So it's been almost 3 years since I started my Master's degree. Almost a year ago, I finished all the stupid classes, and then for the past yearish I've been workin' on my research.
Well, tomorrow I finally give my thesis defense, where I talk about all I did, what I found, ect. and either graduate or fail.
Kinda nervous, but I'm a little more at ease with the fact that I'll be doin' it over skype, since I moved back to my home state after finishing the course work.
However, my adviser doesn't know how to use skype, and a week ago I emailed him instructions and said that we could do a quick trail run to make sure everythin' is workin'. I also asked him if there were any forms I had to fill out or anythin' before the defense and if I was expected to just do an oral presentation or if I needed to make a powerpoint or somethin'.
Now it's the day before the defense...and he hasn't responded. One of the members on my committee is goin' on sabbatical until January on the 15th, so if somethin' goes wrong and I have to reschedule, I can't do the defense again until January, meanin' I have to wait even longer before I graduate and have to pay even more tuition.
I've tried callin' and emailin', but since it's the summer, I'm gettin' no response. I'm gonna be so incredibly pissed if somethin' goes wrong.
But yeah, kinda nervous about tomorrow. I just want to get this over with already.

Eep. Good luck.
With the computer issues, maybe get the person's # in case skype dies on you mid-call. I've had it just konk out on me during calls with people who know what they were doing.
AFAIK, thesis defense is just; have the paper written & prove you know your material & can answer questions.

Everywhere is different. Also, 30 minutes until my defense. While still nervous, I am feelin' better. The defense is going to be over the phone, so I can sit and look at my notes. I'm also expected to just give a 5-10 minute long review of my study, which shouldn't be hard.

I think I just let out the biggest sigh of relief ever. So, they ended up callin' me 45 minutes late, since one of the committee members was stuck in a meetin', so that made me extra anxious.
However, after I did my whole review and answered their questions they all told me congratulations!
Now I just have to get the final copy turned in and I will be DONE!
