You are the company commander of an elite paratrooper unit in the army of the Federation of Terran Nations. Next to the mechanized armor of the FTN the paratrooper companies were the spearheads of the FTN fronts. They flew down in orbit-to-surface flyers and jumped miles into enemy territory to complete vital missions to cripple enemy lines. From Terra the FTN rules over all of human expansion into space. They control an entire sector of space in the milky galaxy and dominate dozens of planets and countless colonies, military bases, research labs, etc on moons, astroids, barren planets. The FTN requires that any not born on Terra most go through military service of no less than 4 years to get citizenship to vote in the government…along with various of perks/advantages. The Hernoids are a race of ant people that seek to colonize the whole galaxy. They assimilate other creatures into their race by fusing them with Hernoid DNA making other devilish insectoid soldiers to fight for their case. Soldiers fight in lightly powered armor that allows them to stand up to a bit of damage while still being highly mobile. It allows them to fight in all types of conditions, but only has a life of several days before needing to be recharges…making extraction and supply vital to the FTN. Supporting the infantry are Motorized Armor Assault Vehicles (M.A.A.V.), mechs the size of three people that are armored and armed up to the teeth to be the spearhead of the FTN forces. They have jet packs and are armed with even small tactical missiles on some of them. The regular infantry use high caliber ammunition that explodes on impact to tear into the hard exoskeletons of the Hernoids. They have other various heavy weapons to support the main assault troops. The navy fly giant battle cruisers and many orbit to surface flyers to transport and support the ground forces. They have enough fire power to glass entire planets, but useable worlds are hot commodities and are too rare to glass. The Hernoids main troops are protected by their hard exoskeletons that can withstand regular rounds straight on. They are fearless as they retain no traces of indivuality or personality; they have free will but are unable to lead themselves and require the guidance of the higher castes. Armed with far simpler rifles and equipment than the FTN troops they rely on overwhelming numbers to overrun the FTN troops. Their version of armor and ships are giant bugs converted from creatures from the furthest reaches of spaces. They lack no creatively in evolution and have mutated some strange weaponry into their body plans.

The Visorov are a race of a tough slight reptilian looking humanoids. They are all shades of grey, blue, teal, and green, even a little brown. They are only known to be in one solar system and use an primitive, but effective plasma technology. The technology is very hazardous and inefficient, but it is the sign of a young race. Their weaponry is excellent for taking out armor as they shoot pulse gun that shoots little bolts of plasma rapidly at a shorter range. They are subjugated by the Hernoids, but to what extent or purpose is unkown. The FTN is unaware of their existence, but are about to invade and capture their system (Sigma PK195 to the FTN, Visorous to the Visorov, and an unkown name to the Hernoids). The system is filled with habitable worlds and is a major stronghold of the Hernoids, for years the FTN was never able to push the front lines through their outer defenses that lye just in front of Sigma PK195. Finally under the leadership of Admiral Vasily Petrov of the Russian Federation. Admiral Vasily broke Sigma GD sector of the Hernoid lines. The breakthrough was the biggest in the war and millions of FTN troops flooded into the Hernoid territory. Being only an Admiral, Petrov was removed from leading the breakthrough and given to Grand Admiral Cho Hung of the Chinese Federation. Grand Admiral Hung was capturing as much Hernoid territory as he could and was gonna form it into a stronghold that would break assault group after assault group of Hernoid soldiers. Admiral Petrov leads the Sigma front in the center of the deepest line in Hernoid territory. Upon beating back the Hernoid space flying creature the FTN find the existence of the Visorov. Reconnaissance report that the Visorov were arming themselves to fight the FTN and were a threat, however they also reported disorder, dissent, and resistance in the Visorov from the Hernoids. Admiral Petrov reasoned that perhaps the new alien race was held captive by the Hernoids. He ordered that the troops capture and occupy the system whilst his experts figured out what they were and what their relationship to the Hernoids were. The system however was not only being armed with Visorov, but on all the planets where atleast one giant Hernoid stronghold as the system was used as a staging point for the Hernoid army. Admiral Petrov and his troops faced a tough challenge, learning and subjugating the new species of humanoids while fighting off an entire army of Hernoids.

Microcommand- You focused on leading on a more personal levels, leading the soldiers in your immediate areas to quickly and powerfully take vital objectives that are critical for the war effort. Without your efforts to hold vital points, penetrate vital strongholds, rescue trapped soldiers, the FTN would ATLEAST lose millions of more people to take all the ground they do.
Expertise: your specialty
Morale- you can give excellent speeches that uplift your troops and inspire them to victory. Your troops have higher morale and you are an exalted and legendary leader. You will be in charge of bigger operations. You will handle the central operations of the front. You will be more involved in the superior levels of command quicker. You are the gallant knight to your men stopping the enemy at every location they peek their head up from.
Federation Origin: the country you originate from on Terra
The Russian Federation- Makes up most of Northern Europe, Northern Asia and Eastern Europe. They are one of the most traditionalist and hard Federations. Officers from the Russian Federation are usually Terran elitists and believe in straight forward and honorable combat.
The Chinese Federation- Makes up most of southern and central Asia. They are the most ambitious of the federations. Officers from the Chinese Federation usually are eager to receive higher prestige in the army. They use troops more sparingly and will use tricks and usurp glory from other commanders.
The American Federation- Made up of all of North and South America. They are the proudest and most individualistic federation. They think of themselves first as Americans and then as member of the FTN. They try and remain purely American in their laws, organization of society, etc. They are the outsiders of the Federation usually putting all of their troops into isolated all American army groups and seek to do their own objectives.
• The Federation of the British Empire- Still with a figurehead monarch the British Empire’s Federation reclaimed all of its imperial year’s glory. Capturing all of Africe, Australia, and the British Isles The Federation of the British Empire have the most sophisticated and suave officers. They are usually very honorable and very militaristic. They believe in fighting for glory till the end. They have very high moral codes and usually strive for missions of honor such as being the vanguard of the assault.
The European Federation- The Remaining parts of Europe. It is by far the smallest of the Federations, but it is the most liberal one. They believe in freedom for all, and seek to resolve things as peacefully as possible. A lot of the populace does not believe in fighting the Hernoids to establish dominace, but only to defend mankind.
The Troops Contemp- why the troopers distrust or dislike you
The Spoiled Brat- You come from a very affluent family with a well known name. The troops think you got your position because of your family name and that you don’t have any real ability. They will question your orders, and act on their own initiative without consulting you first.
The Arrogant Officer- You have a snobbish attitude, atleast your troopers think so. They will dislike having you order them around and will have little faith in your orders and have slightly less morale than normal.
The Boy- Most of your troopers are older than you are and have years more experience in the field of battle. They think that you lack the experience needed to lead and will insist on their own course of actions citing their years of experience as reason to heed them. This will provide helpful insight but will result in your soldiers questioning your competence.
Create your own (has to be approved)
o Noncommissioned officer- started out as a person who joined the army just to gain citizenship. You were a natural at everything you did. Within 2 years you were promoted into the elite paratrooper legions. Once there you shined brighter than before. After preforming your final two years high command invited to stay on in the army and be trained as an true officer. After much thought you decide become an officer. The soldiers will respect and relate to you more, they will be more obedient to your orders and stand stronger. You will understand real combat situations a lot better than the commissioned officers as you have lived it yourself as a regular trooper. You will have had training in a weapon specialty in the core and have access to your training from that. Officers will look down upon you for being from originally and noncommissioned officer. You supplies will be less, extraction will be more shaky. You will be given grunt assignments or dangerous but unglorious missions. Second Lt. (older 28+)
Superior’s view of you: how your superior’s regard you
The Hero of the common soldiers- The higher ranked officers of the army view you as an model for the regular trooper. Coming from the core you are viewed as the one to make their hero. You will be put in the front of combat. You will been seen doing your tasks. Your stories will spread. The pressure will be immense on you, and a slight failure or blight on your record will cost you everything.
The Old Dog thrown a bone- The higher ranked officer believe that High Command made you their charity case, and that you are no better than a regular soldier. You are kept in the reserve, being deployed later on in the battle. This keeps you from most of the glory, however this leaves you in some of the most dangerous and vital points in the battle. You are sent to bolster the main objectives and to come in for the killing blow. Glory is obtainable if you can out preform your objectives, but you will be put on the back burner from the get go.
Original Training: what you were trained as when you first joined the army
Heavy gunner- you have knowledge of heavy weapons, lots of launchers, heavy machine guns, and the various special weapons used in combat. You carry around one of your own and have more troopers armed with heavy weapons amongst your men. You are used in missioned where they expect more heavily armored troops or to break through fortresses and other strong points.
Sniper- you were trained to be a silent killer. Infiltrating behind enemy lines to kill vital targets. You were trained to be quiet and move through the environment flawlessly. You are used in more stealth and behind enemy lines missions. You have to accomplish your objectives in a quiet and efficient way, no blazing guns or explosions here. Your troopers are more stealthy, armed for sabotage and silent and close killing.
The Front Line Trooper- you were trained to take on the brink of the enemy force. You were not sent to a unit that was held in reserve or sent into mop up the enemy. You were usually on the first or second wave of the attack and were sent on the most straight forward objectives. You are used in general attacks. Your troops are sent on the more general objectives. You fight intense battles against highly dense enemy troops. Your troops are diverse, armed with everything and anything and changes constantly. You fight generally in the grind, but you do see random missions in other types of combat (most diverse missions and story). Lot of appearance of the M.A.A.V.s
The Star Trooper- You are the ideal hero of the army. You look good, you have a troubled but inspiring back story. The people love to see and hear about you. High Command has made you a face of the war’s efforts. You are sent on the most hellish and heroic objectives. They are not always the most vital objectives strategically they are very showy. Very high risk missions, lots of chance of being killed or failing. Your troops are all armed as well as possible. They are a mix of good fights, hardened veterans of your previous missions and fresh grunts who were shuffled in to fill your unit, which has one of the lowest life expectancies. (can’t be taken by the old dog)
The Engineer- You were trained to be in a support role. You have a lot of technical knowledge and good with explosives and fighting alongside M.A.A.V.s. You will be used in more technical missions, such as demolition missions, supporting M.A.A.V. assaults supporting general assaults. You troops will be standard issue, but you will have more ordence and vehicle support. You will have access to more field weapons and fortifications.
Origin- where you come from (all pick a nation their home was controlled by)
Terran- You are from the motherland of Terra. You are from the privileged life and are highly educated and probably well off. You also must select a nationality from the commissioned officer nationality selections and apply that to your character. (can be from any planet in our solar system as well) Already a citizen you joined the military for the prestige or love of war.
Mainworlder- from a habitable world, you are the second most prestigious background. You are educated, had decent privileges and luxuries, you potentially come from a big city, a normal township, or from the luxurious countryside. You joined the military because you want the civil right to vote, or because you needed the perks like paid college tuition or finical support.
Colony Homeworld- you are from a colony of a desolate or habitable world that has newly been settled. You have a basic education and come from a simple life with a small population. You probably joined the military out of boredom, because all your family does, or because you want to escape the colony life.
Research or Military Base- you come from a family that works for the government either in research or military. You are use to the regulated life of the military and find yourself at ease with all the formality. You probably are rather educated but come from modest means. You could come from anywhere in the galaxy from a mundane place to the most exotic environment. You probably joined the military out of duty or obligation to your family.
Soldier’s Admiration- in what way do the soldiers admire you as being from the core
The Old’ Man- You are a kind but stern leader. You are the father of your troopers. You guide them sternly but you value their lives greatly. Your troops will care for you personally and go to extreme lengths for you. They will value your regard and your opinion will matter to them a lot.
The Hard a**- You are the hardest mother ******** your troops have ever met. You hold them to the highest standards, and your troops have crack discipline and training. You troops won’t get to know you on a personal level, and you will be isolated and distant from your troopers. Your interactions will be limited to a command only bases. However they will respect you and your commands.
• The Buddy Officer- You will be very informal with your troops. You will make them feel like equals and all part of a cohesive team. The bonds between your men (including with you) will be very strong. You will trust each other completely and will go to great lengthes for each other. Your troopers will be very supportive will coming up with ideas for battle plans and suggestions during the battle, providing additional insight to the fight. However they will lack a little discipline as you are rather soft on them.
The Idol- You will be the center of a cult of personality. Your troops will practically worship the bottom of your feet. They strive to be like you and are almost fanatical to you. They will follow your orders to the letters and without question, but will be over zealous and over eager and sometimes act without orders but with much ferocity and force of will.
The Legend- You will be an admired figured legendary for your previous victories in combat. All of your troopers will know your whole life story. They regard you as being a wise soldier hardened at the heart of the war. They will keep themselves at arm’s length preferring to admire you from afar. They will be well organized and hold strong for you in adversity. They will put complete trust into your plans and will follow your commands, however they will be hesistant to offer their own “novice” opinions to a master commander such as yourself.
Adversary- the personal rival/antagonist that your character faces off with
o The Grudged Commander- A former commander of yours ordered you to lead a hopeless assault before and after he had given up hope you took control and lead a comeback that won not only your objective but the whole battle. Having felt like his glory was stolen the commander now holds a grudge against you.
o The Rival Company- You have a rival drop trooper company that is your dreaded foe. You guys can hardly be in the same room without the tension in the air rising. It isn’t unheard of for troopers from each company getting into fist fights at mess halls or out in the pubs.
o The Enemy Commander- Among the Hernoids is a commander who for some reason always end up opposed to you. You two face of in tactics, strategy and in person time and time again as your hatred for each other grows.

The Drop Troopers: Elite soldiers of the FTN forces. They are a combination of technological, biological, and psycho design. Their bodies are fused with a special carbon base metal that allows for cybernetic modifications and strengthening. The Drop Troopers look and function like normal troopers. There is nothing different looking about them. They aren't even all big and burly, the metal replacement just fuses and reinforces the bones allowing for a system to be put in place in the back of the spin. On the back of the heads of the Drop Troopers are four small connection openings for the M.A.A.V. connections. The weapondry of the Drop troopers is the most advanced ever seen. On the wrists of the Drop Troopers are two small connection sites for their advanced weapondry. They used high powered assault rifles that rounds that exploded on impact to heavy weapons like giant gatling guns that fire thousands of rounds per second. They can connect things like sentry guns to themselfs and use it to shot down corridors using the sentry gun as a living extension of their body allowing for percise aim and control. Their iconic weapon though is the M.A.A.V. battle armor. Inside the battle suit cord connect the pilot to their M.A.A.V. the implants in the Drop Troopers head transfers the brains commands to their body and transfers them to the M.A.A.V.'s body which is lined with a synthetic nerve system controlling the machine. This allows for pinpoint accuracy of movement on an instant rate. The Drop Trooper literally inhabits the M.A.A.V.

Each Drop Trooper is given chemicals that enhance the Drop Troopers psychic abilities. They all have lightning fast brains that can process vast quantities of information, images, sensations, feelings, everything allowing for the drop troopers to remain completely focused and aware of their surroundings. They have an almost unnatural sense for eminent danger giving them an almost precognition ability to know just when to dodge bullets or explosions. Ofcourse this is not full proof, the Drop Troopers die just like everyone else from being shot, its just they have an heightened ability to dodge and sense danger. Their are rare talents who can read minds, or communicate with peoples telepathically, some claim to have general insight into the future, a trait that Desman Crater processes allowing for tactical and strategic brilliance as Drop Troopers have an uncanny ability to read the enemies movements.

The Drop Troopers are an elite force. The 50 Drop Troopers that make up a platoon are valued as much as an entire company of 250 regular soldiers. They are the best of the best. They face the fiercest fights and are the spearhead of the army. Their M.A.A.V. battle armor is unparalleled and is the reason the F.T.N. is gaining ground in the war.

Desman sat confined in the drop pod aboard the F.N.S. Washington as they orbited Sigma PK195. Sweat beaded down his face as he his drop pod sat in the tight confines of the shoot that would blast him and his squads pod down to their dropzone. Sigma PK195 was a heavily fortified world. It was a major industrial world for the Hernoids. Dozens upon dozen of massive colonies had been built filled with Queens to fuel front lines that for years had been a couple of systems ahead of Sigma PK195. Also they had giant factories that turned out the abominations that made up the Hernoid special forces. The F.N.S. Washington was among the ships launching the first wave of the invasion into Sigma PK195. No F.T.N. troops were on the surface, so as usual the Psychonaughts (Drop Troopers actual name) were the first in the fight. On the hud screen of Desman's armor came an image of Sergeant Major Winston, the grizzled commander the 67th Psychonaughts, "All right men, this is it. We are the first wave of the attack. We will be dropping into territory hotter than you can imagine. This planet is vital to this system, they aren't going to give it up lightly. Today thousands of psychonaughts and hundred of thousands of regular forces drop onto PK195 in just the first wave, it is going to be a battle for the history books. Don't get excited though, they don't expect even half of us to make it to the surface of the planet alive. I won't lie to you, most of the people hearing this message won't live to fire a shot. It is going to be such rough landing that they won't even give us the any Cyruses (Psychonaught M.A.A.V.s) till we secure a landing point on the ground. Apparently Cyruses cost to much to make to be sending down into the killing field that the first drop is going to be. Instead we are stuck with our O.T.S armor (Orbit-To-Surface Armor ) until we can gain some ground. This makes us really vulnerable as we land, but that's the life of a psycho! You have your objectives. Get on the ground alive, meet up with your squads and move to your objectives as quickly as possible. The sooner we secure a beachhead the sooner we can get the heavy weapons and armor down to support us. Remember my children, pyschos fear nothing, they feel nothing! Psychos are the terror of the army. Psychos are the figures of nightmares. Fight hard and die like a god of war!"

Just as Sgt. Major Winston finished his speech the F.N.S. Washington shook violently as plasma from a Hernoid anti-spaceship battery slammed into the side. Luckily this was a blast fired from the surface of PK195, the fleet surrounding the planet had been shot down, forced to land, or fled the day before when the F.T.N. fleet had arrived. This would mean that until they hit orbit all the Psychonaughts had to worry about was being hit by chance by the anti-spaceship weaponry on the ground. Once in orbit however they would have to dodge aircraft, anti-aircraft guns, flying Hernoids, and whatever other devilish creations awaited them on PK195.

Desman's platoon's objectives was simple. Land on the planet and gain control of a 20 sq mile piece of land. Part of it was open ground, a grass clearing of some sort, but about a third of it was a dense forest that recon had been unable to discover the enemy strength in. They could be done once they land on the surface, or they could be walking into an entire army group of Hernoids, Desman wasn't given any information on what to expect. Suddenly Desman felt the tube his drop pod was crammed into start to shake. The gears of the ship were positioning them into the giant cannon that would put them into the atmosphere of PK195. In both of Desman's ears he heard a woman's voice doing the final countdown till the drop.

"5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Make the Federation proud boys" she said calmly as Desman felt his insides turn as his drop pod suddenly shot from the giant cannon out of the ship. Once he cleared the ship his display showed him the external world once more. He saw dozens of drop pods being shot out of the Washington and started to beam towards the planet. A giant blob of plasma shot past Desman and went spiralling into a group of drop pods to his left. The drop pods were gone in a blink of an eye, engulfed by the blue blob of plasma instantaneously, the plasma wasn't even shot off course as it slammed into the side of F.N.S Churchill to the left of the Washington. The plamsa glared as it rammed into the shields of the ship. It wasn't that critical of a hit unless a ship had first been hit by the EMP missiles that the Hernoids shot up to not only break down the shields of the ships, but to leave them immobilized as well. A cruiser on Desman's right went up in flames as a plasma blast happened to break through the worn shields of the ship and blew its midsection open. Desman watched helplessly as he sat trapped in the drop pod as he spiraled towards the planet. His display read that he was about to enter the atmosphere of the planet.

Once he reached that point the drop pod shot off a barrage of small flares to distort the many targeting systems that were trying to lock onto Desman's drop pod. His visual displays were too clouded to see what was going on around him, but his sensors placed the other nine members of his squad were scattered all around him within a 100 miles. That seemed like a lot of distance, but his drop pod had a homing beacon that started to send out a signal that would angle the other pods towards him closing the distance rapidly. The sensors started to ping for every 10 miles closer to him a squad member got. As the nearest drop pod came in sight of his a stream of laser beams from the planet happened to fly up through the drop pod causing it to explode into a shower of metal and carnage. That was the sign it was time to loose the drop pods. The next nearest member of Desman's squad was still 70 miles out, but they had plenty of to try and meet up with him as they landed. They were still about 10 minutes from landing on the planet. However this is where the drop got the most dangerous, as they lost their drop pod and switched would rely on the jump packs of the O.T.S. armor to gather the lost members of the squad as they landed.

The drop pod fell away from Desman as his armor kicked to life. The jump pack started to let out a stream of fire as it started to slow his speed to rate he could control. His rocket launcher/mingun combination arm started to spin as it warmed up for combat.

(More to come don't post yet)

Desman let out his breath as a group of Talons, Hernoids that were winged and very fast. Their bodies were bade into giant spearheads and the edges of their armor very sharper. They tried to cut down drop troopers as they fell and once on the ground would act as swarms of dive bombers that impaled troopers overwhelming them with numbers and using their agility to make it hard to hit them. A Talon swooped in trying to cut Desman down but Desman used his jump packs to pull himself back from the Talon's swipe. Desman squinted his eyes as his gatling gun opened up at the Talon in front of him. Bullets tore through the air as Desman chased the fleeing Talon with his gun. As he was another Talon swooped in behind him and tried to impale his side. Swinging his gating gun acorss him he sent a fury of exploding bullets into the Talon. The explosions tore through the Hernoids armor and the following bullets burst into the Hernoids soft tissue blowing up its interorgans. The talon fell lifelesly as a the first and a third Talon were cutting through the air straight towards them. Grunting Desman activated the missiles attached to his jump pack set the space in front of him. The Talons were caught up in the fire and they were torn into tiny flaming pieces.

The mission was to important and the drop to dangerous for him to celebrate his triumph. It wouldn't be long before another danger presented itself. About a mile out came the shape or two more of Desman's drop troopers. Suddenly his com sprung to life, "Lt., this is Sgt. Huan, I am with Sgt. Carter. We have not found any of our other troopers."

Calling them over their reunion was short lived as a giant Hernoid air carrier lumbered through the sky below them. A giant living organism, the air carrier housed about a hundred Hernoids on the inside, for a situation like this probably a whole bunch of talons. The air carriers served a flying bases of operations. To defend it little skitters, small humanoid spider creatures manned the many turents pertruding from the air carriers body. When on the offensive the carrier also are capable of firing a plasma blast from their mouths as a hard hitting blast to take down F.T.N. air craft or to assault buildings.

Securing the landing was important, but this air carrier would prevent them from accomplishing that task, it could not go unharassed. Desman and his two troopers blasted their jump packs towards the ground to slow their descent. As they did they fell into a triangle shape over top the carrier as they prepared to land. They saw dozens of skitters scramblign to their guns as the three drop troopers started to strafe the back of the air carrier with their Gatling guns. Skitters started to explodes into puffs of blood as the three drop troops landed on the air carrier. Letting out a grunt of alarm the air carrier start to shake and turn in the air trying to throw off the assailants. Luckily the drop troopers training and special suits allowed them to stay on the air carrier. Looking to save as many as possible Talons started to spill out of the back of the air carrier which Sgt. Huan started to fire as they launched. Sgt. Carter dropped to the side of the giant Hernoid and unleashed a salvo of missiles into the opening where the remaining talons that were waiting to take off were gather. The salvo was amplified in the small confines of the hernoid's body and the explosion left dozens of talons limp inside the air carrier. The remaining ones started to swarm, but Sgt. Carter took advantage of the small opening the Talons had to use to exit and keep them locked in the air carrier with his machine gun. Whilst this was going on Desman ran towards the front of the air carrier using his gun arm to blow up skitter after skitter who tried to turn their turents on him. When he reached the front of the air carrier Desman blasted off in front of the aircraft carrier and fired rockets from the gun into the head of the carrier. The explosions weren't strong enough to break through the air carrier's hard exoskeleton, but it does cause it pain that forced it to start to thrash violently and let out a howl of pain. Using this oppertunity Desman flew straight at the mouth of the hernoid and when he lined up with it sent a mixture of rockets and gatling fire down into the soft tissues of the air carrier's mouth. The howls turned to screetches as the air carrier died in the air falling lifelessly. The two Sgts. jumped off the dead air carrier and reformed on Desman as they neared the ground.

On the ground they found an emplacement of hernoid warriors spring up with an anti-aircraft gun. As it started firing the three boosted away from each other and started to fire down at the emplacement. As they tore threw the crew they started to take fire from five more emplacements that sprung up from the ground. Desman surveyed their landing and dodged anti-aircraft fire as he did. "Use grapeshot as we land." He ordered as he primed his landing missiles.

"Roger" The two Sgts. confirmed as they primed their missiles as well. With perfect syncrinization the three fired off and circle of small high explosive war heads the spread out in a circle below the drop troopers. The missiles slammed into the ground n and destroyed everything within a radius double that of the impact ring. The grapeshot was used to clear the exact landing spots of drop troopers, useful for landing in the dead center of enemies or when they fear the landing might be trapped by mines or other tricks. All 5 of the emplacements were razed to the grounds in flames and the three drop troopers landed on the ground with a bang. They quickly fell to each others backs and formed a triangle surveying the immediate area for enemies. Once they discerned no immediate threats the they relaxed and popped off their OTS armor leaving them in their typical operational armor. (regular armor)

Two troopers at your side out of 50, you saw atleast 5 go up in flames as they landed. Your immediate area in controlled for the moment, but none of your other troopers are in sight, nor were the regular troopers who were supposed to be dropped with your platoon. You landed in one of the few hilly areas of the 20 sq mi. zone you were to gain control of, up in the north eastern section of it. Intel said their should be a dense forest ahead of your postion towards the center of the drop area. After that was a giant open grasslands filled with a few sporadic villages. These villages were small groupings of small one or two story buildings that were intel figured were used by small time farmers before the Hernoid take-over of the planet. They would make good points to center forces around and would be aside from the occasional hill or strip of trees would be the only cover in the large open area. Surrounding the east, north, and west of was a dense forest. Your drop put you in the correct drop zone, which is a miracle, but you have no idea how close together the nearest friendly unit is. Your mission begins here.

“Let’s stick to the objective ladies and clean up this area. You have a second to update your info feed and then we keep moving.” Desman told the two he stood with. Some sympathy fell with his words. He would much rather shake their hands and pop open a bottle of champagne to celebrate another eventful and successful drop but now was not the time. They were smack in the red zone and the area was still hot. Desman could smell fight ahead. This made him smile.

“Alright platoon, if you’re still kicking, we rendezvous at the town. I will update your mini maps. Grab intel as you move but try not to engage if possible. Once we are together we will tag and take down everything as a group. It will far quicker and more effective that way.” Desman paused as he surveyed the horizons. This could easily be the last bit of peace they get until they leave this planet.

“Everyone on Washington is watching us right now; some sitting behind desks, some pushing pencils, and some calculating the odds of our survival. The ones I care most about are the fallen soldiers before us. They are calculating whether or not you are worthy of the armor and title you have. We are the most powerful thing this universe has ever seen. You are all capable of things unimaginable by the laymen. We will accomplish everything we set our eyes on by the blood and sweat of our efforts. For that reason I am proud to serve by any of you. Together we will shout Axios: I AM WORTHY!”

With those final words Desman led the two with him towards their rendezvous point. His keen understanding and experience with the bugs led his every step. He watched for every sign ready all the while to fire away.

30 members of your platoon reported in, that meant that only 20 was lost in the drop. It was a lot of troopers, but it was higher than Major Winston expected. They were scattered all around the zone you were supposed to secure, but they all were starting to group up as quickly as possible. So far resistance was light. Some emplacements had sprung up in the fields across the forest from Desman, but for the most part it was pretty easy. Part of Desman wanted to believe that meant they had lucked out on assignments and received and easy snatch and grab, but the veteran in Desman told him that something was wrong. This planet was supposed to be held onto tooth and nail. Surely if there wasn't Hernoids hidden somewhere they would be on their way.

The skies above Desman raged in combat. Ships and winged insects zoomed across the sky. Streams of plasma, bullets, and explosions lite up the sky. Metal from so many different sources Desman could barely identify some of them rained down around them. Luckily the fighting above was so intense that hopefully the Hernoids would be unable to really attack them from above, hopefully they would be too busy trying to kill their allies in the skies to worry about the ones that made it to the ground. Sgt. Huan and Carter formed up behind Desman as they started to make their ways over the hills towards the forest.

"Lt. Crater, this is Lt. Grossman of the 55th infantry, Delta Company, platoon B." The voice rang out over your com. He sounded heated and you could hear intense fighting in the background. Screams could be heard around him, "We landed in the forest in front of you. This ******** place is a trap. Its all a trap. Theres and entire hive down below the forest. ******** bugs are pouring out of holes in the ground like no tomorrow. We are pinned down on all sides. Half my men dead in the drop, half that remains are already down. Hundreds of ******** hernoid warriors are pouring out by the minute. Ahhhhhhhhhh" Suddenly the com went dead. The 55 infantry had dropped with Desman's platoon and numbered 4000 strong. How many had made it to the surface Desman had no idea, the coms were all in a mess. Too many officers were dying, no one knew who to report to or what lines to use. This drop was quickly becoming a disaster.

A trap it may be there was no way to make it to the town where his men were grouping at without going through the forest. If Lt. Grossman was right then it would be a tough fight, though Desman didn't know how many of the 55th they would find inside the forest as well. As Desman started to figure out his next course of action suddenly bullets started to tear up the ground around the three Pyschos. Carter and Huan dropped to the ground and started to return fire, firing blindly into the woods in front of them. The three were caught between two small hills with the forest in front of them. Out of the corner of his eye Desman saw a group of warriors move out of the woods towards the hill on their left trying to flank the Pyschos.

Desman was not happy about their set back. He was thankful though. If it wasn’t for the most recent information he would have ran right into the forest with his three men and get stuck at the hive entrance. The three stood at the base of the forest entrance as they weighed their options. Desman looked through his information feed to see if anything was being updated. It didn’t sound like there was anything left of the group he just heard of. He would welcome a chance to save a few but it didn’t look like that would come.

All of this death being reported sickened Desman. He could only do so much as the leader of one group and the calculators that sat at desks on the ship above couldn't even give most groups a fighting chance. He made eye contact with the two with him and they seemed to agree as the three listened in on destruction.

"You two stick close to me and I will personally make sure you both get back hope once we are done." Desman reached out a hand to shake with each of the men and turned again to face the forest.

“Alright so this forest seems to be a very hot area. I want you all to get as close to the forest I mark and ready yourselves. We will flank this area in a spiral motion. I am moving clockwise here and we will slowly move inward as we close the area up. This fight could get ugly so I want all of you at your best.” Desman gave his words a few seconds before stepping into the forest, his two men at his sides, and guns at the ready. Desman turned on a vision view that made looking through the forest much easier. As they worked inward, Desman also aimed just a bit to the left so that they were arcing around what he marked the center of the forest. “Call out any visuals boys. I’m sure that won’t take long but we will be able to flank things faster if we keep communication up.”

Just then shots fired from out of the forest on their position. Desman's men dropped to the ground to return fire. Visual we key for Desman though. He dared to face the poorly aimed shots in order to find their aslants. When he noticed the group looking to flank them he charged forward with a battle cry, opening up his gun like they were the flood gates of hell.

"Rush the flankers before they get into position. It doesn't look like the others have a good shot from their current position. Let's make them dread the decision to open fire on us" Desman yelled as the two psychos with him followed along side of him.

Sgt. Huan leaped up to his feet and joined Desman as they rushed up the hill at the flanking hernoid warriors. The two psycos unleashed a hail of exploding bullets into the warrior squad and they started to drop. Being mindless husks that followed their orders to the letter they proceeded with their objective of making it up the hill as the hail of bullets tore into their exoskeletons. Sgt. Carter stayed back on the ground at the bottom of the hill and provide cover fire for his comrades raking the tree line with his assault rifle. The fighting was getting intense as Desman and Huan cleared the hill of the flankers and started to rain fire back down into the tree line. The explosions of the F.T.N. bullets tore the trees in the front of the forest apart as they fired at seemingly endless amounts of warriors that kept popping in and out of sight from behind trees. Three psychonaughts could hold their ground against a force this size until they ran out of bullets or a lucky hernoid bullet took one out, but they just didn't have the firepower to push through the Hernoid line.

As Desman began to readdress a plan of attack the ground behind him shook fiercely. Dirt flew over top of the soldiers as a Galos battle mech stood up from the crater it had caused landing. The Galos battle mech was a standard battle mech, heavily armored it was rather slow moving, but could take a lot of damage and was armed with two gatling gun arms with huge missile pods on its shoulders that allowed for it to unleash a deadly salvo of fire and death.

"This is Corporal Smith from the 55th infantry sir. Looks like you need some heavy guns over here." The mech pilot said with a laugh as he launched a barrage of missiles from the giant missile pods on the mechs shoulders. The missile launched straight into the tree line and blew it apart. Hernoid warriors went flying in every direction as the mech started advancing on the forest unleashing its twin gatling guns as it did. Within seconds the remaining Hernoid warriors were withdrawing from the tree line. "I don't know if you intend to go through that forest sir, but my unit is being slaughtered in there," the corporal said with a pang of pain in his voice, "That forest is too dense f or my mech, but my orders are to hold these hills as a landing point for the second wave of drops so if that is what you are intending I can't follow." The pilot voice was filled with sorrow as he was unable to go to the rescue of his comrades trapped in the forest. "But there are still thousands of F.T.N. soldiers scattered in those woods and more are landing every second." The pilot did not lie for as they talked they saw a couple of the giant squad size drop pods used by the regular troopers fall further in the forest.

Suddenly Desman's com fired up, "Lt. this is Sgt. Grieves of Beta squad, we have arrived at the meeting point. 20 of us in total, we are experiencing heavy fire on all sides, but some of the infantry boys with heavy weapons have joined us and we can hold this town all ******** day if need be. But god this ******** field is a death zone. The Hernoids are just wasting men left and right without any form of cover to use. I've seen entire platoons cut down as they try and reach us here in the village. What the hell was command thinking dropping us into an area with no cover!" With 20 of Desman's platoon in the village that meant that their was 7 left unaccounted for somewhere. Even if they were all already dead, they still were at combat strength, but it still pained Desman because he had dropped with 49 troopers in total.

Desman was grateful for the backup. He would gladly welcome any guns on his side to help with their efforts. After watching the hernoids flee he turned to wave thanks to the mech soldier.

“No sweat if you can’t follow us. Hold your ground soldier so the second wave of drops doesn’t meet the same troubles yours is currently having. I will do what I can to save some of the troop you’re in. Do us a favor and watch our signal. If we get in a tight situation I may lead some hernoids back this way for you to crush.” Desman smiled with his wave and then turned to face the forest. He looked side to side at the two next to him. “Let’s make a run for that drop and secure any numbers we can. Once they get on our feet we will continue to circle around until this location is eliminated.” Desman explained and then began his walk into the forest. A feet meters in and his received the message through his com.

“That is good news. I am glad to hear most of you are fine. Make sure you guys are updating your information feeds because I redirected my orders not to long ago to turn your focus to the forest. Get all those men moving into this forest and we will clear it out together.” Desman repeated his orders once again, asking that his men move through the forest clockwise as to flank anything they came into counter with. Eventually they would all meet in the middle. That was the plan at least.

Once he finished with his orders Desman was back to his weapons. He focused on all the moments and ques that would suggest an attack. If the recently fled than they had a lead on the ground. Desman motioned for the group to move quickly and stay on him. Desman kicked off the ground into a sprint around the forest floor, weaving through the trees and vines and earth. His training and years allowed him to use his armor in a way that made this type of moment work in his favor, taking off some of the stress of moving with this much gear.
