She couldn't help but offer a soft smirk to the drunken lion, which quickly faded into a more serious set of her mouth as she drowned out the other lions in the room, all intent on instigating bad feelings it seemed. "I would never assume anything... Besides, your butt isn't attractive, remember? I'd turn you down if that had been the case." And of course, she meant every word of it. Mostly.

She couldn't help but be more inquisitive in her mind, however. Seemed today was a day for learning about her fellow Stormborn, and this new piece of Galning's son. She didn't pity his offspring; that was beneath her. But she did wonder what woman had spent a night with the mess she now accompanied.

On queue, she glanced over to him, questioning on whether or not she should offer him a paw. She seemed to lack the more nuturing characteristics, as did her bloodline, and the last thing she needed was being ridiculed for being too soft.

She settled against it, instead speaking firmly and quietly with him, "If you don't want to go home, that's fine, but you'll be sleeping this off and then thanking me with a decent breakfast." Whether or not he would see through her facade didn't matter, to her at least. A greater portion of her mind was serious about that breakfast. The smaller portion... eh.

"Right," Galning said. Maybe he could hold things together until he got away from the sending-off at least. It would only take him a few more steps.

He really would have liked to run, but running took too much coordination and would be cowardly besides. He may be a pathetic drunken mess, but he was not a coward. And that meant that he couldn't flee from this situation or the unpleasantness which would follow later.

"So you won't be trying to take advantage of me in my altered state of consciousness?" He wasn't sure if he was disappointed or relieved by this turn of events. He was too drunk to follow through on anything that way anyway. With luck, he'd be able to just fall asleep and Freyja would return to the party and he could slink home in the morning and never speak of this again.

"Shall we?" he asked. He was doing his damnedest to pretend he wasn't the center of attention. "You don't have to stay with me, by the way. I'm kind of hoping you won't."

She was used to keeping her composure in front of crowds. However, the minute she had deemed the two of them away from the mass, she frowned at all he had said, "I'm not a cannibal, Galning. Or are you the one who plans to take advantage of me in the dead of night?" She held her sense of teasing on the last phrase, perfectly at ease next to one who had just caused an uproar.

He was radiating his insecurities, and the sheer amount of them made Freyja mentally recoil. He really needed to lay off the mint, if this was what it came to. She personally hadn't seen the joy in it yet, preferring to keep her mind clear and ever ready, even in celebratory times.

She kept her head high and carefully eyed her companion as she kept at his drunken heels, "Whether I stay with you or not, nothing will change for the better or worse. Hope all you want, but in the end, the decision is mine to make."

That was nice of Freyja, Galning thought as he entered the final stage of drunkenness. He had had entirely too much mint, it was true, and yet he was still more or less cognizant of the stages of drunkenness he would go through until all this was over. He didn't know whether to be relieved or horrified.

"Tha's nice'a you. Yer not so bad, even if you dun like my butt. S'okay." He smiled and yawned. Then he burped.

"Heh. Sorry. Tha's gross, I know. Can' help m'self, y'know?"

He was beginning to stumble and his limbs were becoming very loose around the joints. And the muscles. And everything. Without even realizing it, Galning found himself sinking to the ground in a warm, fuzzy haze. His eyelids were heavy and falling. Moments later he was dead to the world, snoring contentedly.

Lesedi nodded at Ruzanski, finding his presence considerably more agreeable than he had before – probably because he was in the presence of someone he disliked more this time. Galning’s whining tone brought an expression of disgust to the spotted lion’s face. Honestly, there was hardly merit to be boasted from entering the pride if everyone knew he’d (sort of) won against Galning. More than once, his mind had turned to the poor cub who was the crazy b*****d’s son because it was becoming clear to him that he was in no condition to raise a cub. Lesedi knew he had to work hard in his training and vikings in order to truly earn his place in the pride.

He was also thoroughly confused by the sight of the pink lioness. She should’ve been beautiful but her odd shape and the way she was eating put him off in more ways than one and the look she gave him caused a shiver to run down his spine. He grinned when an older lion barked a few insults at her but the grin soon faltered when his eyes returned to Ru. There was something dangerous in Ruzanski’ posture that silenced the tawny lion completely and he eyed the loud Reaver with a very typical oh-you’re-gonna-get-it expression. Clearly, he wasn’t aware of how deadly the young Captain could be, having only fought him on two occasions where he’d held back rather well. Unceremoniously, Lesedi dropped down to the ground and proceeded to eat his gazelle leg as he watched the show.

Ugh, great.
She swallowed the urge to give him a few smacks to feel in the morning, the sound his snoring enough to convince her he probably wouldn't even notice. Giving a good look around, she contemplated where to put him and whether or not she should just leave. A frustrated sigh and she tugged him the surprisingly short distance to her den, content just getting him out of harm's way and throwing a cover on him should it get cold.

She wrinkled her nose immediately. Why was she going through this trouble again? Shrugging it off, she turned herself back to the ongoing celebration, intent to inform the masses their troublemaker was out of it for the rest of the evening. Not that she'd really say anything at all. They would assume that her returning meant he was out of it, or at least safely tucked away, and that was good enough. She only gave those glancing in her direction as she re-entered a quick nod.

She grabbed up a juicy piece of meat the minute she was back among the party-goers, waving away the offer of mint from a thrall. It would take someone worse than Galning to get her started on that, and even then it would only come as a last resort. Like a life or death matter, perhaps.

She took in her surroundings and settled herself casually, wanting to see the rest of this little shindig through. Then she'd go check on him. Not that she wanted to. He was in her bed, not much else she could do. Maybe ask one of the other Reavers where he lived, if she became desperate.

This is your friendly pride mule butting into the action to let you guys know that I'm going to post the beginning to Ru's viking RP over the weekend, so if you want to be able to refer back to events of this RP in that RP, we should probably wrap it up by Sunday.

Voldemaras could carouse with the best of them, and had certainly spent a great portion of his life doing just that. However, he knew that now he was required to make a few concessions to his age and the lifestyle he had led and continued to lead. Among those were getting to sleep in a somewhat early fashion if he was going to be rising in a decidedly early fashion. Therefore, not long after the berserker had been sent to bed with a freeborn to tuck him in Vol spat out his last twist of mint and departed to his den to get as much sleep as he could before muster.
_____

Once Galning departed with a somewhat familiar lioness as a guide or companion Ru returned to where he'd been lounging before. The celebration would likely continue without too many more interruptions of the sort Galning had represented. Just thinking of the rowdy and undisciplined reaver made Ru shake his head. The last thing he needed on his first viking was a reaver like that. He suspected Galning would never find himself part of any captain's permanent band, or even that he would be on the short list of a captain's first-picks. Not unless he learned to master his impulses significantly better than he had done so far. Perhaps being father to an outlander cub would instill on him the sort of maturity and stability he heretofore lacked.

Perhaps he had actually settled himself farther in the shadows than he'd been before. With is dark pelt, he would not be easily seen in his current position and he didn't mind that. In truth, Galning's outburst and Bilijo's presence had taken away most of the new captain's inclination to chew mint and be merry. He remembered the last time he had imbibed in the presence of that porcine female, and he would not be doing so again. Eventually his memories of that evening had returned to him and he had determined that nothing happened, but just the same he was not eager to give her another go at him.

He couldn't leave though. This was his party, as it were, and he felt some obligation to remain until others began drifting away. Oh, he could end it early by sending his reavers to their beds early and citing the need for an early start the next day, but that would be unwise, socially speaking. He did wish he could find someone else to talk to, preferably about something other than tomorrow's viking, but it seemed people had settled where they were and he would be butting in if he moved to join their conversations.

Unconsciously his green eyes scanned the assemblage for Kazul's golden eyes or those of her father, but from what he could tell there weren't any representatives from the Warlord's family present unless one counted the priestesses who had enacted the initial sacrifice and uttered their prophecies, and it was difficult to say who those had been. That was a confusing bit of politics. Aesir had been the lion to promote him, but neither he nor his family had come to see him off. Ru wasn't sure what to make of that, and for the rest of the night it was what occupied his thoughts when no one else was there to converse with him.
