Nabila opened her red eyes to the bright rays of the sun as they came through the large opening of the cave. She was laying sprawled out across several of her siblings as they had all been sleeping. Her breath was still slow, her body taking it's time waking up. Nabila blinked a few times and yawned widely before her eyes shone and sparkled with mischief. Oh what fun she could get into today. Slowly, she rolled onto the floor of their rock den like an overfed pup and stretched out her short legs.
Fully awake now, she looked out into the rest of the large den where she could see the brightness of the sun's rays and a few of the others beginning to wake. She had been so excited when mama finally let them out of the cave on their own. There was always something exciting that the small girl would get herself into, and she couldn't wait for the day to begin. Turning her eyes back to her family, she saw that everyone, including her mother, were still asleep. Huffing, she got on her paws and began to shout,"Wake up everybody! It's morning time!"

Nabila giggled as Khan nuzzled her. Even though she didn't always show it, she loved her brothers dearly always found a reason to spend time with them. "Let's go play tag by the stream," she said confidently, sounding as if her ideas were the best that anyone had ever heard. With that, the small girl lead her brother across the other members of the pride to the mouth of the entire cave and out into the sunlight. Heading to the edge of the cliff, Nabila slowly climbed down the side of the mountain with her brother. It was a short distance really that any lioness could easily scale, however for a little cub the climb was considerably more arduous. This was why their mother usually preferred to be with them on the way down, but Nabila frequently managed to slip by her, plus she never got hurt so Busara never found reason enough to say much about it.
Once they hit the grass, Nabila took off running toward the stream, her favorite place in the pride that she was allowed to go on her own. She looked back occasionally to make sure that her brother was still there, and then she continued on her way. The clouds moved slowly across the sky and another endless day had begun for the cubs. Nabila stopped at the edge of the stream and waited for Khan to catch. When he was close enough, she reached out a paw and bopped him on the shoulder.
'You're it!," she shouted and then ran away from him as fast as her legs would carry her.
