Fur Suits : How to make them!

This is a small guide to help people learn how to make their own fursuits! Although expensive, it is still cheaper than buying one off the internet.

If you have ever made a fursuit, or any part of a fursuit, i could use your help!
I am looking for 'how to' videos and paragraphs for each section below (except for fabrics and such)
Feel free to post SAFE video links, paragraphs, ect so i can post them under each section to help others!

Head Making :

Tip : DTD are the easiest and fasted way to start a fursuit! You build around it after cutting it off, so make sure its not too tight, but tight enough so when you build the suit it doesnt slide off.

Most big/popular fursuit companys sell fursuits way over priced
My character Skunk wouldve been around 3,000usd
Making myself (and with friends to go faster) will cost around 500-600usd (not counting clothes)
SO, it is a lot cheaper to make one yourself

Now with the parents, i completely understand D:
I hadda work my mom slowly
First, draw furries
Second, never ever ever mention what a furry is! Dont even say furry! Just say animal character
Third, come up with a way to ask for one
Like, say for halloween you and yer friends are dressing up as animals
Or say you made a really cool character and you want to show it off
Or, if yer old enough, tell em yer old enough to make one if you want to xD

Personaly, i made my mom love my character and slowly eased my way into convincing her to let me make a costume

A LOT! Im slowly gathering matterials every time i go to stores. I just need duct tape (somehow very hard to find), foam, and fabric
Im not sure where to buy the zipper, but itll probly be at the fabric/craft store
Ill be going there end of december, early january so im not worrying too much

Please do not say fursuit builders are overpriced.I do agree that SOME are charging way too much for sub par work,but some of the more well known makers are doing it for a living and they are charging honest wages for themselves.Fursuits take a great deal of time to build,and peoples time is worth something.
I myself am a builder and I'm actually very cheap because I'm not a well established makers(my full suit prices starting at 1k),and I know just how much effort if takes.
This being said,making a suit yourself is much cheaper,because you're not paying labor costs,but you may need to make several suits before you have enough skill to make a really nice one.Just something to think about.
