Digging was Niklas' new hobby. Entire days would be spent uncovering nothing but rocks. Every now and then, he found a peculiar object hidden beneath the earth that made it all worth it.
Niklas hadn't discovered anything yesterday and he worried it was the start of bad luck. Determined to beat this unseen enemy, he woke early in the morning and left as soon as mother allowed. He had ample time to choose a spot that looked promising.
Niklas kept his eyes to the ground as he went. It was only a matter of time before he ran into somebody...

"What are you doing?" Farvaan cocked his head to the side and backed up a couple of paces, both curious and slightly annoyed at the other cub's lack of attention to his surroundings. The dusty furred male was not one to hold a grudge, however, and he quickly forgot that he wasn't thrilled with being bumped in to. He was more interested in why this other cub's attention was almost solely on the ground. Spending so much time digging seemed both silly and, quite possibly, somewhat entertaining.
He dropped to his tummy, his rump up in the air, as he gave Niklas a challenging mock-growl.
"D'youwanna get your nose outta the dirt and play?"

From Niklas' prospective, being the Warlord's son had its ups and downs. One of the perks was an immunity he mistakenly assumed was there as long as he stayed in line. One of the pitfalls? The staying in line part. For his family, that meant acting as you were expected. Males were supposed to fight, train to fight, fight some more, and like it.
He'd much rather stick to his initial plans for the day than get side-tracked by yet another brawling session. With as many brothers as he had, not a day went by without a tussle or two.
Niklas tried to growl instead of sigh as he crouched down and bared his tiny, sharp cub teeth. "You'll be sorry you messed with me," he said, mocking the arrogant tone he'd heard from some of the adults.

The lighter cub was one who did enjoy a good scrap, always willing to tussle with siblings and other cubs. It wasn't because it was expected of him that he enjoyed such things, but because he truly did enjoy such things. He wiggled with anticipation and playfully sprung at Niklas, making to knock him over, using his teeth and claws sparingly as to not actually cause the other cub harm - such things were not his intentions this particular morning.
"You didn't ever answer my question." He stated between nips and playful growls. Thankfully, there were plenty of cubs and potential playmates running around the pride at that particular moment. Having to make his own fun was boooooooooriiiiiiiiiiing and he much preferred this to playing quietly on his own.
