It was hot, it was dry, and it was oh so very boring. Mate'moto sighed quietly as she tapped the back of the beetle she had been playing with for a while now. It fluttered it's wings before scuttling along the sand, attempting yet again to get away from the little lion cub. She put her paw down and watched the beetle crawl up and over her toes, smiling just a bit. It tickled!
The beetle made it to the sand once again and, growing tired with her game, she let it go. Mat pushed herself to her feet, her tail sweeping the sand as she decided to find some shade to lay under. Her black pelt didn't do much to keep her cool, but her mother had promised her she'd become tolerant to the heat. She had, after all.
Mat settled under a skimpy tree with another sigh. Man, today was boring! Her siblings had all run off without her while she had still been sleeping and she couldn't find them. She really needed to make some friends in case this became a common occurrence.
