Letting out a deep sigh, Jinan was feeling a bit lost. So much had happened, and it all left her confused and, honestly, a bit empty. One her mothers was dead, her father had gone, and she was floating around without an official Pad. She had taken so much time to grieve, and then taken more time to reflect on her currently bleak situation.

All her life, all she'd ever dream't about was finding that 'prince' that she would one day call her own. Around her, all the other girls had been snatched up fairly quickly, and most were already adding to the numbers of the pride. Watching it all, she couldn't help but feel a slight sting in her heart. Of course, she was happy for her friends and fellow sisters, but she couldn't help but realize that she was, inevitably, something undesirable. Of course, there had always been those who had looked at her and been awed by her appearance; but once they found out who exactly her parents were, they knew. The knew that she could never give them what the other females could.

When her father had left, Jinan had somehow slipped under the radar, always avoiding being officially 'sent' somewhere. Somewhere, she must've been thought of being under the care of one of her many brothers, but she had no idea. And really, they wouldn't care all the much about what she was up to, either, since there was no way anything 'fishy' could happen. All in all, she was just a self-sustaining item that didn't have an owner.

Leaning up against a nearby tree, Jinan tried not to dwell on things she couldn't help. She never blamed anyone in the pride - in fact, she wanted the most prosperity for all of them. It just got a little...lonely, at times, trapped with the thought that no one wanted you at all. If she thought about it, she knew that there was probably someone in the pride that would have her; the trick was just finding that 'prince.'

Hyrdayesa was plodding around the pridal lands, content to wallow in his own thoughts, as per usual. He knew full well that many males thought him odd, not just for his hybrid form, but for the way he acted. He was more than pleased to contemplate things. Usually the deeper side of life. It was hard to try and have a serious discussion with fools who couldn't comprehend such things. Then again, with what was going on lately, perhaps his usual mood was more off putting than usual. For that, the chocolate brown leopon couldn't blame them. However, he was always further shamed by what he was. Adding in the fact that, he hadn't gone off at adolescence to bring back a lioness. But the thought of bringing a girl back hadn't been all that important to him. Especially with one of his brothers being sick for so long.

Not that bringing a girl back would've done much. He'd had a inkling about his own fertility, though that may simply be pessimism shining through. He couldn't help but admit to himself, that ..perhaps it wouldn't be too bad to have a female around. ..Perhaps there would be someone else that could participate in his thoughts and questions.

In all honesty, maybe being alone like this was better than having a Pad that would only ridicule her or hate her for what she was. Sure, she looked close enough to a lion to sometimes pass, but it wouldn't take long for a Pad to realize that she was completely dry. Plus, most in the pride already knew. But part of her felt even worse for the males that were like her; their lives seemed like they could be far worse off.

Flicking her eyes up, she caught sight of a dark figure not far off. Taking in his markings and his coloring, she knew what family he must have hailed from. And as she stared at him longer, she knew she'd seen him around the lands before.

Letting her mouth drop open slightly, she squinted her eyes, deep in thought. He was like her, wasn't he? She was fairly familiar with most of the banus in the lands, and certain things about his coat popped out to her. She was...fascinated, to say the least. Here she was, contemplating her own sad situation, when someone just like her comes along. Shaking her head a little, she wanted to speak up - to say something - but her words wouldn't come to her. It was still hard for her to be so outgoing, so open. It just wasn't in her nature to be 'out-there' or overly willful. But what was harder was letting this other like her to slip away without a word.

A light scent tickled Hrdayesas' minty coloured nose. It wasn't a heavy masculine smell, but rather.. light and.. feminine. Was there a girl nearby? Well, obviously there had to be, if the Leopon was smelling her. Hrdayesa glanced around nonchalantly, trying to figure out where this feline female was. Red eyes lazily searched around the land, until falling upon.. a hybrid? So, there were other hybrids here, aside from his brothers and sisters? That was a slightly comforting discovery. The distance wasn't too great between them, so he could tell she was part lion, part something else. Perhaps, a cheetah? Regardless of the mixture the other was, she looked nice. ..And familiar. The longer his red eyes stayed on the cheeton, the more he figured out the family she decended from. Again, this was interesting. She was pretty. Surely, she was also taken, if only to brag about her lovely pelt in another males' possession.

The most likely event now was that his staring was going to unnerve her. Hrdayesa didn't have much interaction experience with females, other than his Mother and sisters, but they don't count. He didn't know what to say, even to start a simple conversation.

Trying to swallow her nerves, Jinan's eyes were a little wide, a little petrified. But, now that she was fairly certain that the male was looking straight at her, she had to do something other than just stand there, right? Because if he was anything like her, they would probably end up frozen for hours just staring oddly at each other. At least, she kind of hoped that that would be the worst-case scenario.

Slowly lifting a trembling paw, she took a careful step forward, trying to close the distance. Taking deep breaths, she did as much as she could to calm her scattered nerves, to try and make herself look as appealing as possible; at the end of the day, to most others, she only had her looks, and even she wasn't that confident in them.

"H-h-hello there." Feeling a bit mortified with her own staring, she slowed her pace, keeping a good distance in case he wanted absolutely nothing to do with her. This had to have been the first time in her entire life that she had tried to start a conversation with a male first; she hadn't had many conversations with males in her life at all. In fact, it usually consisted of someone talking to her, and she'd simply nod and go on her way.

A brown ear twitched in surprise, hearing the nervousness in the female's voice. So, she was feeling just as awkward as he was. Perfect! Now, the thing that Hyrdeyesa had to do was gather up some sort of courage and reply to her. Had to be courteous and polite, right? That's..usually how one got into another's good graces, right? The leopon swallowed some saliva. This was ridiculous, if he stared any long at her, the cheeton is probably going to run off. And then he would've blown a perfect chance. If there were any Banu Hyrdeyesa would love to have, it would be another hybrid. That way, there would be equal understanding about the toughness on their lives, in this Pride that was their home.

" Salutations " The leopon replied.

Salutations? That's not common in speech anymore. Waaaay to go.

As every silent moment passed, Jinan felt as though her stomach was going to fall right through her skin onto the ground below her. It was always so nerve-wracking, trying to figure out what another creature was thinking. Was he upset that she said something? Or was he disgusted with her? Though they seemed unlikely, the negative thoughts all flew through Jinan's mind after she made initial contact.

But as responding words left his mouth, she let out a sigh of relief, closing her eyes for just a moment as a smile slipped on to her face. "Well hi there." Still smiling gently, she took a few more steps forward. He seemed nice; a little odd at first, maybe, but first impressions were always so hard to try and carefully construct.

"I....I'm Jinan." Still a little hesitant with her words, she wasn't quite sure where to go from here. They had started talking, though, right? That was a good step, right?
