Burning Mountains [2]

The mountains are said to burn the hands and feet of the individual who decides to climb them and falling from them ensures the individuals death. There are certain nooks and crannies where an individual can rest and get some sleep, where the temperature lowers and isn't as hot as the rest of the mountain but would you really sleep when a large dragon awaits your every move? Only to hinder your survivability. Lasting three days was all that was needed to pass.

Kuzon

Kuzon and Bao arrvived at the mountains and the heat seemed almost overwhelming, but he knew he could handle it. So he wasted no time trying to pass this test to make it to novice level. The heat wasn't as bad as he thought it would be and so far there was no dragon around like Jay said they were would be.

Umodo landed upon the top of the mountain, he roared and breathed a large cloud of flame to the sky...his size and flames were extremely dangerous and smoke rose to the sky, changing the bright white clouds to a darker shade of black. The heat began to rise a bit more with each passing moment and the sun was going down in the Fire Nation...would the nights be cooler or hotter? Who knows. Kuzon would have to either stop for a moment and assess the situation or keep going and find some shelter for the night in one of those crevices in the mountain.

It was what Kuzon feared the dragon has shown up; Bao began to make noises showing he was scared, so he had to reassure his pet everything will be okay. The dragon was in fact the firelords, so the dragon might not actually try to eat him, or something to that extent. The dragon landed on the top of the mountain and let a large roar and cloud of flames that turned the once white clouds black. It began to get a bit hotter while Kuzon hiked up the mountain, so he decided to stop by a nearby cave to wait out the heat. While he was in the cave he tried to come up with a game plan, 'no doubt if I stay in this cave the dragon might try to make the cave cavein' soon after Kuzon came up with a plan. He was going to use Bao as a guard when he slept he'd have him wake up if something funny would happen. Kuzon picked up Bao and placed in his lap and petted him to he fell asleep; for this plan to work he would need Bao to be fully awake besides Kuzon wasn't tired.

Umodo kept an eye upon Kuzon, a firebender needed to remain on his toes in certain situations, taking a moment's rest could equal death for them. Umodo inhaled deeply and then exhaled a cloud of flames towards Kuzon and Bao, Kuzon had three options, evade, run and hide as option one, block with his own fire technique and then try to fend Umodo off while Bao slept, or, leave Bao behind and run for his life. The flames weren't very damaging, it was like taking a Trainee's flame head on. Umodo simply wished to see what Kuzon would do now.

Kuzon

As Kuzon petted his pet fire ferret Bao he could remeber the day he found him when he was baby. At first they didn't get along, but after a while they grown to love each other and Bao has been there for him countless times. As Kuzon was reminiscing something odd had happened; the dragon stopped roaring, so he decided to check on him. However, Kuzon didn't want to Boa to stay in the cave so he gently picked him up while he still sleeping. When he made it outside he placed him on a nearby boulder and out of no where a cloud of flames was headed towards him, so he got into his stance and practiced his breathing. He canceled out the fire by moving his hands to the side sending the fire on the side of him, and when he did this he stayed calm and collective when he did this.

The flames were stopped and Umodo decided to move over to a better location in order to strike. His wings flapped as wind began to pick up and he moved around and landed upon another nearby mountain, watching Kuzon closely. Kuzon would have to keep moving or else Umodo would attack from a different direction with stronger flames.

Kuzon watched as the dragon started to flap its wings and it flew off to a different; where did he go Kuzon had no idea? At this point the young fire bender felt that him and his pet Fire Ferret have been at the cave for to long plus it's not as hot as it use to be. He woke up Bao and the Ferret jumped on to Kuzon's head and they adventured on up the mountain trying to pass the test that was given.

Umodo followed them, releasing a cloud of flames that followed them as they moved, this cloud of flames would burn them if they slowed down, only two options were given, stop and cease the flames or keep running.

Kuzon

Kuzon had two choices now he would have to stop and stop the burning or run and try to get to the top of the mountain as fast as he could. He went with running not only was he fast, but he has a lot of endurance, so he could run for a lot period of time. As he ran up the mountain the pain started to get to him, 'just ignore the pain' was the only thought he had. As Kuzon ran up the mountain it seemed like Bao was holding on for dear life, but the young firebender wouldn't leave his compainian behind.

Umodo then swooped down upon Kuzon and picked him and Bao up, their mission was done and they had survived against Umodo. He then flew high into the sky and took Kuzon back to the Training Grounds to speak with Jay.

As the young fire bender and hit pet Fire Ferret ran up the mountain the dragon swooped in and carried him away; apperently his mission was over.
