The splash of paws in the thin layer of water and mud that began to cover the jungle floor was drowned out entirely by the harsh sound of winds and thunder, the sound of the heavy rain falling down on his home. The blue-stripped leopard slowly made his way through the familiar jungle, a lazy smile on his lips despite the rain that pelted him and the mud caking his fur.
His eyes were half closed, and he looked more like he was wandering his den half asleep, not trekking through the dangerous, stormy surroundings.
Still, this jungle... He knew it too well. He skirted the edges of sink-traps and gorilla territory like it was second nature. The long journey he had willingly suffered had been... enlightening, to say the least. His former mates infidelity, behavior and disappearance.. This things did not get past him, despite his absence. He had many ears and eyes in the jungle.
He'd long since dealt with the feelings that came with such betrayal.. But the sight of his home was hurting him none the less, as hard as it was to tell with his lazy, laid back manner.
Soon enough, he rounded a large cropping of threes that finally let his dual-colored eyes fall on the massive temple and surrounding ruins. Peering up them, he caught sight of sudden color against the greys and greens.. A bright ball of orange that brought a smile to his lips. He was home...
