Hey!

So I live in a very windy city and I was wondering if there was a substitute I could use for candles, yes I know I can work inside instead, but there is something about being outside under the moon that just makes the entire process better in my opinion.

So any suggestions?

For lighting? Or for something else?

What about using a lantern or a hurricane candle holder?

Well you could use anything. You could use a rock.

For elements I tend to go with physical representations whenever possible, rather than candles. Currently on my altar, I have two crystals that represent the God and Goddess. I'd prefer to have actual statues, but I've never come across any that I've really liked.

If you need to represent fire, but don't want to (or can't) use a candle or open flame, you can use a blade of some sort, an item that is red in color, or even a hot pepper. I actually have a glass paperweight thing - that says "imagine" on it - that represent the creative energies of fire.

Or if you want something that looks like candles, without actually being candles, you could buy some of those LED tealights. They even flicker to simulate the light of real flames, but of course, without blowing out, or inadvertantly catching anything on fire. xd

I absolutely adore lanterns. They keep much of the air out and they just add so much to the decor!

But considering the time of year, perhaps obtain some small gourds and make "lanterns" with them? Granted, they won't last you very long, but they'll no doubt add to the whimsey and the fragrance should be heavenly!

Apples can be used like that too.
