Payaso was just getting up and moving groggily outside of her elephant skull den when she heard some rustling coming from the elephant skull to her left. She was used to noise coming from the skull to her right, where a crazy scout and his shadow lived. The shadow was worth mentioning because the neighbor on the otherside seemed to think his shadow could get away from him.
The skull on the left, however, had been empty for some time, and Payaso wasn't used to anyone being there. It was probably another new hyena - there had been a slight influx of late.
Payaso emerged from hers, and stood outside the neighboring den.
"Hello? Anyone in there?"

Chifundo scratched at the cold floor, debating on making it her new-new home. New-new because her first new home had been the Mava'Bunda lands. She had recently been "recruited" into the pack, but she was grateful rather than resentful. The muted tone hyena wasn't the most assertive creature in the rogue lands which has ended up in a few in more than a few distasteful events. Protection in numbers and a tight knit community is what she craved and the pack gave her that, and she'd gladly offer her small knowledge in healing in return.
So, here she was, scratching a bones to find a more permanent den she could call her own. If it were abandoned, it would be per--
"Hello? Anyone in there?"
Oops. Guess not.
"I'm terribly sorry! I thought this den was empty. If it's yours I'm more than happy to be on my way!" Chifundo sputtered out, mildly panicked that she might have already stepped on someone's paws.

Payaso wasn't expecting the response to be so panicked. "Calm down, that den is empty, it's been empty ever since I have been here. You're welcome to it. I just wanted to see who was over here."
Yup, this hyena had to be brand new to the pack, otherwise she would have known skulls were up for grabs, and if you let someone take your skull, tough cookies for you. Dens got swapped and changed around, so it was best not to get to attached to one anyway.
"And I wanted to give you a heads up that the guy on the other side of me is crazy, so if he starts raving at you, don't be scared. He's nuts, but harmless."

She let out a sigh of relief, "Oh, well then! I suppose I'll be your new neighbor for a while. I'm Chifundo; you are...?" She grinned, happy too have met someone so helpful so quickly.
Though the gray hyena did wonder if what the other female said was true about the crazy guy. Was he really crazy? She hadn't met anyone like that before.
"Thank you for the warning! I'll keep that in mind," she added simply.

"The name's Payaso. The guy on the other side is Fulathela, but the skull on the other side of you should be empty. Just, if you see him running at you, be prepared to dodge. He seems to think his shadow can get loose and attack others or something on its own, so he's always trying to catch it. Then he talks about it. Just be alert, and tolerate him when he comes around. Other then advise on the crazy neighbor, though, what brings you here? It's not the greatest of places, really."
The Elephant Graveyard was no paradise, and hyenas usually had their own reasons for coming and staying. As far as Payaso knew, her neighbor stayed because he was off his rocker; she stayed because she liked to hate lions in peace, occasionally with others who also hated lions, and she was curious why Chifundo would settle here.
