Dark Fire Angel

User ImageTorbjörn took a deep breath and wondered if this was the day he'd meet his future wife. Well, strictly speaking he had met Nyasembe before. But that was different... He had only ever talked to her as a Lawspeaker, never as a male talking to a female. Oh, Stormgods... What had he gotten himself into?

Nyasembe's family had a long history in the pride, and she seemed like a nice lioness with good traditional values. The blue pelted Lawspeaker could trace his ancestors back to the founding Gods, at least according to his mother. The records were a bit muddled to be honest, but she had always told them they came from God blood. Their proud family had dwindled down to two living members, and he felt obliged to carry on the family tradition. It was not as if his brother made any moves to settle down, so it would be up to him to find a nice Stormborn girl to marry. In fact, he would seriously let down his deceased parents if he didn't at least follow up on this.

Nyasembe was a nice Stormborn girl... And thus he was standing outside her den, well groomed and more nervous than he had ever been. He had thought over what to say, and felt that he had a reasonable offer to make, but it was still nerve wracking. But since he had sent a thrall to ask for her time, and received an answer to meet up today, it was much too late to back out now.

User ImageNyasembe was... torn. Granted, she often found herself torn over a great many things, and she often, likewise, found quite a great deal of pleasure in debating things, pros and cons included. However, this situation was slightly different, though she'd done nothing wrong (that she could think of), the green pelted female felt like she'd been caught with a paw in the proverbial cookie jar.

Why else would a Lawspeaker ask for her time, anyhow?

Had she slipped up anywhere? Had she, perhaps, offended someone? Or had she been wrongly accused of something or other?

She'd never really seen Torbjörn indulge in... idle chit chat with anyone at all, and the fact he'd sent a thrall asking for her time had raised her hackles just a bit. Mostly because she was quite sure this did not bode well for her or her future; she could hold her own in a fight, granted, but she wasn't one of the largest specimens by a very long shot. That aside, she'd never been specifically trained, and if the situation she was in (whatever this situation was) demanded she get physical, Nya was quite sure she was going to have to nurse not only her wounds, but her very injured pride.

Despite the foreboding feeling oppressing her mind, the lioness also couldn't help but feel curious however, and it was for this reason that she walked out swiftly when she scented the Lawspeaker outside her den. Damn her, and her damnable curiosity. Her mother had always told her it'd get her into mountains of trouble, and yet there was very little she could do to rein it in.

Looking hesitant, torn between curious and troubled, the lioness padded towards Torbjörn, her head tilting to one side in question, "You... wished to see me?"

User ImageThe Lawspeaker had prepared a nice little speech, but as soon as Nyasembe spoke to him his mind went blank. Oddly enough his mouth also seemed to have dried out completely between two heartbeats. He hadn't had these problems since he was training to become a Lawspeaker. He spoke in front of the entire pride for a living, but in front of one lioness he was suddenly tongue ties.

"Yes," he agreed, wincing a bit at the coarse sound of his own voice. "Uh... it's a good day to die."

He was fairly sure that wasn't what he had prepared to say, so he tried to smile instead. Hopefully it wouldn't look like a snarl.
