Night time provided the perfect cover for many of the Druid blood. One such Druid was a young female named Andara'Devi. She was one of few Druids in the Mkoani province, and though she was not proud of that fact, she still managed to be mostly under the radar. Pale eyes glanced about as her paws pressed into the earth, carrying her at the base of castle mountain, headding for a safe place to rest for the evening. It was difficult to see the female, with her lithe body as dark as the night sky slinking through shadows. The crescent upon her nose, and those frightningly pale eyes, however, stood out like stars in the shade. Andara enjoyed the feeling of earth beneath her claws, knowing that even with her life as hard as it was, she stll had it better than many of her Druid bretheren.
Taking a rest beneath the mountain, she gently groomed her fur, smoothing it after a long day. She'd managed well, here in the province, a Forsworn released from the Ravine Prison not too long before. It had been such a short period of time since she'd left. The memory of the Prison itself s till far too firm in her mind. Her tail wrapped around her paws as she finished grooming, the thoughts absorbing her as she began to settle upon the grass. She didn't speak to many in these lands, as they tended to ignore her, or simply give her looks. She knew being a Druid was difficult...but it was her life. It was a life she'd been born into, and a life she'd enjoyed, and grown up with the beliefs....and then a mistake brought her to the Ravine Prison...A world that had changed her. That was fine.
Andara was fine letting the memories was over her, up until the time that she realized that she heard pawsteps drawing near. The light-eyed Druid stood to her feet, pressing herself back, wondering just who was wandering this way in the early eve. This place was usually so quiet...

"We should return to the castle, my love. This is not safe, and we have no guard."
Uther was tense. He did not like being away from the safety of his castle when the sun vanished. Night, he imagined, was the time of the Druids. Most of the trouble that happened in the pride came under the cover of darkness. Maybe that wasn't a fair assessment, but it was certainly one he was willing to believe.
It wasn't for his own safety that he was concerned, of course. He was a very large, very powerful lion: his power and authority was obvious on sight. He did not need to prove himself in that regard and had little to fear by way of being attacked. It was for Ygraine that he was most concerned.
She was sweet and small, and though she had spent some time fending for herself in the rogue lands, he did not like the idea of her having to do so any more. It was his responsibility to look after her. Except she never seemed to let him.
"Oh, you worry too much," she said affectionately, nuzzling his neck. The Queen had no fear, or she hid it well. She was not willing to trust everyone she saw, not after what had happened to her, but she was trying her best not to become jaded. Maybe she was covering for herself, and hiding her true fear of Druids under her kindness toward them.
She would never tell Uther that.
She almost didn't see the lioness until they were almost by her, arguing softly about going back up to the castle. She looked at the lioness in surprise, bouncing back and bumping into Uther, who growled and moved to defend her on instinct.
"Uther, no!" Ygraine yelped, pushing her shoulder against him. "I was just surprised. Forgive me," she said, looking at the dark lioness. "I didn't see you there."

Those strange pale eyes turned to glance at Ygraine and Uther. The recognition that sparked the female's eyes would have been terrifying to most, as with the recognition came a spark of something else, something darker. Her heart beat a bit quicker, claws digging into the earth as her eyes were first on Uther. Forget the Queen, who'd almost run over her...no...it was Him her attention was on. That pale crescent shone like the moon itself as she turned to face them. Little of Andara was visible beyond that crescent, the small stars, and those eyes. That was how the Druid liked it. When Ygraine apologized to her, that gaze finally turned back to her, and the emotions flowed away like water off the back of a fowl. They were calm now, tired, and somewhat resigned...an odd expression on a Druid. Her paw tucked gently against her leg, and she swept into an elegant bow, before she looked back up at the male.
So this was the King and Queen up close. THe king she'd been warned about. Uther, "It is alright, Lady Ygraine. I apologize for not making myself known." She tried not to growl that, the sound instead soft and tired, her body moving to a relaxed sitting position, even though inside she was as tense as a coiled snake, "It is my fault for being in the way." Her paws pressed into the Earth behind her tail. She had to keep her head down. Had to. She'd been to the Ravine Prison....seen enough. She didn't want to see any more of them, but this would help her somehow, "I am truly sorry." Her eyes didn't even meet Uther and Ygraine's any more. No..."And my apologies to you, Lord Uther, for running into the Lady."

Uther was not as kind and open as his mate liked to be. She was trying to better herself, put the past behind her and learn from her mistakes. It was good of her, and he loved her for what she was capable of, but he did not echo her sentiments.
He did not trust Druids, moreso on her behalf now, after what they had done.
Not that he had been a fan in the first place.
Uther was a large male, towering over the much smaller female at his side, though they were roughly the same age. He had a regal look about him, groomed from his life in the castle and before it, destined to rule. His thick mane settled over his shoulder and his proud chest, deep red and like silk. His green eyes were hard and cold, surprising for their light color, and he watched her almost impatiently.
Igraine ignored him, as she often did, leaning against him subtly to keep him calm while she smiled at the Druid.
"You don't need to apologize, you were not doing anything wrong. Why are you sleeping here? Do you not have a den?" There was some pity in her voice, as she knew that it was not unlikely for a Druid to be driven from their den and have to find another one if a Toka got their mind on it. Especially in Mkoani, though many pretended it didn't happen.
Uther remained silent, just watching her and, every so often, flicking his tail.

Andara's gaze studied Uther primarily. She knew that the male was hard...and did not care for her kind. It kept her own gaze empty, staring at him vacantly, as though there was no reason for her to even grace him with more than a simple stare. However, Ygraine....Ygraine had a grace and a way about her that quickly drew the Druid's gaze back to her face. "...Dens are for those strong enough to take them." She murmured quietly, tail flicking back, those moon-pale eyes shining in her face, "There are times when one such as me is not fortunate enough to be able to keep their home." After all, she was not only a Druid...but a forsworn.
Her gaze flicked back to Uther, cautiously, nervously. The King wasn't exactly known for patience with her people, and she would rather not re-visit the Ravine Prison any time soon...Not if she could help it. So she bowed her head, "I thank you for your concern, though, Lady. I seem to rest more easily under the open sky....The moon is calming." A lie. She often got cold, but you got used to harsher conditions with a background like hers, "And the stars make good companions."
