Natural Ability: Shapeshifter Malik is able to shift into different appearances and forms, such as another student or creature, but his voice and abilities remain the same. Shifting into an undead, for example, wouldn’t give him a death-like grip because he doesn’t have the strength to pull it off. He can only shift into something his size or smaller. If he wants to try shifting into a 7’ student, you get a miniaturized version of that student, congratulations.
Personality: His clan is a descendant of the jinn known as the ‘Devil’ in Islam. This jinn was known for refusing to bow down to Adam when commanded, and his sense of arrogance has been passed down through the generations. Malik is all that and a bag of chips, and there isn’t much anyone can do to make the demon think otherwise. He has an inflated sense of ego that loves to be stroked, so if anyone wants to get into his favor for one reason or another—compliments are the best way to go. He also won’t hesitate to disobey an order if he sees no reason to follow it, even if he knows there will be severe consequences. His ancestor did the same, so why can’t he?
On a similar note, he is incredibly vain. While Malik prides himself on his…everything, he values his appearance the most. He takes special care in keeping his clothes proper and his hair neat. As someone who values his appearance so much, he also judges others based on their appearance. Consequently, he tends to especially look down on the undeads due to their often horrendous appearance. He considers first impressions and appearance to be incredibly important and can be very stubborn about his opinions of others because of their image. As someone who prides himself on appearance, he also makes it a habit to stay proper. He makes sure to mind his manners, although his snobby side can come out at times.
In the end, Malik will always be a demon. He absolutely loves bargains and trades. The jinn finds the process absolutely fascinating—to offer something and receive something else in return. While he will usually refuse to work with certain types of people (ie. slobs, undead, etc.) it’s not too difficult to get him to cooperate by making a deal.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? While having confidence is not bad, his mother (married into the family) decided it would be wise for Malik to attend Amityville in hopes of learning some humility as well as gain a wider perspective of the world.
FEAR Ability: Cool Fire (The Chill) He conjures smokeless fire that instead of burning, actually feels cool to the touch and seems to relieve any pain.
