Quaji
Black wings of hinted red, soared through the westward skies as the dens of the West came into view. All was calm now as no war was on the horizon nor drought nor famine, all was good and tranquil. It was percisely this time that the bird had taken wing and followed the meager, black spot below it. The Duke of the North was traveling to west on a request by the Lord of the North, his brother, to venture to the other Houses to make himself acquainted with the other members of the pride. Though the cause was vague and the request was abrupt, the young Duke had no issue traveling from the House to other places. Though, it was the Lord's folly to leave him without some sort of protection. Regardless, the bird soared upon the winds, the open area all around, the mountains and steppe of the Tianxia served as a place of solitude from the rest of the lion kingdoms to the far south. This place was a fortress.
"Chi-ji, fly any higher and I won't be able to see you any longer. You heard my brother, you are to accompany me!" The young duke shouted from below, receiving a downward glance from the avian. With a ruffle of his feathers, the white-black-red bird turned to the wind and dove to the lion with grace and swiftness, flapping his wings twice before settling between his shoulders. He did not speak, only subtle gestures told what he wish to convey. The bird was new to the House, appearing suddenly without much of anyone's knowing. The Lord simply presented him to the Duke and requested him to take the bird to the other Houses immediately. The bird did not speak. It showed no signs of being a messenger of any sort.
The bird was a mystery.
Duke Dohzou looked to the West House briefly before descending toward the dens. Perhaps he could find someone to talk to, but for the most part, it was to allow the new bird to gain its bearings and learn the surrounding areas. "Lets just hope the Lord and Lady do not realize I am here. I am not exactly the one for... formalities and pleasantries. If anything, I might disgrace my brother and we both know that would end poorly..."
The bird simply ruffled its feathers.
