There's currently a rule in the shop that says you can't have two versions of the same soquili, with the exception being a version with some clothing layers turned off to see what's under the costume - or "under the wings" uncerted versions to, again, show markings.
But you can't have a before/after version of a soquili certed - from the sounds of things you'd either have to get him with or without wings - and whatever version you have is how he'll breed.
But yeah, I did do a wingless wind for an RP event, though technically speaking, he still had one wing, but since it was his back wing it doesn't stand out very much, but I did it to drive in that he wasn't just a regular with a scar:
