Meet Jibwa'jamani and Bashasha, and their brand new family! To start with, here's a little background info:
Quote:
This 'litter' is (obviously) two litters, but they'll be raised as true siblings. The proud parents are Jibwa'jamani and Bashasha, with production assistance from Baridi'Akali and Dharuba. They were born a few days apart (puppies first), but otherwise will be together and treated just the same by mom and dad. Jibwa is a former swampie who met Shasha on his name quest, but initially they pushed their feelings away and he went home. He couldn't take it, though, and left to find her again after several months of fighting with himself.

Wanting a family, but obviously unable to create sweet canine-feline hybrids, they got some help. Jibwa had the hard part, since he had to find a lioness who'd breed with him and give him the cubs, which is where Bari came to the rescue. Once that was underway, Shasha found herself a one-night male, and that is how we got to here.

Once the cub-puppies are old enough to start asking 'WTF is up why do we look different?,' Jibwa and Sha will explain it to them :3. They're rogues, but they need to stay with their family until adolescence (they went through a lot of trouble to have these babies, so they're going to hold onto them!).

This contest is for a semi-custom wild dog puppy From the Dharuba/Bashasha litter. It will be open for two weeks. To enter, please post the following:

Pup's Name: I'd like his pup name to be given by his parents and I'd like for him to go on a "name quest" like his father did, he'll change his name to: Galen'Adisa [GAY-len] (The calm one, whom is clear)
Pup's Gender: Male
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? Love the grayscale
Please describe your pup's personality: Galen is proud and steadfast, although a little thick headed, very loving, humorous and family oriented. Mixed with the naivety of being a pup, the little curious lad has quite a lot of exploring to do, and certainly fun to be had. Around adolescence he'll begin taking long walks, which very shortly became longer and longer. After becoming an adult, Galen will take the difficult step to discover what the universe has in store for him, away from his parents. Perhaps when he settles down, it will be not to far away from his parents, certainly not in a pride (too many family restrictions).
RP Prompt Response:
Galen looks around and closely studies every member of his family, in his mind the gears were turning, but they were still forming so it took a little while. What he deuces is that him and his siblings were a gift to the world made from love, what could be wrong with that?
Since there were more lions than wild dogs, that must mean that wild dogs are better, right? A grin crept across his face as he was about to announce his conclusion, but he stopped himself as his eyes fell to his lion siblings that were all sitting together, gears also turning. These are the same brothers and sisters I woken up with since he was born, they all received the same amount of love and attention.
This whole different species thing was more troubling to him than that the younger lions were not truly blood. As he listened to the others, he came to his final conclusion and waited for his turn to speak.
When the time finally came, all that came out of his mouth was, "I have the best family." And Galen smiled.
When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? His feelings he deduced from discovering his father, brothers, and sisters were not of his species was what he stuck with throughout his life; although it was expanded upon. His family had to go through more challenges and held together firmly, therefore it could be argued that there was more love in his family than that over traditional families. He'll always be searching for more information and perspectives on family values from various species on various walks of life. The bonds he made with his family, will last for his whole life. I'd like for him to be best friends with one of his lion siblings.

Pup's Name: Kuenea'Heri - spreads happiness
Pup's Gender: Male
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? Sha's browns! I just love rich colors.
Please describe your pup's personality: Kuenea'Heri is a cheerful pup. He loves his family, and loves to make them smile or laugh. He's the first to try and cheer up his siblings if they're hurt, sick, or just having a bad day. The downside to this happiness, however, is that he doesn't always understand graver situations, and doesn't really.... get... that sometimes everyone just needs to be a little sad or angry for a bit. He has little conception of evil of harmful things, as well, because who would ever want to make anyone unhappy, ever?
RP Prompt Response:
Kuenea'Heri flicked an ear thoughtfully as he looked around at his gathered family. His dark sister had just been pounced on by his pale brother, and was whimpering softly from unhappiness. Kue was about to go to her, to try and free her from his brother's large paws, when for the first time, he really looked at these two siblings. His sister looked a lot like him - small, with large ears, while his brother had large paws, a comparatively flat face, and a tuft of fluffy fur on his head and tail.

Why did they look so different? Come to think of it, some of his siblings looked like mom, while some looked like dad. Some looked like no-one with their colors... but not a single one looked like both. More confused than he had ever been thus far in his short life, Kue trotted over to his mother and asked her what was going on with his family. What followed was a confusing chat that actually managed to replace his ever-present smile with a thoughtful frown.

With wiser eyes, now, he looked over his siblings. Some were wild dogs, the others were lions. That was why they all looked so different. He wondered how he had never noticed it before. But... did it really matter? His siblings were his siblings, none of them could help what they were! His smile returned quickly and he hopped to his paws, heading over to his pale sister, offering her a happy grin and a new joke he had thought up that morning.

Family was family - who cared if some were felines and others were canines? As long as everybody was happy, it was all perfectly fine!
When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? Honestly, Kue's never going to have a problem with his odd family, nor even think that there's really anything strange about it. After all, his parents are happy together, and his siblings are all treated the same, so why would it be a problem? He finds absolutely nothing wrong with interspecies romance or his puphood, and his only regret about it is how those who disapprove hurt his family in a way that he can't fix.

Pup's Name: Behiye - “beautiful”
Pup's Gender: Female
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? Sha's browns, I love natural colors
Please describe your pup's personality: Behiye is a curious pup and she loves to be sneaky. It is common to find that she has gone missing only to notice her trying to sneak through some tall grass. She is also prone to pouncing on her siblings. Behiye loves to explore and try new things. She is constantly asking questions to learn new things and could become a great annoyance to her parents in this regard. It is most likely that she will also wander off by herself chasing after some butterfly or insect. Behiye will try to be independent but if she ever gets lost, she'll be frantic to find her family again.
RP Prompt Response: Behiye had woken up in the early morning before the rest of the family could wake up. She had a big grin on as she slowly made her way to her father, crouched low to the ground like how he acted when on a hunt. The sky was still dark but the horizon had the beginnings of light touching it. Just as she was about to leap up onto her father, a realization came to her. Mother and father didn't look the same.

The thought made her sit back on her haunches with a tilted head. Her curious little mind was thinking as Behiye looked to her siblings. Now that she noticed how father looked different from mother, she now realized that some of her siblings looked different from her. Behiye really want to know why. Of course, she still loved her family. It was just really interesting to her that they didn't look alike. Maybe they were a special family.

Wanting her questions answered, she gently tugged on her father's ear. As soon as he opened his eyes, Behiye asked him in a whisper, “Papa, how come we don't all look alike?” An innocent question that was accompanied by an equally innocent look and a curious expression. He explained it to her as best he could, though Behiye couldn't really understand all of what he was saying. But she understood the part about them being a true family even if they looked different. That made her smile. So they were a special family.

Satisfied with her father's answer, she curled up against him and promptly fell back asleep.

When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? Behiye will finally have her question as a pup fully answered. Her feelings about her family will never change even after she finds out that they are not truly related. To her, their souls will be related and that is all that really matters. Family will forever be defined by love over blood ties. In the end, she'll be glad with her parents' decision. Behiye would definitely want to seek out her real father to find out more about him.

Pup's Name: Shida
Pup's Gender: Male
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? both
Please describe your pup's personality: Shida means trouble in Swahili so he will be mischievous, adventurous, and of course.... troublesome.
RP Prompt Response:
Your pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings! They are, in fact, two separate species - your pup and three of its sibs are wild dogs like mom, the other five are lions like dad. How does it react to the news?
Finding out the news shocked the pup. As knowing that there was a certain reason why he looked different than his lion siblings, he didn't realize that they were different species though! The news made Shida restless, being questionable to everything... even questioning himself, lowing his self-esteem. After a while, Shida decides to wander off away from his family...
When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? He will learn that his family is special and that those around him love him the most.

Pup's Name: Amaryllis - "Pridefulness"
Pup's Gender: Male
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? Dhar's Greyscales.
Please describe your pup's personality:
You would be mistaken in assuming that Amaryllis had an ego or sense of arrogance. On the contrary, this young pup certainly has pride to an extent, but it's a pride that comes from his heritage and love of his family. Fiercely loyal, he would do anything for his family to keep them safe or happy. Admittedly, he is the sort to have a little bit of an eccentric view on the world and will often think 'outside the box', but this is predominantly down to being a creative and artistic individual.

He's of typically average intelligence with most of his strengths revolving around arts, crafts and performance as opposed to warfare and defence. However, he does make for a good student and cannot be faulted for his determination and work ethic.

RP Prompt Response:
Your pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings! They are, in fact, two separate species - your pup and three of its sibs are wild dogs like mom, the other five are lions like dad. How does it react to the news?

He was confused.

He had been raised in an environment where he was not subject to the differences between himself and his siblings. It was through lack of exposure that he had developed in this way and this was to prove both a blessing and a curse. It was a blessing in the sense that he had learned to love all his siblings unconditionally despite their appearance. He had been raised in an environment where appearances were only 'skin deep' and as such, overall appearance was unimportant. However, a chance encounter with an outsider had changed all that.

...They'd expressed confusion, even disgust at the 'odd' family and a touch disconcerted, Amaryllis had puttered off to find his parents for support. He had anticipated that they would have a sensible explanation, but the one they gave him, was not what he had expected. According to his mother, his siblings and he were different because they were two different 'species'...whatever that meant.

He was a 'wild dog' like his mother, while his siblings with the smaller and rounder ears were 'lions'. They were at their very essence, fundamentally 'different'. Unsurprisingly he hadn't reacted terribly well to the news and his young mind couldn't fathom the true weight of this revelation. He'd been raised for months under the view that they were all the same but now...

The young pup had much to deliberate on.

Or did he really?

The bare bones of the issue was that they looked different, but deep down all his siblings were just that, his siblings. He adored them, played with them and knew nearly every little thing about them. So what if they were slightly bigger than him or had rounder ears? When push came to shove weren't they still family? They had the same mother and father, so that made them genuine siblings in his books. However there was just one tiny thing that did need to be answered if there were fundamental issues with each species reproducing.

Thus, it was with one ear cocked and the other perked that Amaryllis turned to both parents and wrinkled his nose. "Where do babies come from?" he asked curiously.

When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything?
Having been raised in a rather unique family unit, he is almost guaranteed to accept and love both his canine and feline siblings unconditionally. While it might be bizarre to an outsider, this is his family, his friends and more importantly, those he has loved and known all his life. Should an individual try to question this, he will be quick to defend his family's position in society - however, if an individual elects not to mention it then he won't make issue of it either.

As a result of his parents, he will be a very tolerant and understanding wild dog, appreciating that while things may not necessarily make sense from a personal perspective, they make perfect sense to those involved. He's going to be highly unlikely to poke fun at anyone different or unusual.

Pup's Name: Sharifa (Truthful, virtuous in swahili)
Pup's Gender: Female
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? Both! <3 (Also love the two pale cubs near-white colour)
Please describe your pup's personality: Playful and mischievous she is a classic puppy, getting her nose into everything and learning about her world via trial and error. As she grows she does learn all about responsibility and honor. She will never loose her enthusiasm for life, being rambunctious as a youth and growing into a true tom-boy of a female. She loves her family dearly and thinks being as unique as they are is pretty cool.
RP Prompt Response:
The new hadn't been a total surprise, she had possessed a suspicion for quite some time that something was up with her family. It was not even the fact that they were not even the same species that threw her, it was the fact that they weren't blood related. Her dad was not her real dad in terms of the biological sense... and that opened up a whole area of questions as to just who he had been. But... she was a reasonable girl and as she spent time alone thinking it all through, she realised something. Of her two fathers, only one of them had been there for her throughout her life... only one of them tucked her in at night and soothed her when she woke with night terrors. Her mom loved him and she loved him.. she also loved her siblings, all of them. What did this random thing called genetics have to do with the love and warmth her family gave her? Yes she was curious about this male who she partially resembled, but if all he had given her was the colour of her fur, then he really wasn't such an important factor in her life compared to her mom and dad and her siblings.

Eventually she had gone back to her family, her real family, and immediately set about tormenting her brothers, as all boys were Icky!

When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? Of course she had spotted something was different about their parents as she grew up and they met other lions and wild dogs in the roguelands. It took her a while to figure it out though, as she truly believedall her siblings were her siblings. It was only when their parents explained to it her that she really understood, and though fora few days she was thrown by the whole thing, in the end she came to the conclusion that they had been a family for always, and what genes they carried didn't make their feelings any less. She is really rather proud of her parents for fighting for their love of each other, and though she is now very confused about weather she should look for a wild dog mate, or if she wants a lion for herself... she is happy to leave that particular issue for fate to work out for her. To say she is open-minded is an understatement, and her future love may be a surprise to even her liberal-hearted parents.

Pup's Name: Nasrin- wild rose (Persian) Smira -entertaining (Persian) once name quest is done)
Pup's Gender: Female
Do you like Sha's browns, Dhar's grayscale, or both? I like them both
Please describe your pup's personality: Narsian loves life and everything about it. If you sat her down and asked her she'd tell you she loves 'being me', sure there is heart ache, and being a rogue is tough on the whole group of them, but there is also adventure, and beauty, and her family who gave up so much to have them. Live is meant to be lived, so dang it, go out and live it! ( this often get her in trouble and some of her siblings as well) If life wasn't supposed to be there to enjoy why did the gods give it to them? Its the best present of all! No wasting it!
RP Prompt Response:
Your pup has just learned that not all their siblings are really their siblings!  They are, in fact, two separate species - your pup and three of its sibs are wild dogs like mom, the other five are lions like dad.  How does it react to the news? A little shocked at first, its a lot for a young pup to take in, but then she remembers how neither of her parents or her siblings have ever treated any of them as any thing other then one big happy family. So some of them are lions, and some wild dogs, that just means when they grow up, they are going to be a force to be reckoned with. CAN you imagine the type of hunting party they are going to make? With the smaller, selvet dogs running the game right into the larger lions waiting paws, its gonna be great! And think about the name quests, what kind of adventure is that gonna be! She bets her and her siblings are gonna be the first wild dogs to ever do that! NOW that is entertainment, a legacy to be passed down to no matter who they mate with! WOW! This is great. Looking over at her unique and perfect family, she pounces the first one with a mock growl, practicing for those later game hunts, and hell, just for the fun of it!
When your pup is older, how will it feel about everything? Even if he dad isn't a Swampie any more and gave him some grief over what she guessed was considered taboo among them, she is gonna stick to her family and to her dad's tradition and her mom's. She'll go on that name quest to make her father proud, and really, nothing can bring her down. She's tough as nails, and once she gets her teeth into something she won't let go, under that devil may care attitude and bard like entertainer, there is a strength that keeps her going and anyone else who needs it. Her family is her family, and that is that. Smiara has a Wild dog's courage ,with a Lion's heart.
