Being home was something different. Sol was glad to be back from the mission, but being home left him feeling empty. His mission had ended ages ago, but it was still fresh in his mind. He hadn't spoke to Ajani since entering the pride again. That didn't mean he didn't keep tabs on his friend. He had heard that Ajani was getting promoted soon, something that didn't really surprise him. Sol knew that he would have to make the choice of whether or not to change ranks. He was given a wrap to wrap around his left eye, the one that he lost during the mission.

Right now he was walking, searching for someone to talk to. Normally he would go straight to Ajani and confess all his secrets. But that wasn't an option this time. Since the mission he had felt a slight hatred for his friend. Even when he rationalized it, the hatred continued. It wasn't Ajani's fault about what happened. The blame belong to him, Sol, alone. He had been so close to betraying the pride, just because he felt accepted for the first time.

And now he felt the emptiness he had always felt being in 'Nera.

He wanted to find to an entertainer. Before meeting Ajani, he had a dislike for entertainers, but eventually he warmed up to them. He felt that they could be trusted. Plus he wasn't really seeking to be entertained. All he wanted was an ear to talk to.

Once he reached the entertainers den, he paused and took a deep breath. “I am looking for an entertainer who wouldn't mind listening to my problems for a little bit. I have some gold if my credits doesn't cover it.” He said, looking around to see who would be willing to help him out.

Hanako walked through the den, observing the other cheetahs around her. Some of them were grooming themselves to prepare for their events later on that day while others were already out. A couple were working on what appeared to be a dance routine while one was just lying on the ground, sleeping.

She glared at that cheetah; this was not the time for sleeping, this was the time to be working or preparing. She walked over and growled at the cheetah, hitting the ground next to the entertainer hard with her tail. That startled the entertainer awake, and though they cast a glare her way, it got the cheetah up.

She was getting closer to the entrance of the den when she heard a familiar voice call out. She grinned slightly and made her away up to him. "I'm sure there's someone here that can help you out, Sol."

Sol watched Hanako walk up to him. He gave her a polite half-smile. "Hello Okaa-san Hanako." He said with a slight bow. She was the last entertainer Sol had expected to see. However he was sure Hanako could find an entertainer to help him. He didn't know her too well, but he felt that he could trust her judgement.

"I was hoping to talk to someone about my last mission. I need someone trust worthy." The last thing he wanted was the be the gossip of the entertainers. Ajani had always kept his secrets, it was really what held their friendship together.

But Ajani was the last person he wanted to see right now. He needed to find someone to replace Ajani and quickly. The empty feeling he had was filling him up and he didn't like the idea of becoming a shell of himself. He hoped that getting his feeling out in the open would help fill him back up so he could become the same cheetah as he was before.

She smiled at the male as she walked closer to him, "Hello," she purred as she stepped right in front of him. When he informed her what he was looking for, her smile widened.

"Well just between you and me," she leaned in to whisper in his ear, "not many of the newer entertainers are all that trustworthy." she gave a smile nuzzle to his cheek before pulling away.

"If you want someone trustworthy, I'm afraid I'm your only hope here," she winked at him, "Tell Okaa-san what's bothering you," she gestured for him to follow her to a safer part of the den.

Sol nodded his head. "I was afraid of that it would be difficult to find someone to trust. I am glad that you are around for me to talk to though." He said with a small smile. He stuck close to her, not wanting to fall behind. He hadn't expected that the famous Okaa-san would be the one listening to his problems. However he would tell her his problems and see what she thought. "I should have enough credits from my last mission to talk to you, but if you need more I have different trinkets."

When they reached the den he sat down. He was still a bit fatigued from the mission. It had taken a lot from him emotionally and physically. He didn't feel like doing small talk, instead he preferred just to go straight to his problem. "My last mission was a bit of a mess. I went with geisha Ajani, who is now a council member." Ajani had always worked hard, so it only made sense for him to eventually become a council member. However, Sol couldn't help but be a bit jealous of his friend. He felt that he had lost so much from the mission, yet Ajani did nothing but gain.

"Our mission was to find a pride, ran by a tyrant and take her out. We were undercover as traveling entertainers. We allowed ourselves to get captured. We entertained for the tyrant." He didn't like calling her a tyrant. He preferred to call her Queen. During the mission, he had developed feelings toward the lioness tyrant. Ajani knew, but no one else did. He planned to keep it that way. "We were fed enough to keep us from starving and we were worked till we fell as we entertained the tyrant and her guards." His voice spoke coolly as he recalled the event.

"Being treated like a servant was something I couldn't handle to much. Ajani was the lead on the mission. However, I decided to something a bit risky. I decided to get closer to the tyrant. I was already one of her favorite entertainers. I decided to get closer to her by telling her that I was a spy, but I wanted to join her side." He said, keeping his voice the same, his face static. The truth was that he wanted to join her. He also wanted to get the mission over with. During the mission he was completely conflicted. "I had no intention of joining her of course. I told her nothing of our pride. Just about myself."

He paused so that Hanako could speak.

Hanako winked back at him as they continued walking, "I'm sure the credits will be sufficient. After all, who could turn down the chance to take to a handsome man like you?" She wondered, briefly, what seemed to be troubling him so much and why he was seeking one of them for someone to speak his mind to.

When they reached the den and Sol sat, she made herself comfortable across from him. Once they were settled, he surprised her slightly by delving straight into the situation that he was struggling with. She nodded as she listened to his tale, remembering the geisha he spoke of. Listening intently, she picked up on a change of tone when he spoke of his friend and tried to figure out where his mind was at.

He continued on with his story without any interruption from the Okaa-san. When he spoke of the tyrant, she detected a hint of change in his tone. She could tell he was trying his best to keep his emotions in control so she refrained from smiling. This hint she was familiar with but it mostly came from young, wistful cheetahs.

As he brought what she figured was the first part of the story to a close, she nodded slightly. She wanted to question him but she wanted to hear more before digging too deep. "Then what's so wrong?" she asked before waving her paw slightly, "Please, continue."

Sol gave a small smile when she called him handsome. It was nice to hear he was handsome. He avoided others so much and ignored them, that he had only heard the comment a couple times and usually it was meant to mock him instead of complement him.

He let out a sigh when he was ready to continue. How to explain it was the real question. He had thought about how to explain it many times, but each time it proved more and more difficult. It was hard to decide if he should tell the whole truth or the partial truth. Either way, to him he looked weak. He wasn't the killer the pride wanted him to be. Instead he felt that he lacked any control of his actions, that he did things so impulsively, that he never had a chance to think his actions through.

“I was separated from Ajani. The tyrant wanted me to become her consort.” It was a choice he was never allowed to decide. He was a bit thankful it didn't come to that. “I played my part and kept close to her. However Ajani set up a revolt in the pride, getting help from the upset members of the pride to ban together to take down the tyrant and her guards. Ajani came to her den to personally kill her himself.”

It felt like he was reliving the last moment of the mission again. His heart was beating quicker then it should have. Even his usual straight face, now had some bitterness and a hint of sadness. Even when he avoided thoughts about his last mission, he couldn't help but be troubled by it. “She ordered me to kill him and I had thoughts about doing so.” He finally said. There had been a moment where he thought about killing his best friend just to be with a lioness he had feelings for. “I obviously didn't, but the thought of being free with her, never having to worry about fighting about hurting those close to me, it was so tempting.”

His eyes looked down. He admitted it. His whole life he felt like his worst enemy was himself. Even when he had his talks with Ajani, he would never mention that fact. He stayed confident, in control. But now the fact was out. “She attacked Ajani with the intent of killing him, but I fought her instead, to protect Ajani. I killed her though. It wasn't difficult. I probably could have done it sooner. She did give me this though,” He said, pointing his paw toward his left eye. A small polite smile came on his face. “That's my little story.”

Hanako listened intently as the male told his tale. From what she could tell the poor cheetah had made the sad mistake of getting too close to his target. It was slightly unexpected to here the story as he told it; it was something she expected from an adolescent.

She hummed slightly as he mentioned having thoughts of killing his partner. "Which would you rather have," she began, her head cocked to the side, "if you could go back and do it all again, which would you prefer: your consort or your best friend?"

Sol gave out a quite chuckle. “I've thought that question again and again. I think about the mission and how I should have done it. There were other times when I was face with similar situations, but I never hesitated. Killing has been my main focus since I came here. It's been what has kept me sane practically.” He kept silent, thinking about what he wanted to say. The situation he was in was a mess and he hated it.

He decided his best choice was explaining why he had fallen for the tyrant. “I've never felt love before I met the tyrant. We shared a similar like mindedness. I've never been able to have someone fully understand me. To know why I react the way I do to situations, but she did. It was an amazing feeling for once feeling like I belonged.”

His thoughts went to Ajani and how his feelings toward his friend had affected him. “When I am with Ajani, well it's like I am able to talk to him about anything. I used to store up all this anger inside me and then I talked to him. Talking is really the only way that I calm down. Our friendship only worked because I had problems and he was the only one I felt comfortable talking to about all my problems. I felt that if I had no problems our friendship would fall a part.”

Talking about them made it a bit more clear why he made his choice and what choice he would make if he had another chance. “I didn't save Ajani because I cared about him. Out of the two of them, I needed Ajani more.” He said. “I still need him. To be he is more then just someone I talk to. He is the balance that is keeping me in check. Without him I will digress into what I was before I met him.”

He let out a sigh. “I guess that's the answer. I would have picked Ajani over the tyrant no matter what happened. Sorry that I made you listen to so much of my problems. Since I got back from my missions I've been keeping it buried inside me. It does feel good to finally tell someone about it.”

Hanako was sitting calmly, listening as the broken male in front of her continued and finished his tale. Torn between his love and his need to have his partner with him still.

"May I ask, if that is the way you feel, why didn't you go to him to discuss this?" she asked him.

"Not that I mind your company, Sol," she winked at him, "but wouldn't have done you a greater service to be open with your partner as per usual than to come here to us?"

“This was one he couldn't help me with objectively.” Sol answered. He stood up and stretched his limbs. “I don't want to ruin our relationship by telling him that I thought about killing him. He's really one of the only friends I have and the only one I trust with my life. I am sure the feeling isn't mutual, but that doesn't matter. I want him there so if I do need him I can use him. If he isn't I might just fall apart and come crawling back to you.” He gave Hanako a smile. Talking about his situation did make him feel a lot better, more relaxed. Eventually he would talk to Ajani about it, but in the mean time he would be patient and perhaps come back to Hanako and talk more to her.

“If I have another... situation, is it okay if I come back to you?” He asked, trying to sound like her answer didn't mean anything to him, even though it did. “If you need to I could always do favors for you if return. Despite my eye, I can still do deliveries.” He realized he didn't even mention his loss of sight in his left eye. It had become something that was so ordinary now that he hardly cared. He was still as tough as he was before, just a little broken.

Hanako listened carefully to Sol as he explained why he hadn't gone to his partner instead. She caught his smile and nodded, glad that he was no longer the sour cheetah that had come in earlier.

"If you ever need to talk again, or need anything, I'll be here," she purred at him, standing up from her spot. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind," She was sure she could think of a few errands for him to do eventually.
