Raja stretched as he woke, feeling rested and ready for the day. His cubs were all grown up and he was very proud of them and how the flourished in the pride he taken up in. Raja did not think he was any different. He took his role as a warrior very serious, preforming border patrols in which he needed to do this morning and training the young who wished to be warriors.
He slipped quietly down to the jungle floor and moved as silently as possible away from the mother tree. Yawning he trotted off toward the borders ready to start his day.

The dainty lioness had been awake for some time, the sun dappled across her deep blue fur as it streamed through the leaves above her head. She had been training for some time as a warrior and despite her petite size she knew she was a good warrior.
Her ears twitched as she heard someone approaching and the little lioness turned her head, her deep teal eyes fixed calmly upon Raja. "I see you." She whispers a gentle smile on her face.

Raja hadn't been expecting to see Gal this morning, but he was not surprised. He believed her to be one of the best warriors the pride had to offer, even her small size was advantageous. "I see you," he said with a smile as he approached, "have you come to just enjoy the morning or would you like to check the borders with me."
For Raja this sort of thing, came so natural. It was something he'd done all his life no matter where he lived. Even as a cub with his father in the pride he'd been born into it. It was not often he had company, but he most certainly wasn't adverse to it.
He came up and sat beside her, taking a breather and enjoying a quick morning breeze they drifted through. If she said yes, they could be on their way, but if she declined he would have to suffice for a small chat before he moved on.

"I was just enjoying the sunrise." She flickers her tail and lets a small sigh roll over her lips "Just thinking. Always thinking."
The small blue lioness looked up at the pale maned male and let a smile play on her lips. "Yes, I think I would like that." She smiles taking a deep breath and getting to her paws.
She liked Raja, he was a good commander and he didn't seem to think that her small size made her weak. She appreciated that.

Raja nodded and rose, smiling at Gal as he moved a little more out into the open and started around the pride borders. He doubted that he would find anything, but it was better safe than sorry, as far is Raja was concerned.
"So Princess," he started still having the one of the odd quirks that set him apart from others. The way he addressed females would probably never change. "What were you thinking about just now? I do not mean to pry, but I must say I am curious."
Raja hadn't a reason to think it was something bad or personal, not that it would make his steer clear of the question, but instead less cautious about asking. Females sometimes weren't always to keen to share their thought, but the opposite could be said as well. Sometimes they confused him thoroughly, even his daughters, but still he held them in high regard.

"Princess? Really?" the dainty blue lioness gave a quick laugh and shook her head. "Raja, sometimes you confuse me." She smiles, not feeling offended by the way he addressed her. It was nice to be something other than a warrior and a lioness sometimes.
The little lioness trotted along beside the pale maned male and gave a small smile. "I was just thinking of my children, wondering really where they might be now." She smiles wistfully. "I have been thinking of them a lot just recently, with so many cubs in the pride."

Raja laughed lightly, "I really can't help it and I don't really want to. It all I have left of the pride I was born into, the family I lost. We believed all females were princesses and even after coming here it not a belief I have lost." Raja gave her a light bump on the shoulder and soft smile.
Raja nodded, "I do not think I would be able to be separated from my children for too long. I hate to think that they might leave the pride in search of other things and possibly not come back. You Galanthus are a far stronger feline than I."
Raja continued to smile as they walked the border, "Soon there will be new little warriors to train. Its so odd not to see my own among the young faces. They are all grown up now."
