Malum had never quite approved of Mordecai’s first choice of mate. For anyone else in his family, he might have gone so far as to force them apart. But when it came to his great-grandson, the God was more inclined to turn a blind eye. He let the young demon have his fun and was not at all surprised when he learnt that Mordecai’s heart had been (metaphorically) torn out. He was quietly pleased, watching the proceedings from the shadows, and simply waiting for Mordecai to pick himself back up again.
After quite some time the god had come to realize that his dear Mordecai was really quite depressed. He wasn’t even abusing Sacrifice as much as usual. So, clearly lacking anything better to do with his time, the powerful Demon God had decided to fix Mordecai and bring him a suitable mate that would pull him out his funk.
His gaze first found Ryuthela as she was partaking in the very demon activity of kicking a**, and since he couldn’t be bothered looking any further, he decided she would be the one. Without any warning, the god appeared in a rush of dark energy and shadows. A mad grin, a rumbling snarl the made the earth shake, and one immense clawed hand reached out.
He snatched her up, darkness coiling around her, and in the blink of an eye they were back in the Demon Temple. Mordecai was in one of the side caves where Malum had left him, being served by the groveling pair, Heretic and Sacrifice.
The god simply shoved Ryuthela forward. “I have a gift for you.” He hissed, tail slamming against the ground and making the entire temple shake.

The young, dark-furred demon looked up from Heretic and Sacrifice. Even though they groveled before him, it was a little too obvious that he hadn't given them any orders or beatings in too long. Though for Sacrifice, there were a few cuts on his arms, not too old. They had been slowly healing, and were none too fresh, but it was clear it had been done by Mordecai's sharp claws. Whether it was an act of anger, boredom, or affection, was a toss up.
Sacrifice was Malum's first gift to him, and he adored his grandfather, so he adored Sacrifice (in his own way). For some reason, unknown to all family members, the god favored him, gave him gifts here and there (though this did not mean he had never been on the receiving end of Malum's rage-filled abuse before). In comparison to many other family members, Mordecai was doted upon.
It was this reason alone that his reaction was so calm and casual to having the god suddenly appear, shoving a female towards him. Even though he seemed calm, it was still a surprising gift none-the-less. Malum had been trying to let him work things out on his own, and now here he was, presenting him with a pretty little thing.
Slowly standing, he growled down towards the groveling pair, stepping closer as the god shook the temple. "Thank you for this gift, I will not let it spoil."

What ...
Ryuthela had been minding her own business, doing what she had wanted to do since the time she got back: torture the innocent minds of those lovely little kats. Ooooh, it had been so long. And ooooh, it had felt so good when she started up again doing what she did best.
So it was with great ... disappointment when that kat came out of nowhere and grabbed her. It didn't register for awhile - not that it was a god, not that it was THE god of demons, not that she was in a temple. All that went through her mind were the visions of what she'd do to the a*****e that teleported her out of nowhere only to be shoved towards some other a*****e.
"Thank you for this gift, I will not let it spoil."
What...
She glanced askew and not only saw, but felt, the massive presence of the head honcho himself. Her lips couldn't help but pucker. It wasn't everyday that the god himself decided to make a gift out of you.
Wait.
Ryuthela's head whipped around to glare at Mordecai. And then, she presented her new friend a most malicious smile. "You must be special, getting a present from a deity. How nice for you."

The young Demon's visible purple eye trailed slowly from the very tips of her horns to her feet, then back up again. He finally settled at staring into her red eyes as his tail gave a single thump against Sacrifice's side. The gesture meant nothing and the Baddie likely knew this already.
Mordecai kept his eyes locked on hers, his stare was intense and rather empty-- or so it seemed. It wasn't often that others were able to read him and so far, only Malum could so easily figure him out. It seemed more often than not, actually, that Malum could nearly predict what his grandson would do before he even did it.
Though would that be such a strange thing for a god to be capable of doing? No.. probably not.
"Yes.. and you must be the first face he came across."
The male's voice was rough and dripping with a bitter tone that most would describe as venomous. His intent was not to intimidate the little female... not yet. Everything came in it's own time.
He did not deny being special and he never had. He had also never understood why Malum had allowed him to follow so closely and learn from him, nor did he understand why he was given presents. The beatings were, if anything, comforting to the young Demon when despised by most, and the presents adored.
It was also not his intent to insult Malum's gift, which he was unsure if his grandfather would realize or not. He would soon find out based on whether an unpredictable beating came his way or not. It was a pretty gift and he would appreciate it almost as much as Sacrifice. In time, perhaps more.
But this female needed to know she was a gift. Being brought by the god himself did not make her too special and he saw it fit to let her know that. It made her convenient. Mordecai knew his grandfather had not the patience or care to study and compare personalities. However, to bring her here did mean that Malum must have seen some potential worth in her.
It was the second present that was similar to something Malum himself possessed. Sacrifice, a ragdoll to toss around as he wished, just as Malum had Heretic. Now, a female, a potential suitable mate-- no more mistakes this time, just as Malum had his own suitable and worth mate, Aisenma.
His gaze drifted past the female to focus on the God as he remained crouched in waiting, perhaps just to judge his reaction.
