It was late and the fireflies were all buzzing around, their small bodies flickering with their soft orange light while the moon and stars above helped to illuminate the dark with them. Taabu was a catcher, one who used nets and things to capture the little bugs and bring them down into the caves to light the labyrinth of tunnels and such. Tonight he had ventured just far enough away from the secret cave entrance that he was near the border. Anything could happen this far out, all manner of rogues were able to wander by, though Taabu wasn't really the sort to seek them out, no. He had a job to do right now and he had no intention of making friends with any rogues.

With net in mouth and paw, he sailed through the air in long leaps and bounds, using the agility from his cheetah half to move quickly, catching a few fireflies in his net already. Just like Hikari had taught him. Taabu was not nearly as fast or as good as the cheetah, but he hoped that he would get better in time, the more he did it and all.

His focus was concentrated and while his mind wanted to swim with certain topics, he bottled the thoughts down and just jumped and weaved, doing his best to capture any fireflies he may run into. He didn't want to think right now. Thinking sucked and reminded him of everything he didn't like about hybrids, his old "family" and most importantly, himself.

Kuu had wandered a bit farther from the Koti than usual, but made note to tell others before doing so. If there was to be any trouble in her absence, then the council would send a bird to find her. Just because the young cheeton didn't expect anything to go wrong, didn't mean that it wouldn't. It was always better to be safe, than sorry. The purpose of her wandering wasn't so much for recruitment, as the Coalition was in good numbers for sustainability, for now. Kuu's meandering was the momentary purpose of seeing if there were any other plants that would be beneficial, if harvested properly.

The only problem with trekking along, let alone by herself, was that Kuu wasn't sure if she were anywhere near any other Pridal lands. In retrospect, though, should she come across some at least she'll know where they are. And if they're friendly to hybrids, or not. On that note, it would prove to be a good endeavor to find some allies for the Koti. that would be something to bring up to the Council once the dark pelted hybrid returned to her wet homeland.

Kuu wasn't particularly watching where she was going, as her mind was pre occupied with plants and her Coalition responsibilities. While there were a good number of helpful plants in the Wetlands, it was still a good idea to find out if there were others elsewhere.

The firefly catching was good, Taabu had just enough to call it a night and head in early to explore and maybe sulk about the labyrinth, watching some of the others as they walked around. Oh yes, tonight would be -so- eventful. A sigh escaped him as he bunched his firefly filled net and turned to head back. Just as he took a few steps he stopped, head jerking up and ears swiveling toward something.

He sunk low in the grass and listened, staying still as he tried to figure out what had made the noise nearby int he grass. Was it a rogue or another member of the brotherhood? And that was when he felt something bump into him. He had been so tense and focused that being bumped into had scared him to the point he jumped out of the grasses, his net opening and all the fireflies he had caught escaped.

Taabu slowly turned once he calmed himself to see what, or who, had snuck up on him and had to squint to catch sight of the much darker creature. After a moment of staring at her, he noticed two things. First, it was a she which he could tell just by her size and scent, and secondly... it was a hybrid. More specifically, a cheeton. Like him. He froze in shock, a bot of terror and a lot of agitation. He had no idea what to do.

She basically embodied everything he hated. She was like him, an abomination that resulted from a cheetah and a lion pairing, and not only that, she was a she...

A certain plant had caught Kuu's attention, letting her accidentally bump into something soft. The greenery that had captured the gaze of her light purple eyes, was one that somewhat rare around the Wetlands, so it was welcoming to see it growing here in decent numbers. Though the name of the perennial escaped her mind, because of the excitement flooding her mind, but it was still welcoming. An herb that had proven beneficial for those with painful joints, was always something to have in stock. Especially the cooler climates that the mire acquired during the rainy season, this would help ease those afflicted with painful joints.

Kuu's attention returned to whatever her feet had stumbled upon. It felt soft, so she hoped it wasn't someone alive, as that would have been rude. Although, it would've been kind of gross to step onto something decaying. Her nose twitched as another's scent wafted into it. Smelt male and not dead, so that was a plus.

" Sorry for bumping into you, I didn't mean to do so. "

Taabu rose to stand on all four legs, staring at her for a moment, unsure of exactly what to do. He knew he needed to make her leave, at the very least, or capture her as a slave, though, hybrid females were far less valuable to the Brotherhood than purebred felines, the whole fertility thing or whatever. And now that he was staring her right in the face he knew for sure she was what he was. Her sleek build, bigger than a cheetah, smaller than a lion, the extra fluff around her neck and the way her tail looked, she was a cheeton.

He snapped out of his slight fear and confusion and became slightly defensive, ears pinned back, "You should watch where you're going next time. It's not like I'm hard to see out here." He said with a slight edge to his voice. It was true though, his coat was mostly white with a few light grey spots and then the grey mane. He then blinked, noticing all the fireflies fluttering around. s**t. His fireflies got loose. He sighed as they flew out of his disheveled net and then flew away. He would have to go back with nothing tonight.
