Under the appearance section, the Description is a text version of what your character looks like. And the Personality Description is where you would put what he's like.

I may be mistaken, but squad 9 captain is filled. I think Lieutenant is still open though. When Kya logs on, she'll confirm.
Edit: I really do like your character though.
