User Image Talaitha was curled up in a corner of her den, her crafting components scattered around the den from working on a project as late as she could the day before. She had not taken the time to go out and eat. When she had decided to quit was when it was too dark to work and by then she was so tired she had just curled up and slept. She had barely managed to get everything back inside the den, so the mess was understandable. If the lioness had a Thrall to keep things up it would not have been so bad either, but she had not really asked Reavers to get her one or found one in the pride that was 'useful' in her eyes.

Tal was having a hard time dealing with some of the Thralls. She was not a Reaver so she did not see it as her place to do something about them, but some of them were just down right out of their place and needed put back in it. Tal's crafting work was suffering from distractions when she was out where certain Thralls roamed. Some of the better Thralls even ran over her for not watching where they were going. Yes, they apologized as they should, but still, it was hard to work when one was being bumped and jostled. This was why the lioness had not gotten a Thrall of her own yet.

Tal woke as soon as the sunlight peeked into her den and across her two toned face. Her cheeks grew warm as the black fur soaked in the light and heat. It did not take long of this before her cheeks were hot under the fur and she opened her eyes. The lioness could not ignore the light and heat enough to just sleep further. She could just move and go back to sleep, but when she went to do just that, she realized just what a state she had left her den in the evening before. She could not bring herself to just leave the den in that state. It would make working harder later.

The lioness stretched carefully as she rose. Tal had a lot to do it looked like. She groomed then started cleaning up the mess. Bones went into one bag, rocks into another. The hide went on one rock ledge the cloth scraps on another. The strings for threading things were all hung up nicely from the little points of shells she had on a high shelf. The shells were weighted with sand to keep them there too. Some of that lacing and string could get heavy with a lot of it on one shell, so she did not want the shells to be able to fall and let the long strips get tangled.

It took Tal a while to get even half the den cleaned. She had the stones put away, mostly organized by color and size. She had her bones put away mostly by size and quality. Some of the bones were put in a special bin to be cut down as they were cracked too bad in some places to be used at their current size. The thread was left hang as long as possible, the colors were limited as thread was hard to get without ripping apart a cloth to get it. The laces were easier to organize since they were roughly the same color, though they were different sizes both length and width. Tal used the size differences to make order from that chaos.

The lioness stepped back from her storage and looked at it and the half of the den she had gotten cleaned up. She did not think it looked bad at all. Now she just needed to add the things from the OTHER half of the den. When had she run out of time to organize things? Tal had spent more than half of her time reorganizing everything that was already put away because it had either gotten thrown in wherever she had room when first brought in or later when she was working with them. She really should have help maintaining this order, but who could she trust with it?

The second half of the den that needed cleaned up was tools as well as components, but even so, since the organizing was already done that this point, Tal's clean up was going much faster. She still wasted half her day on the clean up, and was very tired and drained from the activity. She usually did mostly making things, which while it took paw and teeth work, it could be done laying or sitting in one location. This moving back and forth constantly across the den to get everything put in its proper place and off the floor of the den was a pain.

Tal sighed as she looked at everything. She really should get some kind of metal in wood or just wooden racks to put up so she could hang her bags. They were too heavy for the weighted sea shells to hold. She knew metal could not easily be driven into stone, but if she were to either find rounded metal that could be put into wood to make a hook or build a rack to stand on its own, she could get the bags up off the floor and out of the reach of any tiny paws that might invade her space. She may not have to worry about that any time soon from herself, but other pride members' cubs did not always know the value of personal property.

Tal chuckled to herself. If she ever had cubs she was going to need a Thrall to watch them while she worked. For that matter she could use a Thrall now to help keep things organized and clean so she did not waste another half or full day doing clean up like she did today. She should have been working on necklaces for Reavers that had brought her things. Some of them wanted them for females they were interested in, others for themselves, but still she should have been working on that instead of cleaning her den. She had lost time and that just was not something she could do all the time. Tal sighed. She was going to have to speak with Lesedi and see if he could really keep his eye out for a Thrall for her.

If she let him know that it was becoming a bit more of a priority and there was so much to do that a Freeborn should not have to in her den, he would understand and search a little harder. Her Reaver friend understood more than most since he too had started out as an outsider. They had a lot in common for having to earn their places in the pride and not really being all for the marriage and settling down that most of Tal's own rank seemed obsessed with. Reaver might not be a position that Tal could hold, but she certainly understood them. Tal would speak to Les rather than starting another project. With that thought, Tal headed out of her den to find the Reaver.
