Sata was travelling to an area where he’d been told something strange was happening. It seemed that a few sick warthogs had crossed the border and there were some concerns regarding the possibility that the disease might spread to the jungle’s population. That in itself was worthy of concern but Sata was also worried about his companion. Sipho, the blue bird currently nestled on the lion’s back had been feeling poorly all thought the day. If Sata thought the never ending chatter of the bluebird could be upsetting at times, it was amazing how his silence made him all the more uncomfortable.
“How are you feeling, buddy?” he asked quietly, turning his head back to get a look a Sipho.
------------------------
Sipho heard the blue lion’s words but didn’t answer. He felt bloated and nauseated and it was only out of sheer stubbornness that he had decided to tag along instead of staying alone in his nest. If he wasn’t feeling well, he didn’t solitude as a constant reminder of how bad he was feeling. At the very least, he wanted to be coddled and reassured and – as he obviously was too proud to ask Pikelis to with him instead of going hunting with her blue lioness – so Sata would have to do. His constant worry did make him feel better… a little annoyed… but better.

Aphrodite had left his sister behind for a little so she could do a bit more exploring elsewhere. He had wanted to press on to find out if the rumors of a pride down this way where true. He and his sister had both liked what they heard about it, but he knew Pallas just was not quite ready to head down. Who knew what would make her ready, but he was more than ready to, and figured that the sooner he found the answer to the question of a pride, the sooner he could show his sister the way back here, when she was ready, of course. Aphrodite was half afraid that the rumors would prove to be false and he would have to return empty pawed to his sister. He refused to disappoint her like that. There HAD to be a pride, he just had not found them yet. Every time he was about to give up and turn back, this thought kept him pressing onward, which was why he was now quite deep into the forest and still going. It was amazing how determined the male could be when he wanted to, even if he would have been just as happy to snuggle up to his sister and not worry about anything. There was another thought. He was going to have to find himself a mate soon enough because he was sure his sister would get one and then he would have nobody to snuggle. He was sure that a lack of snuggling would be the end of him. His overly affectionate personality was part of who he was, along with his bordering hyperactive levels of energy. Both these things needed an outlet, and he figured a pride would give him those so he did not pester his sister.

“What are the birds saying?” Sata strained his neck, turning his head and ears in every direction as he noticed sudden changes in the wildlife sounds around them. He could make out some words in the wind thanks to close contact with the avian species of the area but not enough to understand what was going on.
Sipho sighed and listened carefully, torn between feeling angry that he was being asked to work when he wasn't well and feeling proud that he was an essential tool of Sata’s work. Silly cat couldn’t do anything without him, pfff!
“There’s a lion around here. A stranger, not one of the singing blue ones. He’s noisier. Seems lost. He’s on the ground, doesn’t use trees.” Sipho could catch the sounds of his kind more clearly than the lion and slowly transmitted each one to his companion.
The lion narrowed his eyes as he climbed to a tree and began to travel above the ground, using the dense foliage for support and concealment.
“A new member? Or a rogue… I wonder if he has the proper colors. One of the Warriors will find him soon enough if we don’t first. Let’s go.” While Sata was very happy in the forest where his pride resided, he was always interested in meeting strangers, whether they were prospective members or simply passing rogues.
“Let’s go, let’s go…” Sipho sounded even more annoyed than usual. “You’re a Whisperer, not a Talker. I hope he’s mean and bites your big nose off.” Sata chuckled as he drew closer to the sounds of the disrupted birds he’d been listening to and it didn’t take long for him to spot the pale lion. His colors meant that Sata wouldn’t have to send him away which pleased him. He dropped to the ground without hesitation, feeling Sipho’s little talons holding tighter.
“Hello, brother. I see you. Are you lost?” he greeted the other with his typical pleasant joviality, keeping a polite distance from the white lion.

Aphrodite had been moving pretty well for not being used to the place, but he had noticed the birds were getting louder. Birds were such tattletales at times, but what could he do? It was not as if he was coming in to harm any pride that might be here, but had he needed to hunt, they would have made it impossible to do so. The male gives a mental sigh at that. He was a great hunter like his father, so the thought that hunting might be difficult here was depressing. He gave his head a little shake to clear out the unwelcome sad thoughts. He could not afford to get distracted by thoughts of his parents and how he missed them right now. He was doing something important.
Aphrodite paused in place as he heard something above him and he very carefully looked around. Even not being used to the underbrush and such, he had not thought he was doing THAT bad of a job padding through. What had he attracted? He was hoping it was not something dangerous, but he had no idea what to expect in this forest. When a moment later, another lion dropped from above, the male was at least glad to see it was friendly. Why any lion would be up in the trees, confused Aphrodite to think on.
"Hello, I see you too?" What an odd greeting. Of course, they saw each other. Oh well, Aphrodite would just have to try to ignore the oddities and see if this was just some other rogue or if this male was from the rumored pride. "I am not lost... lost would mean I couldn't find my way back out if I had to. I am searching for a pride that is rumored to live in this forest... My sister and I thought they might make a good home. Do you know of them?" Please let this be a pride lion, it would make it SO much easier. And please let it be a mated pride lion, as Aphrodite didn't want to have to deal with the stupid questions about his sister that might come from a single male only interested in getting some tail.

Kathryn Dragonna So sorry for the delay, especially on a JRP. RL had been ridiculous lately. Sata chuckled when the other male seemed to be a little confused about his greeting, as rogues often were.
“I see you.” He repeated with a friendly smile that quickly turned into a playful grin as he drew even closer. “It means I see not only what my eyes show but who you truly are. I acknowledge your presence, your existence and accept you as my brother in life.” Sata’s expression became apologetic. “I’m sorry, I think I’ve been spending too much time around cubs lately.” His prolific family was to blame, of course.
“You’ve reached the Iknimaya Lands, home of the Na’vi lions that reside in this dense forest. Is this the place you were looking for? And your sister… what does she look like?” Sata tried not to look concerned and hoped the lioness was of proper coloring. He was not terribly concerned over such things but pride rules dictated that certain colors could not be accepted and the blue lion did not wish to the bearer of bad news in case she turned out to be yellow… or red!
---------------------------------
“Sata, you’re married.” Sipho said, sounding tired and annoyed. He was completing forgetting about the rules that applied to joining rogues and instead he just felt somewhat defensive as he thought about Clerm, Pikelis and Sata’s grown cubs. Sata and Clerm seemed to have decided on having more cubs soon so hearing him inquire about someone’s sister worried him greatly. He just wasn’t thinking straight. He didn’t think Sata was the type to make a stupid mistake that could destroy his (their?) family but still… “Behave yourself.”

Mogami You are not the only one that got eaten by RL, but hopefully we can get this done Aphrodite grinned at the male's comment about spending time around cubs. "I came from a very big family, I know all about the interesting habits of being around cubs all the time. My father was a prime example of it." He had to admit he did miss his father sometimes, but really, it was best to go out on one's path when the need arose without looking back too much. "I am glad to hear I have reached pride lands, this makes me hopeful I have found what we have been searching for." It was wonderful news to the male. Aphrodite hesitated a moment at the question about his sister's appearance, but really, it could be that the male was asking to see if she had already arrived, or so he would know when she did arrive. There were innocent reasons for such questions, and he was determined to not see the worst in another lion that he had just met. "My sister is an goddess of a lioness, snow white coat and bright blue, elegant markings like on my paws cover her body... She is a vision." He couldn't help the grin on his muzzle as he spoke of his sister. Both his sisters were beautiful, and he liked bragging of sharing blood with them. A sudden thought hit Aphrodite. That Mari lioness that had come around a few times spoke of some family of hers down this way. He couldn't recall the name at the moment, but he wondered if she was as sweet and kind hearted as the demoness said. It was funny how Mari sung her mother's praises for things that the lioness was not herself. He would have to poke his nose around on that thought later. "Married? You are lucky to have a mate when you seem to be a rather young lion yet."

Kathryn Dragonna I'M SO SORRY. RL SWALLOWED ME WHOLE! D= Sata looked completely at ease as if he’d know the pale male for years and was simply catching up on the news after a bit of time apart. Too trusting, perhaps, but that was his nature and as one who’d never experienced betrayal or strife, he was always happy to find common ground with complete strangers. He laughed heartily when Aphrodite described his sister, relieved that her colors were more than acceptable.
“All is well then brother. I only asked because it is our tradition to only accept certain colors… well, there are exceptions. You’re both welcomed to stay. I’m sure your sister will fit right in.” He then winked playfully at the other lion. “The lionesses in our home are certainly beautiful but I’m afraid I’ve already snatched the prettiest of them all. I may not look it but my first litter has just reached adulthood.” It was impossible for a lion to look any prouder.
----------------------
Sipho sighed but remained quiet this time, his eyes watching the stranger carefully. The pride was about to gain a new “brother” and “sister”, it seemed. He thought the way the blue lions viewed colors was rather silly but he was feeling too poorly to point it out to Sata at that moment – not that the lion had ever discriminated against colors that failed to conform to the pride’s standards before even though he’s also never done anything to fight those beliefs either. Well, it was always good to keep a few things to use for nagging later as even a brilliant pest like Sipho, a bird who’d been raised in the land of sneaky pirates, could run out of ideas at times.

Aphrodite chuckled at the male's proud response about his cubs. "My father is on his sixth and has been calling himself old since the first from what I hear. from my older half siblings. You seem quite young yet, even if you are older than myself." The mostly white male was going to have to keep his eyes open for females when he got into the pride. IF he found the right one he might just settle down and start a family himself, but she had to be perfect! "I am sure your mate is beautiful, but I hope to find a mate with as beautiful a coat as mine to make the prettiest cubs in the world with." Aphrodite gave the other male a cheeky grin at that and stepped forward to give him a friendly nuzzle. "I hope your pride will accept my sister and I. I would be proud to call such a friendly lion family." And while he did not know that the other lion had daughters, soon enough, he would likely be admiring their beauty. The young lion was right around the same age as them, and Sata would unwittingly be leading in someone whom might take an interest in his precious children.

“Six litters?” Sata repeated, unable to hide some surprise. Aphrodite’s father sounded like a busy fellow, the blue lion thought to himself. “I wonder if I’ll reach that many…” he grinned, playfully and then chuckled when the pale lion spoke of his coat in a flattering way. He had to admire a lion who could say such things so openly. A stray thought crossed Sata’s mind as he realized why the white base coat of his new friend seemed so familiar. It reminded Sata of the next King’s coat even if their markings and personalities didn’t match at all.
“I can take you to one of the Warriors so you can go meet our leader.” His father, but Sata didn’t feel the need to advertise that fact at this point. “Or you could go get your sister first. Whichever you prefer.”
---------------------------
Sipho cleared his throat a couple of times, trying to redirect Sata’s attention back to himself. It seemed to be a pointless effort at first as the lion was too preoccupied with the stranger. A little twist of the blue lion's ear in the bird’s direction told him that Sata was paying more attention that it was apparent and while that appeased him somewhat, Sipho was still grumpily calling them names in his head. What an idiotic pair of light-heated fools. Idiots, the both of them. Were he feeling better and Sipho would've been voicing his disapproval loud and clear.

Aphrodite gave a wide grin and a shake of his mane, fluffing it out much like his father did. "Oh yes, six litters now... I do not lack for siblings." He shook himself all over, giving his whole coat a fluff and looking as fluffy as he could. "I will bring her here after I have spoken to the leader if I may, or she'll find her way here before that. I want to have a place for her before I bring her here." He was wanted her to have a safe, welcoming home to come to, and well, he was determined to make it that way for her. "Lead on, my friend." He made a motion for the other to lead. The pale lion's paws were eager to be off and to this new destination. He was so close to his goal now, and he couldn't help but feel a thrill at the idea of getting a nice den/sleeping space ready for when his sister arrived. Maybe she would bring a new mate with her, or find one in the pride. Oh he could not wait, but he would have to. He grinned to himself as they made their way toward the pride now. Aphrodite could not have been a happier lion at the opportunities he had at his paws. Mogami we can call it done at this or another post if you like

“As you wish.” Sata said pleasantly, turning to leave as he motioned the other lion to follow him. “We’ll stick to the ground for now but you’ll soon come to see the trees as a far more interesting path, I think. I’ll help you find you a hammock or two after we handle the formalities.” He had no doubt on his mind that this friendly lion would be easily accepted in the Ikinimaya lands. New blood was important if not vital for the pride and Aphrodite’s temperament seemed like a perfect match to the peaceful pride. “Follow me, then.”
---------------------- Sipho leaned against Sata’s mane, partially disappearing between the long blue and white hairs. He had the horrible feeling that he might see this annoyingly easy going lion more times than he’d like and the idea of having two lions like his companion around, with their constant positive thinking and easy going natures. One Sata was enough, thank you very much.
“I’m sure he’ll want to be left alone.” He said weakly and with little hope, only his head visible above the fluffy mass of the blue lion’s mane. He quickly decided to ride his lion back to the heart of the pride and head back to their hammock, leaving the two lions on their own. If Sata felt guilty enough, he might even be able to use it later.
