Well that wasn't much of an answer. Was it even possible to get Rei to sit still long enough? Seemed like the older male had successfully kept Rei's condition a secret from the outside world until now so the other most likely had a plan in mind. Life would have been so much easier if he had been born before his zodiacs. Since such was not the case, he was having to rely on Andrei's abilities. Takami hated accepting an outsider's help but he really had no choice in the matter. His orbs dulled when Andrei bent down and scooped Rei up. Was that man seriously going to walk out carrying Rei like that?! Well he suppose the idiots around the surrounding area wouldn't be brilliant enough to know that wasn't a toy. Yes, he shouldn't give the idiots so much credit. They wouldn't think much of it. Even if they did see anything, they wouldn't involve themselves with the law. A lot of them were running from it. Someone could literally get away with murder around these parts. Well, someone was about to get away with murder.

Following after Andrei proved to be quite difficult, especially when he was dragging along a plastic bag and his legs weren't as long as those of an adult. Frustration was apparent in Takami's expression as he struggled to keep up. Once they reached the stairs, the god wearily glanced down. This was the part he hated the most. Being so small, everything seemed higher than it actually was. Using his free hand to clutch on the rail, Takami slowly climbed his way down. The rail was so old that it literally shook with each step he took. Time seemed to always slow down when he had to climb down these stairs. He suppose it was far more better than climbing up. If only there was a way too avoid stairs period.

By the time he caught up with the two, Rei was already in the car. Takami was half expecting the 'older' male to shut the door and drive off. He wouldn't be too surprised if the other had. Actually, he was startled he hadn't. Instead, the older male told him to leave his clothes behind. Feeling irked at being told what to do, Takami flashed Andrei a long stare. He wasn't seriously telling a god what to do was he? What was wrong with the clothes he had that he had to leave them behind?! They were clean! He took the 'clean' ones. Well as clean as they could get when he was the one doing the cleaning. That and he didn't exactly have any money to buy new clothes. Well technically he did have money, he was entitled to the Sohma riches but that wouldn't be until he successfully booted the current head of the estates off the position that was rightfully his.

“They aren't dirty and they do not smell! We do not smell!” Takami stubbornly stated, choosing to read Andrei's mind rather than ask such a pointless question. Brat! They did not smell! How dare he assume it was them! Then again....it could be possible that he had lived in that filth for so long that he could no longer smell the constant stench that lingered even in his room or on himself. Feeling somewhat self conscious now, Takami raised his palm to smell himself. He smelled just fine.....he wasn't a rubbish god.

“Rei, tell him what I speak is true.” Takami demanded from the other but from the looks of it, his zodiac didn't seem like he would be of much use. Was his zodiac even listening to him?! Ugh. Maybe he should let this one go for now. His stubborn behavior would only prolong their stay at a crime scene. Now really wasn't the time for such petty arguments but it dwelled more from the fact that he had no money to purchase new clothes and the agreement he made with Andrei didn't mention anything about supplying him with basic needs.

Feeling a wave of frustration, Takami puffed up his cheeks and abruptly climbed in the back seat. He didn't want to admit defeat. The only reason he chose not to argue further was because it probably wouldn't be long until his mother woke and having the car door open like that while Rei was transformed heightened the chance of someone finding out their secret. Now wasn't really the time. He'll just have to find a way to purchase himself some new clothes.

There was no reply from the dragon. Once in the familiar safety of his father’s car, he promptly fell asleep. Today had been such an exciting adventure! He had travelled all the way to Tokyo on his own! He hadn’t eaten dinner but it would be a while before the hunger woke him up again.

”We’re not taking those with us!” Andrei insisted. Apart from the lingering stench, he did not want anything else linking him to the crime scene, even if it was an assortment of clothes. After all, they wouldn’t be leaving Tokyo until tomorrow morning and the woman might have called the cops then. He didn’t know what her circumstances were and whether she actually owned the place. Perhaps it was paranoid, but it was attention to such details which had saved him countless times, along with a heavy dose of dragon’s luck. ”So either you dump those or I’ll dump you in a river.” Well, actually he wouldn’t on account of Takami’s soothing effect on Rei, but he had certainly dumped bodies before.

Once Takami had swung the door shut, Andrei activated the childlock before driving off. The windows were heavily tinted, so unless they passed by good lighting, it was difficult to see anything in the dark neighborhood. He could not help shaking the feeling that it was too awkward having a ‘god’ in the backseat of his vehicle. Dialing a number on his phone, he waited for the caller to pick up and then started conversing in Russian. If Takami chose to pry, he would soon find out that Andrei was talking to his mentor, the only man in the local Russian mafia who knew the truth about Rei’s curse and had been supportive of Andrei’s efforts. Besides, Sohma ‘clients’ were good for business.

I need to drop by for the night. Is that okay?

What’s this about?

My son went ‘walkabout’ again.

Hah! Hahahaa… fine, fine.

Throughout most of the car ride, Takami silently fumed. Something had to be done about that man! Even if it was Rei's guardian, no one had the authority to tell him, a god, what to do! That man was even gutsy enough to threaten him! Such disrespect made his blood boil. Unfortunately, there was a possibility he may have to compromise until he regained his rightful status. Before they even took off, Takami made sure to put on his seat belt. He didn't know how this one drove. Rei had long ago fallen asleep on him. For now, there was just that awkward silence between the two. Takami had nothing to say to the other but if they were going to be living together for awhile, compromises had to be made. Living in such a weak form was so humiliating. He could hardly wait until this body of his grew.

Tch. He was far too short to properly see out the window. Glancing over at Rei's demonic form, Takami momentarily watched the other before flickering his gaze over to Andrei. Obvious lack of trust lingered in the the toddler's orbs. The feeling seemed to be mutual. After an eventful day, the God was drained as well but he didn't trust Andrei enough to get some shut eye. They were probably almost at their destination anyway. Once again Andrei was on the phone. This time with an old acquaintance. The god pried into Andrei's mind to make sure the other wasn't plotting against him. Everything still seemed a bit unreal. It was like any minute Andrei would go against his word. Takami was reluctant to let his guard down. He wouldn't sleep until he was sure Andrei was asleep first and he would do well to wake up before the other. Perhaps he was being too paranoid but in this world, it was better to be paranoid than live a life of bliss.

So far Andrei wasn't thinking of ways to dispose of him. That was a good sign. All of this mind reading was beginning to take a toll on the young god. He could already feel himself nodding off to sleep but would quickly shake off that sleepiness. Just as he was about to doze off, after much fighting, the car stopped. Finally! Walking would help rid himself of sleepiness. A splash to the face with some cold water would also help.

Absently scratching his itchy scalp, Takami unbuckled his seat belt once he was sure they weren't stopping the car because of some light or sign. He moved to open the door but the wretched thing wouldn't budge. Frowning, Takami attempted to open the door on Rei's side. Nothing. Even when he pressed his shoulders against the door, it seemed to be stuck. There was something obviously wrong with this car. It didn't open easily like his mother's boyfriend's vehicles when he actually went out. Blasted piece of junk! How dare it not open! Tch. “Your door is broken.” Takami stated, irritation apparent in his tone.
