[Not sure who ended up on top, so ima roll with obscurity~!]
Somewhere between the wobbly mass of cubs and Inadu's scaling, the bag was nicked. The paw that had done the deed probably would have made for a compelling victory...if they had had the chance to even see it. The second the bag felt the slightest of tugs, the centuries old fabric failed and suddenly shards of a heavy gold object rained down upon them. And they didn't rain down lightly. A venerable monsoon of gold, metal and stone rained down on the heads of the cubs.
Kio gave a high pitched yelp as one of the gold shards bonked her on her head, sending the tower of cubs toppling over as she fell. The clanging of metal against rock continued for quite a few seconds as the contents drained. The very last object to fall from the bag? A crude ape skull, which rolled aside and drew a cleft in the sand.
"Owww," Kio groaned, rubbing her paws over her head. The onslaught of objects had all but adorned the children in various riches- and the little red cub struggled to free herself from a rope necklace. "Are you okay, Inu?" She gaped.
"...Uh, everyone, I mean," the red child quickly corrected. She snapped off the ancient clasp by pressing her paws at the cord. Beads popped off in a torrent, and she watched as they rolled away in the sand. Strange things indeed! They seemed pretty, but as to what they were... "What are these things?"
"A very good question!" Came a sudden voice. Kio flinched, half expecting her mom. And while the lioness before them was indeed black, she was no Ea. Naseera grinned toothily, all but tripping over herself as she looked over the scattered riches. "What do you all think these things are?~~"
Kio squinted her eyes at the big cat. Wait a second...

In an instant, Keahilani found himself under a pile of other cubs. And gold... Lots of gold... He struggled his way out, seeming to pop out of under both sister and cousin, tumbling in the sand. And when he landed, he came face-to-face with the skull. If he was older, the scream he let out would have been declared undignified by his father and he'd have been smacked. As but a cub, though, he would get away with it, including scrambling away from the skull. Blue eyes turned toward the shiny objects now, and he quickly forgot the skull, not even seeming to care about the lioness that had shown up. He reached a paw out, poking a strange band.
Herself getting free of the pile, Soleil soon found herself looking in awe at the objects. Necklaces, bracers, all sorts of things... Like her brother, she didn't seem to pay the lioness much mind, too enthralled by the discovery. "Treasure..." She'd heard their mother's eagle speak the word before, during stories of far-off lands and wonders and prides. Gold eyes turned to watch the beads, before scooping one up with her paw. After admiring it... She tossed it. Without the string, it was useless now. As she contemplated keeping one, something suddenly occurred to her. "How did this all get up there...?" Her gaze turned to where the former bag had been wedged. "And how long's it been there?"

Large, round eyes grew wide with a mix of horror and surprise when the bag shredded to produce a flood of hard, glinting objects which clanked far louder against the soft bodies of the cubs lined up in the tower than they did as they hit the sand. Staring down at the collapsed pile of fur mixed beneath strings of sun-colored and sparkling, brightly colored rocks Inadu finally gathered her wits enough to close her gaping maw and answer her sister. Mirroring Kiowaa's concern. I'm okay... are you?
After all, it had appeared that a chunk of yellow rock had hit Kio squarely in the head and her sibling thought she could see the dent it had left in the fur upon her crown. Slightly worrying to say the least. About to answer the rising tide of questions with more questions, Ina loosened the grasp of her claws on the rock. Sliding towards the base until her stretching hind paws finally touched sand. Before she could say anything, however, the sound of yet another unfamiliar voice made her turn sharply. Frowning at the unfamiliar and shady looking female Inadu flicked her tongue at the stranger, almost as if tasting the air, before backing towards the rest of the group with uncertainty. For some reason, she suddenly felt like calling out for her mother.
