"Yes, I know, but I don't want to!" a voice said lowly to an unknown audience. Grassblade was in his usual position- in his favorite patch of tall grass, on his back, paws in the air. He had adopted this position frequently to converse with his muse, ever since he had discovered it. While most had lost their connection with their muse, Grassblade's had never even wavered or weakened.
I know you don't want to, the grass whispered back to the emerald lion, but it may not be so bad. The outsiders might like to be peaceful like you do too!
"I'm not so certain... Grassblade said back, staring intently at one particular blade of grass that stood taller than the others. From here, his head was straight back, the top of it pressed into the grass. "But I'd rather take my mind off of it, remember?" he said to the grass, having apparently tried to steer away from this topic before. "What a nice day," he said after a pause, the grass having decided to give up the fight. His paws slowly sunk down to his body as he enjoyed the sunlight with his muse.

Life was unusually good, all in all. Really, Muhali couldn't whine about her current situation at all. She was comfortable, she was learning new things every day, and while some of the pride members (specially those in higher up ranks) were still leery and suspicious of her, she was doing a good job holding up appearances and making semi, sort-of friends. She'd never had the actual chance to be... friends with anyone, specially not mortals, because when she was in her god state, there were usually two types of reactions. Either they were afraid of her, or they worshiped her, and she wanted neither of those from the Kizi. She'd been around long enough to know that she didn't need to be worshiped; there was enough insanity in the world to be believed in to fuel her forever, pretty much.
Still, there were lots of lions she didn't really know yet and... given she wanted to meet as many as possible, Muhali had taken to roaming the pridal lands and trying to engage in conversation anyone that would allow her to. It was for this very reason that the green lion laying on the grass... caught her attention. She padded closer and noticed the fact the male seemed to be talking to someone, and it only took her a couple of moments to realize what was going on; he was talking to his muse! He still had one! Something in the way the male seemed focused on the grass told her it was probably the grass whispering to him, which was, in a sense, adorable, given his coloring.
Walking up from behind, the small lioness peered over Grassblade's face, "What'cha doin', big boy? Can I join you, maybe? I'm lonely today."

The sun was so bright, the lion had closed his eyes, and his muse had been talking about how sweet the sun was when the lioness' voice slowly faded into his hearing and pulled him out of that reverie. He opened his eyes to see a blue lioness with blue eyes staring at him.
How had she gotten here? How so suddenly? Was she an outsider? Oh goodness, she had to be an outsider. He had never seen her before- that meant she was probably an outsider. One of the ones that just got here.
All of these questions raced across his consciousness as his panic showed on his face. He slowly pulled his paws in closer to his body as he stared up at her. "I'm just... Ch-chatting with the grass..." he said slowly, unsure if he should attempt to get up and run away. What if she wanted to kidnap him for his eyes?
But she has blue eyes too, I don't think she'll be after you for that, the grass whispered to him in his time of confusion. It made sense to him, and he decided trying to run was out. "Are you new here?" he asked slowly, staring at her without moving.
