Theluji peaked out from under the covers she'd hidden in all night after all staying tensely still for as long as it took for the males to tend to her with smelling herb bits and force her to eat the meat they'd brought into the cave. She'd eaten small bites and pieces until feigning exhausted sleep. Theluji was sure they knew she hadn't fallen asleep at that moment, but she couldn't take their attention any longer. That was probably what had made them back off finally.

Dawn was coming shortly, and Theluji was very happy for the meal and the herbs. She was strong enough to disappear now. She was still exhausted from the almost drowning and from staying up the entire night, but she could survive until she got somewhere away from here.

She slipped out from beneath the furs, and slowly, as silently as she could, left the cave. The sky still dark from the predawn, but the black sea was calm, beautifully calm after last nights storm. Theluji still stayed away from the shoreline. She didn't want to be pulled back out and need to be saved. Again. By the same male. She needed to leave.

Once Theluji was far enough from the cave not to be seen or hear, she started to run in the direction she had arrived in yesterday. She remember the way out as the way in and it wasn't hard for her to piece where she'd go to sleep and hunt. There was a fresh water stream about a half days run from the beach. She could have fish and find a nook to sleep in.

Theluji missed stepped, her paw landing on a slippery rock, gashing her front right leg open. She collasped, trying not to make a sound, gritting her teeth together. The blood seeped from the gash and rocks and pebbles and whatever sand was actually on the beach scraped against the open wound.

Erlendr had heard her stir, and knew she had not slept the night, it made him wonder why she seemed so fearful of males in general. It must have had something to do with her past, but that was her secret to keep, and his not to ask. As long as she had eaten the meat Luc had brought along with the herbs rubbed into it, she would be fine.

He cracked one eye as she slipped around him, suppressing a low rumbling chuckle. She was going to have to work on her stealth. It was not her strong suit. Once she was free of the cave, he stood up with a yawn and stretched, his hind end up in the air, forward legs flush to the ground in the 'feline down' position of his morning routine.

The storm had left much debris all over the beach, and the Reaver frowned. The young lioness had gotten herself in trouble the day before not knowing the danger of the land she was in, for the wind swept cliffs of the Storm Born home was not kind.

His morning routine would have to wait. Scenting the air and ground, the big golden male headed in the direction she had taken, to at least see her safely to the borders of the Pride lands.

Theluji limped and hobbled over the debris rocks from the storm. She hissed every time she extended or contracted her front leg, but she continued to make her way to a clear spot on the beach next to the cliff-face. She was bleeding pretty bad; Theluji could feel the blood seeping from her wound and soaking into her fur, dripping down on to the ground. She needed to find a way to bind it before the fluffy males came looking for her. Theluji refused to belong to any one, but she refused to stay so long away from home and her mother.

She sat on her haunches in the small clear area of beach with her back against the cliff wall and tried to groom her fur around the wound. It was a slow seepage, but it wouldn't close. Every time she licked her fur clean in one spot, by the time Theluji finished cleaning another spot, blood recovered the cleaned fur.

Theluji looked around in desperation. And spotted sea weed. A lot of seaweed.

Erlendr had trailed her scent for less then a mile before the sharp irony smell of blood hit his nose. It made him toss his head up, and scent the wind again, yes that was blood, and it wasn't prey's. Over the scent of it was the young lion's.

Picking up his pace he found were she has slipped on the sharp jutting rocks, it took even less time to find her with her back against the cliff, in obvious pain, trying to bind a very serious cut to her foreleg with some seaweed.

Approaching slowly, keeping his posture as non threatening as he could, he spoke to her in his calm careful way, " Badly cut you are? Trust me, look let me please?"

Theluji started at the male's voice. She hadn't been paying any attention to her surrounds. Again. Seriously, if she didn't stop doing that, she was going to end up as someone's slave or worse. Never able to return home to mommy and the swamps.

She tried to hide her wound, but when she saw the fluffy male staring pointedly at her and it, she sighed and held out her leg. Obviously she wasn't doing a very good job of binding it or stemming the blood flow and he wasn't doing anything weird like that last fluffy lion she'd encountered by the waterfall. Or say anything weird. Just said everything backwards and sideways.

"I got cut on the rocks." She informed him, as if he couldn't figure it out for himself. Theluji was worried about the males, but so far this one hadn't proven to be anything like the last one or the ones at home that were scary, scary. Even if he had been following her. She wasn't going to think about that. Not until she could get escape without hurting or endangering herself.

Erlendr frowned at the slash, it was a fair bit deep, and would take some serious care and rest or she would always limp on that leg. Not good if she needed to hunt for herself.

" If asked you had, way out showed you would I have," he said softly as he undid the greeves on his forelegs, undoing the leather bindings with his teeth. Once he had worked them free, he looped one around her leg, right above the cut, and met her beryl eyes with his own, " Lie I will not, hurt this will, but blood must we stop."

With deft twists of his paw he began to tighten the leather, till the blood was only a trickle, then he slipped a sturdy piece of washed up wood between her fur and the leather, holding the turnikit(butchered that word) in place.

Theluji hung her head low as the male reprimanded her for her lack of trust and thoughtlessness. Or at least that was how it seemed to her. She nodded in acknowledgement when he told her of the pain, and tried to brace herself.

She was still unprepared, letting out an initial whimper of pain. After that one slip of weakness, for the most part, aside for a few uncontrollable tears, Theluji was able to remain strong and silent through the painful experience.

This male was really going above being nice. And paired with his backward, sideways speech, Theluji couldn't figure out if that was a good thing or bad thing. It made her want to trust the bright lion, whereas she'd hidden from the fluffy males in the pride out of sheer fear of their size and the boys she'd befriended and played with throughout her cubhood were all weird, not threatening. This lion seemed to fall into that last category. He didn't seem excessively large or too big to Theluji.

Theluji tried to discreetly and secretly study the lion as he continued to tend to her wound and cause her pain that wasn't his fault.

"Walk doubt you can, so once more up on back mine ride you shall." Laying back down onto the ground he waited for her to scramble up and get a hold of his mane again so that he could trot then both back to the den.

Once he was sure she was settled, he glided over the rough terrain smoothly, knowing it as well as he did his own tail. " Since stay you will longer seems, name mine is Erlender. Your's have I may?"

She blushed happy that the fluffy male, Erlender, wasn't looking at her. "I don't have a name. At least not anymore. Not since I started my journey, But I was once called Theluji. So I guess you can call me that."

Theluji tried not to squirm while Erlender made their way back to the cave from last night. Her leg tinged as he walked, and she tried to keep it still and straight, even though it wasn't broken. She figured that staying still had to help more than broken bones. Or so she hoped.

"Thank you, Erlender. And sorry for the trouble so far." Theluji muttered softly. She still didn't really trust fluffy males, but - but Erlender was acting differently than the others. Or she wasn't tainting the meeting in some weird way. Or she was tainting it, making him seem nicer than what he was. But how did one realize the truth? What was really happening? Tension within herself was only making her shiver, keeping her from being still and conserving energy. She decided to relax. She was going to have to depend on Erlender for some time, and it made no sense to be continuously tense and waiting for ther worst. "Sorry I didn't trust you enough to leave during the light."

" Stranger am I, wise to trust not till sure were you safe I was." Erlender made sure that he kept his pace even as he could till they reached his cave. Once there he lay back down so she could crawl off his back.

" Wise however not you were to think that safe it was at night. Hostile are Stormborn lands, Pride as much. Lucky you are only cut suffered."

The bright colored male went back to the end of the cave where he kept his herbs and other healing supplies he had used more then once when he had made his challenges to join the Pride. Rummaging he found what he needed and came back to where she sat.

" Why name was? New name you search for?"

Theluji relaxed even more as Erlender more or less praised her caution. She wasn't used to being praised by big fluffy males, at least not without the reason to catch her off guard. And especially not because she was being caution about them. Maybe that was the key. Backward-sideways speaking males were the best of the lot? Less scary once you got to know them and not as threatening as the ones that spoke all forwards and with as many twists as a sideways slithering serpent. What was it that made males, especially the big fluffy ones all scary and threatening? And apparently this Stormborn pride members were no different. Good thing she hadn't drawn attention to herself when the other male had visited Erlender. That she had stayed hidden in the bundle of furs he had wrapped her in.

"Theluji. I was once called Theluji, but I need my true name to return to my pride as an adult and so I'm looking for it." She settled onto the bundles that he lowered her onto as comfortably as she could with her injury. "Do you know where to look for a name?"

Erlendr began to clean out the gash with long, full sweeps of his tongue, being sure to clear away any gravel or seaweed she may have gotten into it before looking to have to undo the twisted tie above it that would let the blood flow again and wash away the rest. Then he would have to steam the blood flow from there.

Thinking about what she asked as he lay down another thicker, dried hide, so dried it was more like a piece of wood. Over that he laid another rabbit skin, and then her foreleg. Hare gut and a wicked looking claw that had to have once belonged to a hunting bird of some kind came out next before he spoke to her.

"Theluji..good name this is, but cub one seems. Once called I was Eusi'chosi, now Erlendr I am. Named so Luc by, Captain friend. Name one searches not, name comes when decides it will.

Theluji tried not to flinch or shy away from Erlender's tongue even though it rubbing agains the open sides of her wound felt abrasive. But she knew he was only acting to help her, to heal her and not to cause her pain or discomfort, so she stayed as still as she could manage and tried not to watch the way his head moved as his tongue ran across her leg.

A tingling fluttering sensation started it her stomach. Theluji ignored it. No good could come from a tingling fluttering stomach. It either meant she was getting sick, or ... nope wasn't going to pay attention to any of that.

Theluji cleared her throat. "So you had a cub name too? Were you once from the swamps and decided not to return after your quest?" Did she know this bright fluffy lion and not recognize him? She frowned in concentration as she tried to picture what pilgrim he resembled.

The name came to Erlender. Erlender didn't go to the name. So how was she suppose to attract an adult name to her? It wasn't like she hadn't been out searching for it for a short time. At least Theluji didn't think it was a short time since she had refused to track time while she was away from the swamps.

Erlendr chuckled as he threaded the hare gut through the claw, eyeing it to be sure it was sound before he set it aside and looked around for the three little red seeds he had placed near them.

" Swamps not from come I do. East, far from here is where my ancestors sleep. Traveled path my own from created one that was desired. Path here lead me. To Luc Captain and Pride Stormborn. Luc could say not my name, so give me one he did..Erlandr...Outlander, " the golden lion shrugged, " my before life was shed and this now have I.

He held up his paw, which was not as big as the other lion that had been there, not as...round and wide, it was leaner, more compact. Seeing the two, Luc was larger, but Erlendr could match him in muscle, it was only how that muscle was distributed that was different.

In it were three little bright red seeds, " Chew these, though feel funny will they make, but mask the pain they will as sew close the wound I do.For this you must trust Theluji. The first step on journey for name you must make. Choice is yours to make or not."

Theluji eyed the golden lion and the three red seeds. She didn't want to remain here, away from her mother and siblings and the swamps. She knew that's where she belonged but she needed her name. She needed to be able to return and so she needed her adult name.

Erlendr's direction and advise started with trust, but could she really trust? Should she? Biting her lip, Theluji acted quickly before she could talk herself out of it or into worse trouble. She lapped the seeds from his outstretched paw and crunched them before swallowing them.

They didn't taste very good, and Theluji was nervous about the way they'd make her feel. She didn't want to feel funny. Well, any more funny than she already did. But she was ignoring that. Yes, she was. And she'd acted without trusting Erlendr before, and look what happened. It wasn't like he hadn't been gentle and helpful all a long. He could have been like that other fluffy male by the waterfalls, but he hadn't acted in that terrible way.

"When are they .... thapotht to wahk?" Theluji felt the numbingness spread out across her tongue and she panicked, looking up at Erlendr with wide eyes. Her head was swmiming and Erlendr looked .... odd, more like a shining gold treasure than an actual lion. He had a halo? Theluji stared in confusion as her vision of her surrounding went all fun as well, blurred in some areas, sharpened in others. Distant things become closer and nearer things became farther. "Wahth'th gahinj hon?"
