Kata WC- 972
Last mission - Take out a heir to a throne, when exchanging hands and having the King to retire. Make sure its an accident. Direct the merchants to pick up remains of the pride. Pride - Distant pride Partner - Hark
The night was her day. Usually by now, she had proved her worth to more than just Nyoka. For being the Right hand's she went above and beyond their expectations. The pride was in her favor, and more responsibilities were given to her like bringing in fresh meat but she simply threw a lot of them in to the pride. She wasn't good at keeping up with 'friends' or the like, and oblivious if not all mission driven in her mind at all times, and it would be easy to forget about a single cheetah she brought in.
She remembered names, and she remembered family lines, and family ties- where she had to send to kill whole families for travesty.. but a slip up of one was plausible. Tonight she was taking a breather from a prior mission and she, like her father was allowed to leave regularly.. beyond just the hunting grounds. beyond the lush forest ring around the pride.. With ease, she walked out of the pride- head held high and proud as she went through the lush.. passing many of the pride's guards in her wake.. Not looking anywhere but forward...
Then finally she stopped where the hunting grounds were.. and where the hard desert rock began..The world out there... she knew it so well now and though freedom was so tempting, she still loved her pride.. it was the only thing that gave her meaning.. A flash back of when she walked the same path with the Boss lady, how cubs were NOT allowed to such the harden desert soil, and to test the poor cub, Nyoka pushed her- and she remembered squeeling and quickly running back behind her paws.. in the safety of the lustful forest ring..
How the roguelands used to scare her.. now she was in them more than she was the pride.. Almost losing herself in a gaze..

It wasn't unusual to find Hark skulking about in the coalition's hunting grounds. He enjoyed it. Here, he was at the brink, near the boarders, though there was no danger in him fleeing. He knew what would happen if he had. He'd dreamed about it and he didn't dare toy with the idea. Besides, he was actually quite at home here, if not a little burned by his low status within the Kuroi'Nera. He couldn't complain too much, it could have been worse, but he was so certain he would have risen in rank by now. He worked hard, he did what he was told, so why was he simply a low grunt still? Some days, he missed doing his freelance work. It had been tough going it alone, yet rewarding. He'd been making a name for himself back then. He would have been successful. He sometimes missed that, though he didn't like to admit that he had been lonely in those days. To admit that would be admitting to the fact that he craved companionship and needed others, which made him feel inadequate in some way or another. A fierce assassin needing others? It just didn't sound right in his still young mind.
The male yawned, revealing his slightly stained, yet extremely sharp fangs. He'd eaten recently, within the past few hours, and what meat he had consumed had been digesting as he leisurely rested beneath the very tree he had first met Katapatan near. It was the spot where his wayward life had changed. His tail flicked slowly and his attention was drawn to the orange furred cheetah that passed by none too far away. She liked the darkness as much as he and he rose. He shook his pelt out, the vial of blood hanging from his neck bouncing this way and that, before quickly trotting to meet her.

She was sulking in her own thoughts til a familiar scent hit her nose and she stopped her thoughts almost immediately. As if he had some kind of power to read her thoughts, thats how fast she stopped thinking of what her life used to be. The need to turn around and greet the face that was around her was unnecessary. She already knew.
"If you venture too far.. They will kill you on sight." Her words were so blunt, and cut throat that is could seem impossible to read through them. The night was so easily forgiving, but not for those of her pride. They specialized in this time of the days.. Her ears fanned back, and the cheetah was the most relaxed out here, when you have done and seen what she had, you would be too. Her tail twitching every so often but not of her own accord. But non the less she looked so untouchable, many would agree.. The aura she gave off was something very different than what others had.

"I don't plan on ever going too far."
He hadn't been trying to sneak up on the vibrantly furred cheetah he now spoke with. Had he been a bit more subtle and made an attempt, he would have, but he really did not care at this moment. He was not on the clock, so to speak, and was enjoying what leisure time he had. Time to rest and relax was unusual, but he'd take advantage of each opportunity to let his slender form rest. After all, one never knew when it would be time to move. Life could change at the drop of a feather. It was for this reason he rested when the chance arrived and never ate until he was full. He always had to be ready to move or to fight.
Her warning only served to remind the once wanderer just how much his life had changed in the past many turns of the sun and cycles of the moon. There were both positive and negative aspects of life in a coalition, the negative mostly being the restraint from the outside world. He sighed, a cool breeze ruffling the dark, exposed fur along his back, and looked to the twinkling stars high above him.
"Just enjoying the evening with a spot of hunting. Yourself?"

"I despise hunting." The cheetah commented and straightened her neck, even in her lying position. She was relaxed, but still tense in regards to keeping her defenses up as per usual. Though her answer still stayed true, after all the assassinations, 'hunting' prey just became to easy and no longer amused her. That could be left for the fighters of the rank and Emi. Emi now was the one hunting while Kata was in charge of the strategic warfare that the pride would soon find themselves in. A double agent for a war that hadn't even begun..
She turned to the made, unamused- her life til this point was all about the pride and rarely did anything for herself. If ever. Leisure time she had no idea what to do with, 'fun' was never apart of her programming. Thus, him looking up at the stars- was something she often did too. Thought about her purposes in life. What to do from this point onward.
"Wise decision." Then gazed back at the waste land of emptiness.. random mounts and moutains.. dirt where not even grass would grow. This terrain many must have died in but this terrain, she called home. WIthin the pride lands, at least the land was lushed now. "I am spectating." She finally said after a silence. "To see if any rogue will die tonight, or any member would dare pass curfew to escape. Watching them at least may amuse me for the night.. though tonight seems unfruitful for neither events." A heavy sigh came trailing afterwards.

His attention had been pulled from hunting and he sat on his haunches, not exactly looking for comradeship, yet not admonishing it, either. For him, hunting was therapeutic. The beasts weren't nearly as intelligent as the prey he had so often hunted before he came to the coalition. He'd killed lions and leopards plenty and they had been a real challenge when he was a lone hitman. It was nice being able to take out dinner without having to worry about having his own head ripped off... But he could see where such things were more of a nuisance to the cheetah that had recruited him.
"So you sit and wait to see if one of our own turns traitor?" Seeing as he'd noted so few of their own missing in the past few moons, it seemed like a boring task, but if that was what she liked to do, it was what she liked to do. He thought for a moment, his tail twitching slightly.
"Do you want to walk the borders? Might prove to be a little more entertaining."

"Yep..." Unamused eyes slowly graced the area. Honestly, she had no want to move but when asked.. She simply looked up at him blankly.. Heh, how smart of him.. And just for that.. "Now you have gotten smarter." A smirk crossed her face and a yawn escaped her before she rose lazily. "If your with me, no one can touch you..." And it was because she was born of this land, and her bloodline was far more dedicated to the principles of the pride. Now, she continued the legacy. Rising to her feet as she slowly padded to the edge of the boarder.. then finally looked back at him. The distant stare she gave to others, since all her life til this point was 'orders'. Following them. Eating. Following them. Sleeping. Following them. "...I guess it can be..." Her voice grew quieter.
"I remember when I was a cub.. and I too, feared the boarders... " Like a distant dream she could remember.. Nyoka lifting her up and putting her on the other side of the boarder, where the barren orange dust was, and Kata fleed back in to the Boss Lady's arms.. Those days.. When things were much more simple. Clean cut. "I get amused with traitors, brave enough to pass them.. and weep for mercy when they are tortured..and killed."

No one could touch him... He liked the sound of that, but he knew he wouldn't flee. He hadn't even been this close to the borders since he had first been "recruited." If that was what being forced to join was actually called. Regardless, it was the day his life changed forever.
"Hey, it's more entertaining than sitting still. And besides, I'd rather not be ripped to shreds over a little jaunt. I don't plan on fleeing. If I did, I'd have tried already. I'm not completely stupid." He smirked, his dark paws picking over the terrain they traversed, heading towards the borders. She had no fear, but she needed no fear. She would not be hunted down, strung up, and made an example of. Some days, he missed home... But there was no place for him in his birth coalition. His mother disgusted him, what with her promiscuous ways. He would not flee.
"I'd feel pity for them, more than anything. It's sad, comrades turning tail and fleeing. But, traitors are traitors and must be dealt with accordingly." He shrugged, tail flicking to one side, his fire-like eyes peering out over the lands before them.
