Kasi eyed her opponent with a dull look on her face, neither impressed nor disappointed with the male. He looked to be a skilled opponent, but she had been let down before by supposedly 'good' opponents, so she didn't hold high hopes until they got into the battle details. She had been approached by the male and requested for a duel. Now, she never turned down a good duel, so she jumped paws first into the idea of fighting the newer member.
It wasn't a test duel, or anything, as he had already won at least one duel and gained entrance to the pride, but it was a test still. To make sure that the joining duel wasn't a fluke, or at least, that was how Kasi was viewing it.
"Ready?" She asked the male, tensing in her spot opposite the male.

Sozin smirked at the female. He hadn't chosen her for any particular reason, other than she had been in the duelling area training and he had been bored. He was training on his own, sure, but duelling was much more entertaining than running drills or anything. She was larger than most females he had seen in the rogue lands, but then again, everyone in this pride appeared to be larger than average.
Sozin was not. He was lithe muscle, not bulk, but that didn't make him feel disadvantaged. It made him feel...challenged. It was delightful.
"Always," he scoffed back, his smirk only growing as he added tauntingly, "ladies first."
Despite his taunt, he fell into a defensive stance, waiting for the female's first move.

Kasi growled lightly at the comment. 'Lady'? She was no lady. She was a soldier.
Well, if he was going to act chivalrous, then she was going to use it to her advantage. She stalked around him, eyeing him seriously before she smirked and leapt forward, feigning right and attacking to the left as he shifted to avoid it. The feel of fur underneath her paw as it connected with his hindquarters felt victorious and she gave a low rumbling growl as she dove back, away from him.

The feel of the hit was surprising and Sozin growled. Damn it. He had to stop underestimating people here! They were not stupid rogues, they were trained fighters. It wasn't a matter of gender for Sozin, though he had used the slight of 'lady' as he'd figured it would annoy the independent female. As the female dove back away from him, he followed her, and stretched out his paw, claws extended to swipe at her unprotected side as she tried to avoid his claws.
He felt them scrape across her side and roared sharply in success.

He was fast, she'd give him that, she mused as she snarled out loud as the claws raked down her side. Spinning back towards him, without giving him time to move away, she aimed her next blow to his face, catching the side of his face with the flat of her paw and hitting hard.
She didn't extend her claws. Not to his face, and she hadn't done so to the blow to his hindquarters either. She knew how to use her claws, but duels were not real fights, at least, these types were not real fights and she felt no need to scar another for the purposes of training. She could do significant damage simply with the force of a blow, without her claws.

Sozin let out an 'omph' as the paw caught him across the face, snapping his head to the side. A growl worked free of his throat as his cheek throbbed and his neck ached from the sudden twist. Though her claws were not extended, he tasted blood in his mouth from where his own teeth had cut the inside of his cheek from the blow.
He ducked and aimed low, barrelling into the female's legs. His smaller side gave him the advantage, and he felt his shoulder connect with the female.

The full body tackle was unexpected, a different attack from the previous painful blows, and it knocked her off balance, sending her stumbling backwards in the sand, trying to find purchase to regain her centre. She wasn't able to keep her balance though, and found herself falling to the soft sand below. She swiped out, unable to aim as she fell, and felt her paw connect with only air as she hit the sand roughly.
She growled, low and rough in her throat as she laid winded on the ground for a moment or two.

Sozin smirked as she female hit the ground and laid winded for the moment. "What's the matter?" He asked, smoothly, feigning concern. "Did that fall hurt more than just your pride?" He chuckled and swiped for where her face was, aiming a returning smack to the one she had given him, but his paw hit only sand and he snarled.

During his 'taunt', Kasi's eyes narrowed and she tensed, expecting the impending blow. Before his paw could hit her, she rolled to her side and bounced back to her feet. She was a fast fighter, that much she had proven before, and his annoyance at the miss made her smirk.
"What's the matter?" She retorted, voice lacking his carefully constructed mocking concern. "Getting slow in your old age?"
She felt slightly winded from her fall, but passed it off with a slight smirk as she stalked around the frustrated male.

His words were getting thrown back in his face. His eyes narrowed in annoyance. Not a good idea, little girl, he snarled inwardly. Do not mock me. He could feel his anger bubbling in his chest, but he forced it down.
No.
He would not lose this fight because he could not control his emotions. He would not allow himself to be taunted and lose control. Instead, he smirked, and copied the female's circling, the duo watching closely.
"Now, now, no need to be rude," he said smoothly.

Kasi was impressed. He had fire, but he did not allow it to consume him. Now, if he stopped being a jerk, he might have some decent potential. It was a pity his attitude was awful, Kasi thought, narrowed gazed as they continued to stalk one another around the sands.
She knew she should attack, but she dare not break eye contact with him to plan one, so she continued to stalk around him, watching him closely for any sudden moves.

How boring. Was she really just going to stalk him now? Pitiful. Clearly, it was up to him to end this 'fight' once and for all. He threw himself forward suddenly, aiming for her with precision and dropped his shoulder. Again, he connected with her legs and she went down.
Smirking, Sozin steadied himself as the female fell. "I believe...I win," he said, standing over her with a lofty expression upon his face.
Kasi: 3 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 2 = 11
Sozin: 3 + 3 + 1 + 2 + 3 = 12
Sozin wins.

Kasi hit the sand for a second time, wincing as the sand grated against her fur. She glared up at him from the sand, but had to concede. " You win," she admitted, and rolled back to her paws, panting lightly from the fight. She shot him a cool look as she shook the sand from her fur.
Not one to mince her words, especially around jerks, she couldn't help but throw over her shoulder as she stalked away from the duelling area, "you know, if you dropped the dumb attitude, and learnt more moves than 'tackle' and 'scratch', you might actually have potential. Maybe." He could do well, if someone didn't try to kill him for his attitude, and if he kept up taunting Kasi in particular, an attempted assassination attempt could come quickly. Her name didn't mean 'to quickly catch fire' for nothing, after all.
