gaia_angelleft How sad that there is nothing yummy here yet. Oh well, first topic! gaia_angelright

Today's cooking lesson: Use what you have! Want cookies? Sure, who doesn't! emotion_dowant But there's no premade cookie dough in the fridge or a cookie mix in the cupboard. All you've got is cake mix. emotion_sweatdrop

Guess what! You can make cookies with that cake mix!

arrow First things first - get everything in place that you need:
A mixing bowl and spoon
A 1/2 cup measuring cup (that's all your measurement right there!)
And a baking sheet (or a stone if you have a kitchen addiction 3nodding )

arrow Make sure to turn the oven on to preheat to 350!

arrow Now, here's the basic recipe:
1 box of cake mix (Got a favorite flavor? Use it! Any cake mix works!)
2 eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil

If you want, you can add extras, like coconut or M&Ms or pecans at this point. Mix everything together, and you've got your dough!

arrow Now, take pieces of the dough (if it's greasy from the oil, that's okay) and roll it into balls that are roughly 1/2 inch. (Don't know your measurements? The cookieballs should be as wide as the webbing between your thumb and forefinger.) Put them on the baking sheet, and make sure to space them, because these cookies will spread and take up room as they bake.

arrow Finally, pop the whole sheet in the oven for 10-15 minutes - the cookies that result should be nicely chewy, perhaps slightly browned on top.

arrow Most importantly, give your cookies time to cool after cooking, so they won't break into pieces when you pick them up (and so you won't burn your tongue!)

And that's all folks! I hope you had fun; enjoy your cake mix cookies!
