The question really which is better in what power, stealth or how cool it looks. Also it depends on the wielder and it depends on their power level. I will use Naruto and Sasuke for my examples it we are looking at sheer power Naruto using the Rasengan was much more powerful than the Chidori. But also if we look at stealth the Chidori is a lot better to use. And coolness factor the Chidori looks cool but so does the Rasengan.... so really it just depends on how you look at it..
personally i dont like either i like the 128 divine strike that Neji uses but that is an entire different subject.

It would be hard to get a stealth hit with the chidori with it being so loud and all. But it is a speed jutsu so maybe.
