconception
"No one can enter the Kingdom of Heaven but through me." - John 14:6
It's not just putting absolute faith in Jesus Christ, but letting him into your heart. Living your life for God.
THe forgiveness of sins is a misunderstood area. Say someone killed 12 people. He was athiest. The day he was to be put to death, he prayed to God and asked for forgiveness, guilty of what he did, ashamed. Then he would be forgiven. Now if he killed someone, never got caught, but still prayed to God with guilt in his heart and ashamed of his actions, he would be forgiven.
It's more than asking forgiveness. You must MEAN it. You must WANT to let it not happen again. To stay clean of that sin. One cannot give lip service to Him and expect to be forgiven.
That answer your question?
Yes, it does.
Why do newborn should be baptized? I hears many Christian says that babies are born sinful as they carries the sin of their parents. The Holy Water acts as a purify or cleansing to the baby.
Or was it just a mythology? I mean from what I understand, if Jesus had died for our sin, they why do babies are burden with their parents sin? What if the parents are the believers? Like you said, of course they also normal human and they commit sin, but I find it quite strange that a newborn baby should bear another people sin, when they know nothing of the world. They should be pure and sinless.
Please clear this concept for me. : )
The baptism of infants is more up to the denomination. Catholics and Lutherans believe in infant baptism. Baptists do not. It al depends on the denomination. personally, I'd rather my child WANT to be baptized. To KNOW what it means to be baptized.
And reproduction in the current method is a sin. Adam and Eve were created by His own hand, as were their children meant to be. So some denominations baptize infants so they become sinless. Other believe children, not knowing right from wrong, are innocent for a time.
So the children are sinful because they are produced with scientific method? It's not that they want it to be that way, is it? It's the person who made them to be born that way are the actual sinner, is it not?
And what if the baby is an illegal child? Is the child also sinful? Does the child carries the sin of his/her parents?
As I said, it depends on the denomination.
Though all denominations (Except Catholic and Lutheran) agree that until the child understand right from wrong, they are considered sinless. Though, yes, they are unclean because they were born, it was not a sin they chose.
