This place wasn't so bad, Haiba decided as he settled down by the small pool of water he had selected to be his drinking hole. The other cheetahs were pretty friendly, there were other cubs to play with, his mom was happy...it was rather nice. They didn't have to walk anymore, either! That was always a bonus. His paws were sore just thinking about all that land they had crossed in search of this place. He settled his paws into the water as he lapped up a few mouthfuls. Ah...this was great. He could wander around without mom freaking out, since there were nannies everywhere and watchful eyes. No real danger, nothing to be afraid of...it was perfect! Haiba looked around as he finished taking his drink, curious to see if there were any other cubs he could play with. Standing, he took a few steps away from his watering hole to see if he could find anyone. He really hoped someone would come along. Everything was more fun when you had a friend to do things with. Besides, he was getting sick of his siblings. They were fun and he loved them, but now that they were in a new place, they were old news. He wanted fresh! He wanted fun! He wanted someone new to chew on their ears.

The child was not one to play like the rest of her siblings. As they joked and wondered about, Lulu isolated herself, and she was just fine with that, even if her father tried to comfort her. Her siblings, had become 'detached' from her immediate need of survival.. This didn't go to say that she didn't care, she would try to show 'compassion' but this often times failed miserably. Which drew her colder and colder til it was natural for her to be anti-social and close to mute. She loathed speaking, it just made things worse.. If one stayed quiet, everything would be better.. Everything.
Rarely will she ever be seen topside, but today, her father forbidden that she go underground and in to the tunnels. She needed to be at ground level and the sun ached her to look at but she never complained. Just obedient. While her siblings went off to look at the different ranks practicing, she didn't like the current ranks, nothing suited her fancy, so she trotted over to the watering hole in the center of the pride. This was where a lot of grass, flowers and such grew, and she at least didn't feel as bad coming up to see them.
The quiet dark cheetah finally found the delicate water, no one was particularly at it, maybe an adult or two whom came and left.. So she opted to hide where the flowers and grass were. Softly, her snout move a flower in the direction of the sun, she was knowledgeable like her mother in the language of herbs and being around any plants made her that much more happier though you couldn't guess it from her stoic demeanor.
She would not have imagened having to 'meet' anyone today, being anti-social? She liked it that way. Curling around the flowers and tilting them towards the sun idly.

A few minutes of watching proved useless, and a bored Haiba slowly made his way back to the small pool he had gotten a drink from earlier. Dang...there was no one around! What was this, a ghost pride? He grumbled to himself, his tail low and head down, as he stepped back into the little pond. Oh well...maybe he could entertain himself. See if he could cover up all his white markings to be completely brown. That could be fun! He was about to dig his paws into the mud when he heard a very soft noise. Lifting his head, his golden eyes honed in on an odd coloration in the flowers on the other side of the little pond. A cub! He quickly forgot about his mud game and splashed out of the water, running happily over to the small female. "Hey!" he said, pouncing on her tail. Time to play! "Who are you? I've never seen you before. I'm Haiba! I'm kinda new here, my mom and my siblings just arrived a few weeks ago! You wanna play? I wanna play, I'm soooo bored."

The child was a quiet child, one that made it a goal to not bother anyone, and as she was helping her plant world- she jumped out of her skin! Her fur rising to its ends and a chirping sound of discomfort as she threw herself forward, pushed hard against it til she was let loose, and somehow rolled right in to the bushes. A thud sounds when she hit the tree in the middle of the bush. Leafs, branches broken as another chirp of pain was let out. She hadnt even seen who had spooked her. All her siblings mostly gave her , her space. Wellwhoever it was-did NOT make her happy..
After a few moments, she wiggled around, rustled a little then started to unravel herself from the bush. Shaking out her fur, before her face rose to check out who had scared her. Finally she homed in on him, and looked up at him with blank eyes. 'Ok, Registered'. Her brain completed, then turned around and went right back in the bush. Now she knew who he was- and by ALL MEANS will NOT leave the bush til he left her alone.
Flopping in as her tail laid out of the bush while the rest of her stayed hidden... Waiting as if he could not see her- as if she really disappeared, but oh was she wrong.. very wrong.

Haiba tilted his head slightly as the cub didn't respond to him. Instead, she got up and walked away! Huh...now that was weird. Thrown by the odd 'reply', Haiba fell silent for a while as he watched the other cub settle down in the grass a few paces away. All that could be seen was her tail, which flicked back and forth a bit. So odd... "So you don't talk?" he said as he walked up behind her, poking at her tail. "That's okay if you don't. I can talk and ask you questions, and then you can nod or shake your head!" This could be a fun game! He caught her tail again with his paws and gave a little tug to get her attention just in case she wasn't listening. Maybe should couldn't hear... "Can you hear me? Just nod if you can," he said, peeking around her body to watch her head. If she couldn't hear then he'd have to get in front of her. Maybe they could draw pictures in the dirt!

She was happily looking at the leafs and their veins when suddenly, her tail was touched, she turned with her body still in the bushes, and through them she saw the male. Then frowned. What was he doing, talking to her or the bush, no- he was trying to speak to her and she grumbled to herself.. before pulling her tail in then hiding within the bush for a moment before popping her head out.
When he spoke, she huffed... Then sighed as she slowly came out and wrapped her tail around her forepaws. Guessing she had to answer him, and why not... Although he wouldn't be anyone she would continuously come see of course. She nodded 'yes' to his question, but then shook her head 'no' at all at the same time. Then tilted her head to his next question. A game? This was a game.. huffing again... She was distant and unemotional to these things.. Nodding 'yes' she could hear him but then hung her head low, and putting a paw to her cheek.. Sighing.
What did this cub want from her, surely she could find one of her other siblings that would LOVE to play with him but she didn't. She didn't wanna be around anyone BUT trees. Then looking away at him, and up at the few ( though far and few in between ) as if she were ignoring him when really, in fact she was, just her attention was swayed in their direction rather than his. Then finally she looked back at him... with a heavily blank face.. Then lifted an eyebrow as to ask 'why are you still here'. She could imagen he would leave by now after her not talking... Most ignored her for this reason.

Haiba grinned as the cub agreed to his little game. He tilted his head just a bit at her answers and, as she looked away, he wondered how he could get her name out of her. He could sit there guessing until he got it right, but that could take all day. Huh..maybe he should just ask that one. "That's okay if you don't like talking or can't talk or something," he said with a nod as she looked back at him finally. "I'll talk enough for the both of us! But I gotta know one thing. What's you're name? I told you mine already so it would be kinda nice if you told me yours so I didn't have to call you 'Hey you' or 'girl 'or something like that." As he spoke he played with a large blade of grass, swatting at it with his paw. Haiba could prattle on and on about nothing in particular for as long as someone would let him. "I mean I can try to guess your name but that would take forever and that might get kinda boring. If you don't wanna talk maybe you can write it in the dirt with your claw. I know you're a girl so I bet you have a girl's name. Otherwise I'd have to go find your parents and talk to them about giving you a girl name! Having a boy name would be silly, don't you think?" Chi Sohma Want to wrap this up in the next three posts?
