Jitokeza took a step back, taking his daughter with him, glaring down at Fido as they both reacted to his intervention. It was probably better that he couldn't get a good look at S'chor as she tried to justify the fight- she was far better at drawing sympathy out of the dark lion than the boys.
Fido froze almost as soon as he heard his father's voice, which ultimately made it easier to remove his sister. He didn't get up out of the water immediately either, instead he stared up at his sister and father-- until S'chor tried to tattle on him.
"She called me an evil spirit!" he cried, flailing until his feet found the ground and he pushed himself back upright. He looked up at his father expectantly, fighting the urge to glare at S'chor.
Sighing, he took another step back and set S'chor down on the ground so he could talk to them both.
"That doesn't mean you should fight like that," he said, frowning at each of them. It was convenient neither tried to say the other had started it- and he could see it starting with either thing, "If you can't play nice by yourselves, you'll have to stay at home with me and your mother."
He looked back and forth between them.
"You can save the story for there," he said, not giving either a chance to argue, "Come on."
